(Disclaimer: This character was made solely for specific RP, and so his history reflects the storyline in it. However, I fell in love with this character so much that I had to beef up his profile and add him here. I shall have a dossier on moments of his history that need explaining at the bottom of the sheet.)
Name: Lexeas Khaine
Age: Ancient, typically opts for the physical ages of twelve to fourteen or twenty four to twenty eight when assuming a human form.
Gender: Despite his seemingly aesexual status, based on his formless, shapeshifting heritage, Lexeas firmly asserts that he is a male, and while he is quite capable of taking a woman's visage, he feels far more comfortable "sticking with what he knows", to put it in his own words.
Race: Shapeshifting Elder Demon
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Power Level: Middle-Tiered High (8)
Timeline: While capable of use in Medieval and Steampunk genres, he is a character originally intended for Modern RPs. Futuristic and Cyberpunk would also work, but probably not as well as Modern, since it defeats the novelty of his numerous pop culture references and possibly also his pseudonatural and supernatural qualities.
Appearance: Being a shapeshifter, Lexeas's appearance is so erratic that describing one form he takes would be pointless and inadaquate. However, there are several common themes with his chosen forms. When he assumes a human appearance, which he frequently does if only for the ease of social interaction, he is almost always male. He favours unnatural hair colours like blue and green, and as detailed below, his fashion sense is wholly reliant on coats, ties, and hats. Lexeas also has yellow eyes when in a humanoid form. While several would probably assume this is simply a feature Lexeas cannot change, in truth he's really just too lazy to pick a different eye colour, although he may do so if he felt the need to blend in even more than any adversaries might assume he's capable of.
Personality: Lexeas appears to be a joker and a charlatain in every way, his words and actions always erratic and seldom sincere. He seems to be a laughing fool by nature, chuckling off even the most endangering of scenarios with an uncaring grin and an unfunny quip. His time on Earth has seemingly infected him with a fondness (or perhaps "addiction" would be a better word...) for human media, and he is known to reference it consistently, whether his audiance is familiar with it or not. There is also, of course, the fact that he has come to practically thrive off the stuff, never seen without his nose deep in some sort of novel, comic book or magazine, that is unless there's a TV nearby. He claims to be a true servant of Chaos, but not Nemesis* - the proclaimed God of Chaos - himself. He is vocal with his demonic kin when he shares his views of what Chaos is and is not, taking what could almost be considered a priestly approach with a fire and brimstone flavour if he wasn't such a joke. Lexeas is also adamant about not taking a stance between good and evil, stating that Chaos does not take sides. Of course, given his seemingly sadistic nature and approach, one frequently assumes he is evil, which is probably just what he wants, even if he'll deny it. After all, it just makes his good deeds spur that much more pandemonium. Also, let it be known. Lexeas likes coats. A lot. More often than not, he is wearing some form of coat, be it a longcoat for outdoor use, or a lab coat when at school. Lexeas also has an attachment to both the fedora and the cabbie hat, and WILL be wearing one regardless of the circumstances. There are no exceptions. One can also expect neckties of varying colour and design. Again. There are no exceptions.
History: One of the first and one of the best, Lexeas is a demon, a true, demonic Eldritch Abomination. Shockingly forward thinking, Lexeas does not consider himself strictly subservient to Nemesis, the God of Chaos, but rather, the concept of Chaos himself. Naturally, this led to a steadfast dedication to Nemesis, leading him to become the dark god's herald. However, Lexeas's firm dedication was not to last. As Nemesis's sphere of influence grew, the demon could see that the god did not truly understand the meaning behind Chaos. Growing more disallusioned with each passing day, Lexeas finally spoke out against his chosen lord. Enraged, Nemesis cast Lexeas into the human world, stripped of his standing and power, save his immortality and a sliver of his shapeshifting prowess. It was like this for many a year, with Lexeas claiming to perpetuate historical events of chaos throughout his human-esque life, shamelessly crediting himself with the rise of Nobunaga Oda and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, among other tall tales. Whether or not this is the truth is unknown, although the dizzying amount of chaos that came from these incidents is undeniable, making the concept possible at the very least. While Lexeas was eagerly doing his duty on Earth, Nemesis had been cast away, his demonic minions following him to exhile**.... save for a single one... an outcast among outcasts.
Nemesis eventually learned of the presence of a girl***. A girl that, if left unchecked, would be his doom. He sent his hellish soldiers out in an attempt to find this girl, but he realised that he had a wild card.... a maverick and a loose cannon, but still a card worth playing. A messenger was sent to locate the missing Lexeas, presenting him with a deal. In exchange for his assistance and his first-hand knowledge of the human realm, Lexeas would be granted his powers back. The fallen demon pondered the proposition briefly before granting his consent.
