Arthur's eyes widened and he withdrew slightly, blinking back the intensity of Jack's shout. Unsure if there was some sort of greeting he was unaccustomed to, Arthur shouted back, "THIS IS HE!"
Arthur was not used to raising his voice so, and his yell came out as more like a loud, low-pitched, squeal. He felt no embarrassment however, possibly because he did not feel time allowed it. He did not want the conversation to drag on, since he had quite the curious guest awaiting him upstairs.

The notes had many quibbles of all sorts: Some listed interesting chemical properties of certain materials describing their various uses (much none too useful so much as unusual), discussion of the make-up of cells of inorganic materials (atoms and their subatomic components being the more common nomenclature). Another note was written in a fit of frustration, about the apparent inverse relationship between knowledge of the cells of one component and another. A crumpled letter on the ground is the only note in the room not written by Arthur, which details worry over the loss of a dozen stagecoaches near Lively Grove, as well as personal inquiries as to the condition and happenings in Arthur's life.
