Name: Walter Tirpitz also known as the Comic
Age: 27 (yes he is actually 27 no immortal godlings here)
Gender: male
Race: Human
Alignment: Chaotic good.
Power level: 7
Timeline: Modern but could in theory end up in other times and places, this mostly happens by accident.
Appearance: He stands a rather ordinary 5 foot 9, and his skin is very pale, almost corpse pale it has been said. It comes from spending too much time locked inside with his books, the other noticeable traits about his appearance include his almost extreme gauntness and the fact that his mostly reddish hair is shot through with strings of almost white hair. His face is equally plain and his features have a sort of fluidity to them, almost as if they are not firmly attached to his face. He wears normal clothing most of the time but when he takes up his role as a hero he wears a different outfit.
Walters costume is a classic hero costume or so he likes to think of it. Unwilling to make a new costume and wanting elements of some of his favorite comic book characters in it, he decided to take pieces of existing costumes and mix them together. The end result is somewhat hideous to everyone but him. The costume has spider silk padding armor beneath a green and black spandex suit. He has a cape that is golden, and a mirrored fishbowl helmet he copied from Mysterio. He also copied his gloves from batman, they have those same ridges that can be used to stop blades from hitting him.
Personality: Walter is for the most part a normal individual personality though he is regarded as eccentric by nearly everyone who knows him and on first impression he certainly seems rather strange. He has an obsession with comic books and comic book heros and he never really out grew his love of them, He sees the world in black and white, to him what faint shades of grey there are only apply to those who are good or work to achieve good. He idolizes the heroes of the books and strives to live his life in as close to the way his heroic idols do as he can. He also has the annoying personal habit of religiously speaking only in lines that a comic book hero has spoken before, though he has been known to quote star wars at times as well. That means that often his terms for real world villains coincide with the names of comic book villains, it can also make him difficult to understand when he talks. He also truly believes that the comic book heroes exist and that should he perform well enough they will eventually accept him as one of their own.
History:
Walter was born 27 years ago and he even as a young child he was not entirely normal as he never liked to socialize with others and he kept his distance from them, he also had an abnormally high metabolism eating massive amounts without ever gaining any weight. You could always find him off on his own. Even at the age of 3 he was constantly toddling into his older brothers room to take his comic books and look at them. His parents were the sort who didn't really take an active interest in their children as long as Walter and his brother were fairly clean and didn't get into trouble. Provided they did that, his parents left them to their own devices.
Walter learned how to read from comic books and he learned his morality and personal code from them as well, given his parents' disinterest in raising him or his brother he latched onto the books for education. By the time he started elementary school he was reading fluently and his early rigid code of looking at the world caused problems. He was socially shunned because he didn't fit the established groups of the school society and so instead lurked around the outside of the social setting.
He with no friends turned again to his books and he began to as he got older do little chores for other family members and neighbors so he could get money to buy more comic books from the comic store down the street from his house. He had gained the child's belief that superheroes were real and he never quite gave up that belief. He began to with the constant social rejection believe that the comic book world was the real world and that the world he lived in was the fake one.
It was near the end of his high school career that he finally sought out a real job other than mowing neighbor's lawns. He was in luck that the comic store that he had been the best customer of for years was hiring just at that time. He was a shoe in for the spot and it seemed to him like heaven, he could read all the comics he wanted as long as he stayed in the store and didn't neglect any customers.
He had worked in the comic shop for a few weeks and then one day he stayed late, he had become engrossed in one of the comic omnibuses and he didn't leave the store until nearly midnight. He began to walk home, it was only a mile or two from the store to his house and he had walked it many times before. Though this time he was to have bad luck.
He ran a foul of a group of would be muggers. There were three of them and they had been waiting for the last few hours for somebody to walk by. When Walter did they emerged from the alley he walked by and caught up with him, he had been so lost in his own world that he didn't notice them until one of them grabbed him and yanked him into another alley.
He was surprised and shocked and his shock became even greater when one of the three muggers pulled a gun and pointed it at him. They told him to give them all of his money and he emptied what little he had in his pockets and gave it to them. The one with the gun was angered by the lack of actual money he received and he decided to take it out on Walter. The gunman pointed the gun and fired. The bullet struck a glancing blow to the side of one of Walter's shoulders and tore a groove in the outer part of the muscle.