In truth, Lexeas has no plans to hand the girl off to his "master" or his kin just so that she can be killed. On the contrary, his last strands of confidence were broken when he heard of such a plan. It is predictable, unimaginative... the God of Chaos had gotten far too sloppy. So instead, Lexeas made his own plans. The daughter of the goddess was an invaluable bargaining chip. One that, if he could grasp in his hands and control, would grant him power beyond even his wildest dreams. With this chip in hand, Lexeas would be a god himself, a true lord of Chaos, willingly sharing the world with the child's mother. After all, to be one with Chaos one must be in a constant flux, jockeying for position with Order at all times. This way, even when the forces of Order are at their strongest and Chaos is on its knees, Chaos is still winning.
Lexeas set out, plotting to seize the weapon that would grant him the power to replace the aging prisoner of an obsolete age. And also to pick up more Doritos. He had run out the night before.
Powers: Demon's Power: Lexeas's fiendish blood grants him physical power beyond any mortal's dream. The shapeshifter enjoys the benefits of a highly accelerated recovery rate and a boost to the physical prowess of whatever form he has chosen. In other words, he is stronger, faster, and more agile than the norm of whatever species he is imitating. This boost in physical strength is stacked upon whatever natural abilities the form may have.
Shroud of Madness: Sometimes the most ironclad of charades can be undone with a well-trained telepath. However, a telepath would be better off staying away from Lexeas's mind. Any attempts to read Lexeas's mind, or to delve into his thoughts through any means, gains nothing more than a chaotic mass of simultaneous, garbled thoughts, each one untrue, contradictory or just plain unintelligable in some shape or form. To a psychic, the inside of Lexeas's mind is a tangled monstrosity of pandemonium, and as such, it is quite literally unfathomable. It is highly possible that anyone that actually devoted the time to decipher the insanity would eventually wind up insane themselves.
Chaotic Lightning: Lexeas has a raw talent at controlling and creating electricity, using it for anything from adding a lethal kick to the slightest touch, hurling out a wild arc to leap from one victim to the next, to simply jumpstarting his house when the power goes out.
Unwanted Visitor: Lexeas has a knack for telepathically slipping into parts of a victim's mind that are better left untouched. Lexeas rarely uses his telepathic talents for communication, instead focusing solely on its ability to get into an enemy's head and finding out each and every weakness he can exploit. This is always used in tandem with his shapeshifting.
Shapeshifting: The penultimate talent, Lexeas's pride and joy. Lexeas's freedom to shift form is seemingly limitless save for the limitations he imposes upon himself out of principle. Lexeas uses this ability to take the physical manifestation of his enemy's greatest fears, and will not deny that he derives a sick enjoyment from it. Unless if he specifically tailors his form for the exact purpose of using it, Lexeas cannot use a talent or ability that his form should not be able to use typically. (Excluding his own powers, like his electricty manipulation.)
Equipment: Lexeas adamantly insists that his mind and shapeshifting prowess are the only weapons he'll ever need... aside from his trusty frying pan. In truth, however, he does weild one weapon, a small, seemingly glass orb, no bigger than a large marble. This orb is an extension of his shapeshifting powers. When it is implanted in a part of a victim's body, Lexeas is given free reign to mutate or manipulate the body part to his liking. The sweet spot of this ability is the back of the head at the base of the skull, the beginning of the spinal cord. By implanting here, Lexeas can gain control over a target's entire body. However, this is the hardest place to target.
Weakness: Oh Henry! bars. They work every time. However, in the case where they do not, one can always fall back on these facts:
Unless if Lexeas's enemy just so happens to be the entirety of Arachnophobics Anonymous, odds are he can't pinpoint one singular thing to turn into that would terrify multiple opponents equally short of a Lovecraftian Cthulu terror. Despite it being rumoured that Lexeas's true form actually is a Lovecraftian Cthulu terror, he insists that taking such a mind shattering appearance is really little more than a "last minute copout all the stoner shapeshifters use so that they don't flunk Terrifying Innocents 101 and get sent back to live with their disappointed shapeshifter parents as they try to spawn another cosmic horror to enforce their unrealised hopes and dreams on". In other words, he refuses to become such a beast out of principle, and it would take an incredible threat for him to go against that principle.
While they don't actually affect him any more than anything else, Lexeas has an aversion for things of holy nature. Like previously stated, it does not hurt him, he's simply uncomfortable around them, going out of his way to avoid contact with them when he can.
(* Nemesis was one of four elder gods in Lexeas's universe. He was considered the God of Chaos, and was one of the final two gods that was left standing during a long and bloody four way war for conquest over the world. Needless to say, he wound up losing.
** Aegele, the victorious goddess, sealed Nemesis and his minions away within the Earth, and has focused her attention to making sure he stays there.
*** Aegele eventually had a child, who was born on Earth among humans and raised as one. This daughter holds great power over the seal of Nemesis. Upon coming to the age of sixteen, she is to ascend to meet her mother, as well as bring her powers into fruition. Nemesis, however, learned of this, and seeks to eliminate her. Aegele, unable to divert her attention from Nemesis's seal, has sent her own followers to find and protect her daughter.)
