Name: Illerin Wormssson
Age: appears to be about 40
Gender: Male
Race: Mutated Human
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Power Level: 6
Timeline: Divergent world most times, though primarily modern and premodern times
Appearance:
Illerin is bald and his eyes are dirt brown with hints of yellow flecks in the centers. His skin is a faint grey tone and is rough and slightly baggy. His physical build can change and ranges from extreme skinniness to great musculature. His blood is a greenish brown ooze that flows slowly from his wounds when he is injured and clots very quickly.Illerin wears a highly ornamental robe to symbolize his stature as the Worm's adopted son and his titular position as the Wormlord. His robes are a rich silk that are the color of the earth deep loamy brown. They are shot through with flecks of yellow and patterns of golden thread, to symbolize the value of what the earth holds within it. The chest of the robe has a depiction of the massive gaping maw of the Worm, symbolizing it's all consuming and powerful nature. His helm is shaped like the mouth of the Worm and stylized so it seems that his grey flat face is emerging from the Worm's mouth
Height: His height can also vary but normally stays between 6 and 7 feet
Weight: His weight is also variable
Outstanding Features: His skin is a pale grey, and his face is rounded with a slit nose and almost completely flat face
Personality: Illerin has a rather unusual personality. He is quite capable of showing compassion and mercy he just choices not to in most circumstances. His world is ruled with an iron fist, but there is an understanding in most who meet him that he will show you courtesy as long as you show it in return and do not anger him.
He is slow to anger and more of a manipulative individual but like the earth itself and the Worm his wrath is horrifying to behold when it finally comes. He feels that he himself is for the most part, the most important entity with the notable exception of the worm itself.
[More to come on the personality as I figure it out a bit more.]
History: On January 15th 1949 the world changed. Some one somewhere made a mistake and then failed to clean it up. In the time immediately following World War 2 many means of destruction were tested by governments worldwide. From the Atom bomb onward tools of mass destruction raced upwards, ever upwards in power.
Not a single soul expected the the true threat to humanity lay not in it's ability to destroy but in fact in it's increasing ability to build. In 1949 the unexpected happened. The radioactive wastelands that had once been the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki gave birth to a plague. In a matter of weeks it spread across much of the globe jumping from person to person. The CHF Cerebral Hemorrhagic fever as it was called killed almost 70% of the worlds inhabitants. CHF killed by subjected the the victims to extreme bleeding in the brain that eventually caused the brain to be depressed from the pressure. It ended up at about the size of a peach by the time the CHF had finished running it's course. Throughout the population there were some who had an immunity to the disease and many lapsed into their baser instincts. Some though managed to hold together fledgeling governments and systems of order. It was these local and in some cases more than local 'kingdoms' that would later be the subject of Illerin's conquest wars.
In the midst of the chaos the world had descended into, in the midst of the swirling vortex of disease and death, something awoke. A long forgotten 'god' awoke from a millennia long slumber. The Worm stirred and with little energy left to the long forgotten, long sleeping god, it reached out to humanity searching for one it could make it's child to bring it's glory back to the world. It searched and in the mind of one of the dying men it found what it was looking for. The worm took of it's power and gave to the dying man. It gave it's legacy to Illerin.
Illerin alone of all the infected survived the disease and with the power of the worm flowing through him awoke changed. His body was no longer the weak and flabby body of a man, instead it was something else. He had been changed to be more like the worm and for a time he didn't realize the true nature of the change. He instead indulged in his baser instincts. Those for pillage and looting. With the order of the world gone Illerin figured he would make a killing with all the old riches.
It took almost a year for the worm to awaken enough to speak to Illerin properly and even then it took time for Illerin to believe that the voice speaking to him was not merely a sign of his insanity. Eventually though his skepticism was outweighed by the fact that the advice the voice gave him all made sense and he prospered as he followed it.
He began to follow the Worm's advice and slowly through trial and error learned of what a great gift he had been given. He had been made a ruler of men, something once man but now something more. He began to with the Worm's guidance build his own civilization in wreckage of the old world. The tide of conquest started slowly but as others were forced back to scavenging desperately for resources, his forces got the factories working again, the old technology running once more. With a little magic mixed in his tide of conquest swept over much of what was once the continental United States.
It seemed that nothing could stop his march to greatness and rulership of the ruins, but that was an illusion. The Worm of Earth slipped back into slumber. Though in it's slumber it left a final gift to it's child. A gateway that could be used to open portals to other worlds. When the Worm fell back into slumber the magic of all save Illerin failed and the fledgling empire fell into chaos. Illerin and his closest advisors came out on top of the struggle with the rebels and though the empire had shrunk back to it's core in the North East of the United States it was still a force to be reckoned with.
Now Illerin waits for the Worm to return and occasionally leads the invasions of and investigations of other worlds. For his existence is one that seems without end, and his ambition now holds no bounds.
Powers:
Rapid Molecular regeneration- Illerin heals at an extremely fast rate. Mortal wounds often take mere minutes to heal. Despite this he does not have an inhuman resistance to pain and so a killing blow likely will knock him unconscious for a while. If you are to cut of his head or simply blow up his head that will kill him for good.
Terramancy- Illerin is the Worm's adopted son and like his adoptive father he is capable of manipulating the earth to do his bidding. There are limits to this but it is uncertain how much damage he could do if he pushed himself to the limit. He is capable of making chunks of earth rise and fling themselves at others. He is also capable of causing extremely localized earthquakes. Like to the extent of pulling three or four people down into a fissure that opens up.
The Call- Illerin can call upon The Worm through prayer and ask for it to aid him or others. This is risky as while The Worm will often aid its son it will on occasion become angry and lash out at those it was asked to aid, or simply decide to destroy stuff, it does that sometimes.
Alteration- He can alter the base physical attributes of his body allowing him to increase his height and weight as well as his flexibility and maneuverability. No he can't dodge bullets but he is faster than the average person.
Equipment: The key to the gateway and a sword made from a metal that fell from the sky to earth. That sword is able to cut through almost anything. It was blessed by the Worm
Weakness: Illerin does not stand up well to fire and it is one thing that he cannot easily heal from. He it seems has both the unfortunate sin of pride and the unfortunate tendency to underestimate many of his enemies simply because he seems to lack the ability to do an adequate threat assessment.
