The air began to quake with the ferocity of the trumpet blasts that sounded over the tremendous crowd's cheers. Down below the in the arena the one of the four gates opened and out walked a knight whose platinum armor gleamed dully in the midday sun. Raising his polished sword into the air as he reached the center, he addressed the roaring crowd, his voice, one of a great volume, "Welcome all to the event you all have been anticipating all year, 'The Kokuryu Tournament'. It is here, in this legendary arena, forged for the gods themselves to fight, that warriors of legend and power will test their might against each other. These walls will either make or break each of our combatants!" And with that he plunged the polished sword into the stone below.
The crowd was set ablaze in a fury of cheers. It was here that each and every year they saw their idols, heroes, and self-proclaimed gods fight to the bloody end. Above the roar the knight's voice roared, " LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!"
The other three gates opened and out steeped the combatants towards the knight, each being separated previously by power levels-two on the left, six in the middle, and eight on the right.
" FOR ROUND ONE, WE HAVE....Daniel VS Christina, Dawn VS Havvok, and Obadiah VS Carrie! COMBATANTS TAKE YOUR PLACES!" He yelled for all to hear, when it had become quited once more. This however, only incited more cheers and cry of happiness for the upcoming battles.
The remaining people grouped around the middle of the arena where a platform had now risen under the sword. It was wide enough to allow them all to stay on top of it, with plenty of moment room. It began to hover off the ground at first, and then rose up higher as the walls below came up. The arena became separated into three strips for the fighters to fight in, each being about the size of a modern football field. The walls that separated them were transparent yet as hard as (or harder) than the strongest metal that many had seen.
" READY, SET," Called the Knight from far above, " FIGHT!!!"
--------------------------------------------------
Carrie shifted her feet on the dry dirt, getting a feel for her surroundings. She knew how she would attack, and how to find her opponent's faults. She knew her body could last longer than it seemed. She unsheathed he short sword and bowed to he opponent, signaling that she would attack once he had bowed. The blade was tense of electrical energy and just a little of fire and water, yet she did not know whether or not her opponent would be supernaturally strong or not. She would just have to wait and see.