He was knocked to the ground by the impact and while he was lying there he felt a bizarre sensation. He felt as if a peculiar warmth was spreading through his body and he suddenly realized he didn't want to die. He moved with a speed that shocked both himself and the muggers who could only see him as a blurred streak. He snatched the gun from the muggers hand and crushed it as he threw it away from them. He then punched the man who had shot him and the man was sent back into the wall with a sickening thud. The other two muggers with expressions of terror turned and ran dragging their injured leader along with them.
Walter was left staring at himself in amazement even more amazing his wounded shoulder healed itself in moments. He walked home in a daze and thankful for his parents being asleep and not really taking interest in him he disposed of his soiled clothes cleaned up and hid in his room. He went to the comics for advice on what to do with his new powers, and two options presented themselves. The first was to hide them and the second was to join the ranks of those heroes he believed were already out there somewhere. He of course opted for the second and he sought more knowledge from his vast comic collection, it seemed that he was to be a hero after all and as that knowledge sank in Walter was ecstatic.
He practiced with his powers in secret and gradually improved them, discovering that they like almost anything else took practice with to master. He grew adept with them and after about a year of his comic book training he decided to make his first active attempt to fight crime. That first attempt didn't go so well and not only did the minor thieves he was attempting to catch get away, but he was nearly picked up by the police himself.
He as before visited his comic books for advice and he found a great wealth of knowledge. He was reminded that heroes often were not accepted by society and that heroes such as bat man had originally failed in their attempts to fight crime. Heartened once more by his books he again made attempts to perform what he saw as his duty as a hero. This time he was met with more success and he continued to work at what he saw as his duty.
He moved out of his parents house after finishing Highschool and he continued to work at the comic book store in the city suburbs. He owns a rather meager little apartment but he feels that his material pleasure is irrelevant in the face of his hero work. By day he worked in the comic store and by night he drove through the city with a police scanner and listened to the reports, and then went to help. He over the years since then has refined and honed his powers, though he admits he still does not know all there is to know about himself.
He adopted a costume like most of his comic book superhero idols. He has encountered a fair number super powered villains and several super powered heros as well, despite his failing to find any of the heros mentioned in the comics he still believes they are out there and that if he does his duty well enough they will find him and adopt him into the family of heros.
Powers:
Augmentation- Walter has an enhanced form of adrenaline that he can regulate the use of. This enhanced form of adrenaline gives him the ability to do physical feats far beyond that of normal humans, while using it he can run far faster, jump farther, hit harder, and do many other things beyond the scope of normal human capabilities. He can control the level of augmentation but the more he pushes himself the more of a price he has to pay when he finally comes down off that adrenaline rush.
Regeneration- Walter is capable of regenerating and healing from injuries. His cells regenerate and heal and an extremely high rate and can allow him to recover from wounds that would be fatal to most people.
Martial arts- Walter has over the past several years been trained in hand to hand combat, while he is not the most skilled at the martial arts he can hold his own provided he is not fighting a master and the mind training helps him control his powers more easily.
Equipment: his costume which has a built in grappling hook launcher and several other highly useful superhero gadgets. Walter is willing to use a gun and he does use a magnum revolver with speed loaders provided there are no innocents he could easily hit during the conflict.
Weakness:
The energy Walter uses for his powers comes from the foods he consumes. He regenerates his energy rapidly and in doing so consumes massive amounts of food. The food goes to fuel his energy reserves and so he remains gaunt despite the massive amounts of food he eats almost constantly when not on the job. Walter's body is still human and while his stored energy can be used to regenerate injuries he only has so much of it and once he runs out there is no more healing. Also if he was to be shot in the head and the bullet was to go through his head armor and destroy the brain he would die. He also has a strict hero code, he will never hurt the innocent unless it is directly involved in saving the specific person hurt. He also is difficult to understand as when in costume he only speaks in phrases and words that a comic book character has used at some point. If you could confront him with proof that his heroic Idols do not exist you would effectively render him an impotent hero at least until he can convince himself that he was lied to.
