Ah, so John would fit right in. xD Yep. But the magic users of Qualon havent discovered magic that can bend reality, but they do have illusion magic. Reality magic is like...a god's power. So intersting things might happen.

xD Yeahhhh... I can see it now...
John: *conjures a door made of red oak with a highly decorated fanlight on top* There we go, a pretty decent door that we can put in here.
Qualon: ... How did you do that?
John: ... Magic, you are a mage yourself, not sure why you didn't just make your own door.
Qualon: ... .... ... *bows down*
John: Why are you bowing down to me? What is going on here?
Qualon: You bent reality to your will, that is a god's power.
John: *curses at himself for not reading up on Qualon magic*
Note to self: Ask more about Qualon magic.

I wonder how Qualon magic and Monk Chi energy would interact...

Veros: That or if someone of power saw you and thought you were a god, they might try to stab you in the back or obliterate you, just to gain that power. When they don't they would know you weren't a god and chalk it up to you using an illusion.
Oathkeeper: Umm, they would equate it to you using psionic abilities. In Qualon the use of telekinesis and telepathy is done by use of psi eneregy ( I really need to update some of my characters !) which is like chi if I'm not mistaken. As for the clashing of powers, it will be like forms of energy interacting. Their spells are a sort of life energy (A part of their souls actually) converted to what they need it to be or do.
----------
As for it starting today, that's a no-go. I'm still finalizing things and making sure everything is ready. On the bright side, if this intrests anyone else, they can join now! The cut-off date for entries when we start will be when the first battle starts.

What happens when the door remains means after his death? Chalk it up to the soul as he died went into it to maintain it?

What happens when the door remains means after his death? Chalk it up to the soul as he died went into it to maintain it? No, they would then think that the rumors of killing a god and gaining its power is false. Then continue about their business. It is a known fact among Qualonians that after you die your souls is sent to the second plane of existence where you stand before the gate of the afterlife. If your soul is not fully intact when you get there you wait til it heals and are then forced through. Otherwise you are pushed through the gate and live on the otherside.

Ah, useful tid-bit of knowledge. Though after said death, they'd spread rumors of it being false... And would probably please the goddess that a god was killed.
What awaits on the other side if you don't mind me asking?

>_> What I want to know, Veros, is why you're so obsessed with making these people think you're a god.

I'm not. ^^;
I'm asking alot of magic related questions via PMs to avoid said belief, so I know how John can fight without drawing forth various strong emotions from the Quolonians. Asking to avoid that whole issue, including the people that would try to kill him for his power.
Among with opinions are certain tactics of magical fighting.

Ah, useful tid-bit of knowledge. Though after said death, they'd spread rumors of it being false... And would probably please the goddess that a god was killed. What awaits on the other side if you don't mind me asking? The place where the gate sits is a barren wasteland of sorts. All misty and nothing for miles and miles. The gate is the only feature there and the gatekeepers. When a Qualonian's soul passes through that gate it merges with the universe. They become one with it as have all the other qualonians from the past. They also learn everything about anything. They learn about how Qualon created the universe, how physics works in scientifical terms, how to do anything they want, etc. Though they gain this, once they fuse with the universe itself they cannot move back to the 1st or second plane. They have become stuck. But really it's a whole 'nother world where you mind creates whatever you want it to. This process of forming with the univers takes away everything from the soul but the thinking part. All the unneeded pieces are stripped away and turned into raw energy that is collected in the gate itself. As a newborn takes it's first breath a piece goes into it and becomes it's soul. That piece will grow as the child grows and become like a normal soul.

I'm reminded of the mythos behind the world of Septerra, world shells rotating about a physical axis that connects north and south, and through the middle, the core. The rotation of the world shells powers the core like a massive generator, which manages the rotation speed and location with the precision of a supercomputer. The excess energy is then radiated back out into the shells for use by the residents.
The Gate seems very much like it, but what would happen if someone who wasn't a Qualon passed through the gate, or wasn't dead when they attempted to do so? I assume this gate has a physical form somewhere?

The Gate seems very much like it, but what would happen if someone who wasn't a Qualon passed through the gate, or wasn't dead when they attempted to do so? I assume this gate has a physical form somewhere? Uh the gate itself is just a gateway. It's attuned to the souls of Qualonians to prevent the deconstruction of anything else other than the souls of Qualonians. If a powerful enough psychic entered the gate and became one with the universe they could reek massive havoc. Since they would at once know everything and have experience using their mind they could possibly make it back to the second plane. There they could absorb the souls entering the gate. This would prevent energy from entering the gate and as children are born the eneregy would eventually be used up, making birth inpossible. That soul is what keeps Qualonians alive after their first breath. Good thing there are Gatekeepers (Kopa and Shoka were that at once. They got bored though...) and that the gate is attuned only to Qualonian souls. (One of the reasons Olron can't cross over fully) The gate iteslf is a physical thing. It just store the energy and releases it down into the lower plane. The gate is protected by sort of a reflect spell. Any malicious attack directed at it is reflected and multiplied ten fold. If you do destroy it, it is recreated at another point on the plane. --- [EDIT:] eabii.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=characters&action=display&thread=1102Carrie's sister Ashal is the General that serves under Carrie. The above character sheet gives a rough idea of what she is like. It's pretty much correct except for her history. It's been changed a little here and there. Just know they are sisters. I don't plan to use her other than an NPC for the battles then the rest of the time it should be me controlling other NPCs and Carrie.

Put me on Hiatus until further note please.
I can not seem to make a post for this regardless of how long I spend trying... until I manage to figure out a post I need to be removed or sent on Hiatus until I can make a post.
