Name: Dorian
Age: Thirties
Gender: Male
Race: Dagahasi (Much like half-demons)
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Power Level: Medium - High-end 5 to Low-end 6
Timeline: Medieval
Appearance: A handsome man with tanned skin and slight scales, not all over but in some places. His fingers and toes end in talons, but he always wears gloves and boots so these aren't obvious. A single, well-polished ivory horn comes up from his forehead and brown-blonde hair hangs down his back, constantly kept clean, conditioned and brushed. His teeth are all present, perfect and straight, and his eyes are a reflective silver, entirely lacking a pupil. Every inch of his muscular body, every fold of his clean, pressed clothes shows a man who is always careful to remain at his utmost when it comes to being presentable.
He wears polished crimson ringmail with the emblem of the Empire, sleek leather pants and a black leather overcoat. His swords are sheathed at his sides and he wears fitting leather gloves and black leather boots. On his forearms are iron bracers dyed a blood red and a ruby sash is tied about his waist.
Personality: On the surface, he seems incredibly polite and proper. He never passes a lady without at least tipping his head, he never forgets to thank others and always tips well. Those that know dagahasi find that this behavior only makes them more suspicious of him. Those that don't know dagahasi, however, tend to fall for it all too easily.
In truth, he never takes an action that he doesn't feel will benefit him in some way. He obeys laws and strikes deals only because it serves him better to do so. It is easier to work toward what he really wants, to sew chaos, disease, corruption and destruction, if he doesn't have kingdoms breathing down his back in the meantime.
History: Reavers are not trained. They are not taught. They are not aspired to. No Reaver, past or present, was ever a child that once said, I want to be that when I grow up. Reavers are, from birth, some of the most vile beings the gods had ever set upon the land. Considered of blessed blood by similarly aligned beings and a scourge upon all of existence by the rest of the world, where a Reaver treads, few dare follow.
It is thought that every vile spell and cantrip in their dark arsenal is instinctually ingrained in their being from birth, and that in the course of sewing death and destruction, they unlock more and more of their horrible powers. Channeling demonic magic too horrible for even necromancers to consider touching and calling upon forces more ancient than the elements the shamans and druids summon, when they step upon the field of battle, ally and enemy alike part for them, for a Reaver has neither. An enemy is simply a foe who is not yet dead and an ally is simply a foe who has not yet outlived its usefulness.
This is what Dorian was born to. This is what he excelled at, and by easing his way into the good graces of the Dark Emperor of the North, he gained ever more freedom to do as he pleased. The Emperor's foes provided him with meat to test his blade against and the emblem of the Empire only added to the fear he spread with every step he took. He befriended the emperor, earned himself a position of trust beyond that of the man's own advisors.
And soon, he will kill him and the armies of the North will become his blade through which he will reach out and strike down the other great nations of the world, reducing them to a plagued rubble so tainted even the flames upon the corpse pyres will be black as night. Such is his plan, his carefully-guarded secret, for few can trust a Dagahasi, and none can trust a Reaver.
Powers:
He excels in physical combat and also possesses many unique spells of dark sorcery. He spreads the plague wherever he travels and, attracted to his vileness and corruption, vermin of all sorts gather about his feet whenever he remains in one place for too long.
Some of his spells include:
1. Wasting Plague - The wasting plague will diminish the victim's energy and thus their longevity in a battle. Reavers working concert can quickly overcome a victim and remove their ability to retaliate in combat.
2. Shadow Cloak - This infestation gives the caster a small bit of protection against some forms of magic. It can only be cast upon the Reaver himself, and no other.
3. Divine Soul - The use of this infestation allows the user to determine the moral convictions of the target. A weaker infestation, it is not used for combat, but only for knowledge.
4. Morph Leg - A particularly unusual, though quite useful, infestation, this power allows the Reaver to literally "grow" another leg for a brief time. This extra limb gives the Reaver the ability to travel further and faster.
5. Nightmare Curse - One of the most powerful and feared Reaver infestations, the nightmare curse unleashes a number of horrifying effects upon the Reaver's victims. The demonic energies of various types consume the user, tainting their soul, sapping their strength and speed, and poisoning and diseasing the victim's body.
6. Oblivion - One of the most potent of the Reaver infestations, this power channels great amounts of demonic energies into powerful blasts to be unleashed against a Reaver's victims. The sheer power of the infestation has been known to leave a taint upon the target's soul even if they manage to survive the damage unleashed by the infestation.
