Name: Marx "Refractor" Simean
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Neutral Good
Power Level: Mid-Tier High
Timeline: Modern
Appearance: Outside of uniform, Marx lets his dirty blonde hair go loose, showing it to be long, scraggly and a bit curly. He normally wears a light blue hawaiian shirt over a black undershirt, with dark grey cargo pants. His eyes are a steely blue. He has a slight athletic build, which comes from the almost constant exercise he puts in to counteract his almost constant eating. In uniform, he wears a light blue spandex suit that seems to shimmer. He wears a stainless steel helmet with a silvery visor that covers his eyes. His hair is tied back, but it is still a large, tangly mess.
Personality: Marx acts a bit immature, but he's a born leader and has a good head on his shoulders. He always seems to be hungry, and the only time he doesn't let food interfere with the other aspects of his life is when he's fighting. Even other superhero tasks, like rescues, take a backseat when lunch is involved, as such, he's been known to do things like roast some marshmellows while getting a few kids out of a burning building. Marx sides with whatever side he feels is the winning one, but has recently cut this down to any good side that's winning, as he's found that heroes get into better fights and evil rarely finds the value of a full meal every hour on the hour.
History: Marx was a former member of an organization known as Broken Mirror, which was headed by a supervillain of the same name. Broken Mirror was experimenting with some of his henchmen, and Marx was one of them. WHen his experiments gave Marx his powers, he made the young man part of his elite. He soon realized Marx was more powerful than him, so he made sure that he did not try to betray him by seeding lies in the back of his head, playing on Marx's weaknesses and convincing him that he is working for the ones that are in the right. Marx soon became Broken Mirror's right hand man, and it was then that he met Baker's Dozen. Using his powers, Marx decimated the team, traumatizing Swinger, cutting off Powderkeg's rage, and hospitalizing Cookie. The other two members at that time, Farina and Button, managed to escape. Together, the two girls almost defeated Broken Mirror. This was a major ego boost for Marx, as the man that always lorded his power over Marx was almost defeated by the two weakest members of the group he had almost eradicated. Marx moved without hesitation to sieze control over the Broken Mirror organization, now seeing himself more powerful than anything even Broken Mirror himself could ever dream of. The battle between the two was fierce, and when the recovered Baker's Dozen intervened, both villains were near death. The heroes intervened and chose to save Marx's life. Marx escaped and thought about this encounter long and hard, pondering why the group bothered to save him instead of letting him die, especially everything that he put them through. The next time Marx encountered the group, they fought to a draw. Six months later, Marx encountered Baker's Dozen again and was finally defeated by the group. He saw that their reasons for fighting were far more sound than anything he had heard before, and from then on became a slightly unofficial member of Baker's Dozen, joining the group proper after a few weeks.
Powers: Mirror Travel: Marx can travel between mirrors and other reflective surfaces, traveling between other reflective surfaces can be risky, because Marx won't know if they will stay reflective during travel, and the reflection is required.
Mirror Clairvoyance: When Marx is in between mirror "portals", he can see what every other mirror can see.
Light Manipulation: Marx has total control over the elements of light and illusion. He is an expert at tricking the naked eye into seeing anything.
Mirror Energy: Marx's own type of energy. He has energy manipulation powers, but the energy he uses has odd properties. For example, he can create walls with it to make a shield like move, but they reflect projectile attacks. Even when not in wall form they do this. Also, this type of energy seems to disregard barriers like walls.
Mirror Shield: Creates a spherical force field of mirror energy, which reflects any projectile attack. Does not stand up against blunt hits.
Glass Manipulation: Has total control over glass, including an almost psychokenetic ability to make it move by sheer force of will. His most common attack with this is shattering a large amount of glass and then using the sharp pieces as a swarm of blades.
Movement: Combining his abilites, Marx can achieve an odd, flight like movement. He can also move at a much higher speed than running when doing this.
Weapons: None, sometimes he carries a bunch of glass with him to use.
Weakness: Weaker when there is not any glass in the area, also not as effective in the dark.
