Lucian raised an eyebrow. "...How is that possible? I mean, the snake end... and the... how... how is it done!?"
Colin's hand immediately shot up as the young man grinned mischeviously. "I know! I know! Pick me!"

"I try not to think about it much," Maxwell admitted. "That girl's brother seems to have an answer for you if you really want it, though."

Lucian turned up his nose as he looked at Colin. "Erm... no, I don't think I do..." He said eventually. "I would ask how he knows, but something tells me I don't want that answer either."
"You sure there, bud?" Colin asked cheerfully. "It's entertaining to the extreme!"
Cassandra merely sighed and turned Colin around. "Oh no you don't, "brother"... We are going to leave and get back to work..."

Maxwell rubbed his chin for a moment, then glanced back at Lucian before returning his attention once more to them. "And will you be tracking down more of these totemas?"

"Of course we are." Cassandra said. "Why else would we have tracked down this one? Not much point in settling for one out of five."

The Fire Guardian turned toward Lucian once more. "What do you think? They know more about them and, I'm assuming, they know how to find them, and if they've been severed once before and your world remained fine, then surely there's no harm in severing them a second time."
