Name: Jim "Kichirou" Wales
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Power Level: 5
Timeline: Modern/ Soul Society Timeline
Appearance: Tall, tanned, and fit from his duty in the military, he has quite an imposing figure. His gruff face is topped by a mop of brown hair and lined with a trimmed beard and mustache of the same color. He wears the standard Soul Reaper uniform which is a black gi with a white gi underneath and a belt at his waist tthat holds his zanpakto.
Personality: Easy going, funny, sometimes even a little sarcastic. Jim is generally the loudest and most obnoxious person in a room at any one point, with the exception of the presence of his superiors.
History: As a Naval officer, Jim was always moving around. On one assignment in Japan, he was killed in a pile-up in Tokyo. His soul was trapped in the area, but not for long. Soon, a Soul Reaper, which are defenders of the spiritual realm who free trapped souls and fights tainted spirits, came to his rescue. He was then sent to the Soul Society, the home 'realm' of the Soul Reapers
When he arrived, to his dismay, he was surrounded by only Japanese people. He didn't speak much Japanese and couldn't communicate well until he came across someone who was bilingual and would teach him. After about a year, he could communicate pretty well.
He decided to live on like he did in his life on Earth, so he entered the academy for the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, which was the formal name for all Soul Reapers currently working in the Soul Society. First, he had to go through the Academy to become a full-fledged Soul Reaper.
The Academy was built to develop the would-be Reapers in all the ways they would need it. Such as swordsmanship and kidou, Soul Reaper magic. He excelled at swordplay and physical kidou, but struggled in hadou, projectile, and bakudou, binding. Even with this small problem, he passed through with ease and was assigned to Squad 11, which was known for its vicious and powerful warriors. Naturally, he was ecstatic.
Upon entry, he took up every mission he could. With Hollow, tainted spirits, extermination being his favorite. His prowess in battle and the stories he told of the four horsemen quickly earned him a new nickname: The Fifth Horseman.
Time went by quickly for Jim, he gave up liquor in pursuit of his new hobbie and even began working toward achiveing Bankai, the final stage of zanpakto transformation. It took quite a while, a decade in fact, but he finally achieved his bankai. He thought that there was nothing more for him, but he decided that becoming Captain would be his next goal, but for now he would just have to settle for Fifth Seat.
Powers/Abilities:
~Flash Step: A basic speed technique. This allows the user to move at a pace that causes him/her to bee seen as nothing but a faint blur.
~Feigned Intoxication: He constanly wears a flask at his hip and most in the Soul Society know him as a drunk.[Even though he recently quit.] He uses this to his advantage and quite often pretends to be slobbering hammered to catch the opponent off guard.
Equipment:
Tetsuhiba, his Zanpakto
~Normal: A medium sized broadsword with a slight upper curve to it.[Falchion, basically]
~Released: Tetsuhiba becomes a pair of clawed gauntlets. They have three foot-long blades between each of his knuckles and a fourth that curves back to follow along his forearm. At this point, the extraphysical elemants of his weapon are revealed. In it's Shikai, or second stage of transformation, Tetsuhiba enhances his ability to move at high speeds, which comes in handy for an even faster and more controlled Flash Step.
~Bankai:[Kyodai Tetsuhiba] A pair of snakes slither up his arms, down his chest, and around his legs to show that the transformation has occurred. His claws are now decorated with corbra heads surrounding with the hood forming blades on either side of each forearm. Behind this are two plated full-arm manacles to provide protection and an excellent range of motion. On his chest is a thick mail in the shape of snake scales followed by similar manacles on his legs. His feet, from the knees down, have a large curved blade accompanied by several other suplementary blades to ensure maximum use. The effects of his Bankai are similar to his Shikai only enhanced more. Utilizing this and the Flash Step, he can move at blinding speeds.
Weakness:He is durable, but just as any other Soul Reaper, he can be killed.
He isn't very good at kidou, so naturally he can't defend against it very well, either.