7. Psychic Stupor - An insidious Reaver power, this infestation attacks the mental faculties of their victim, rendering those with magical abilities somewhat incapicitated within their casting. A particularly long-lasting infestation, there is no way to cure the stupor once infested upon a target.
8. Soul Rot - One of the more powerful Reaver infestations, the Reaver infects their victim with a terrifying curse that slowly consumes their spirit and slowly kills the body. A truly vicious infestation, there is no way to cure a soul rot save death once it is infested upon a target.
9. Torment Blast - A particularly powerful infestation, the Reaver channels their inherent demonic energies into a single focused blast. One of their more powerful infestations, it's said that only the blackest of hearts can employ the torments, as the power will turn upon those not thoroughly corrupted.
10. Demonsmite - Channeling their demonic natures, a Reaver can use the inherent energy of their being to release various infestations upon a target. Demonsmite is a particularly potent offensive infestation that unleashes a powerful blast of demonic energy against the target.
11. Extinguish - This infestation blots out all light immediately surrounding the Reaver in a brief burst of demonic energy. All light sources around him are extinguished.
12. Soul Drain - This insidious infestation is particularly useful in desperate situations to a Reaver. Not only does the demonic energy strike at a victim, but the vitality drained by the power of the infestation is transferred to the Reaver. While the benefits gained by soul drain are not earth-shatteringly powerful, the timely application of this infestation can save a Reaver's skin.
13. Nightmare Mantle - This potent infestation creates a magical field of magical energy around a Reaver or a victim of his choosing. The swirling mantle of demonic force is fueled by the power of nightmares, and creates a powerful armor-like effect around the Reaver or his victim.
14. Disease - This lesser Reaver infestation infects the Reaver's target with a slow-acting and life-sapping magical disease. While not especially powerful compared to greater infestations, this power is effective against weaker foes, and has the added potential to be spread through an unaware populace.
15. Venom - This infestation afflicts the Reaver's victim with a minor magical poison. While not as powerful or effective as their greater infestations, this is a particularly insidious ability to employ against weak foes for sheer value of torment.
16. Dread Blast - This infestation unleashes powerful demonic energies against a target in combat. While it is a potent infestation, it's use must be tempered by some wisdom as it is only truly effective against those of pure hearts. Using this power against another evil soul will only anger them, and will result in them attacking you.
17. Soul Taint - This particularly vicious infestation afflicts a Reaver's victim with a foul aura that saps away at their resistances to certain magic and impairs their combat abilities. The dark aura is also believed to interfere with ones connection to their deity, as it's not favorable in some faiths to be so affected.
18. Demon Strength - Using the energies inherent in their demonic nature, a Reaver can infest themselves with a potent energy that greatly enhances their strength. As a Reaver grows in power, so too does the amount of energy this infestation channels through their body or the body of one infested.
19. Frost Claw - This Reaver infestation conjures forth a sharp talon of magical cold. The claw attacks once per infestation, striking the target with a blast of cold that saps away their strength as well as injuring them.
20. Nightmare Swarm - A moderately powerful, yet effective, Reaver infestation, nightmare swarm floods the area surrounding a Reaver with the demonic energy manifesting in the form of their foes nightmares. The pulse of energy unleashed strikes everyone in the immediate vicinity of the Reaver, and while not as powerful as their greater infestations, nightmare swarm is quite useful when in combat with numerous foes.
21. Demon Armor - This minor Reaver infestation channels the demonic forces of their makeup into minor protective energies. Given their destructive natures, this spell often serves a Reaver well in combat.
22. Wither - This particularly devastating Reaver infestation is used only when a target has been incapacitated or is near death. The necromantic power of the Reaver's infestation infects the target with a horrifying wasting disease, condemning them to a slow and rather painful death. There is no known cure in the realms for such an attack.
23. Knife Swarm - This lesser Reaver infestation conjures a small cluster of whirling blades at an opponent.
24. Demonbane - Demons infest the victims body and begin to eat it away from within. No cure has been found in the realms. The victim will slowly wither to nothing from the inside out.
25. Protection Good - This reduces damage from good-aligned foes and improves overall magic resistance.
Equipment: He carries two swords. The first is an ornate silver longsword, effective when he must strike down one of his own or for public display. Made by elves, it has powerful magic woven through its smithing. The other is a crimson-bladed longsword that makes him move faster, as if affected by haste.
Weakness: Anti-evil magic and silver. Because he wears gloves, wielding his sword or wearing silver rings doesn't harm him.
