True's staring was probably rude, but it wasn't as if she cared about that sort of thing, and the lady didn't seem to mind.
"...Would it break if I punched it? I'm not gonna punch it."

The woman chuckled. "I doubt it, but given that it is a very expensive piece of experimental technology, I wouldn't care to find out."

"Oh, eh." The girl eased off the table, still staring unabashedly. "Could the computer control your brain?"

"The computer isn't an intelligent entity," the woman pointed out, "and while we're working on accessing files mentally, that's very far ahead of where we are now. The one-way commands I mentioned is all that can be done.'

"But what if it was an intelligent entity? And it could, like, have these technology tentacles stuck in your head." She suddenly pulled her hair and staggered around to illustrate. "And they'd squeeze in your brain and you'd turn into an alien with a big head! And it'd controool yooou... What year is this? Do you have aliens yet?"

*Cassandra* "Yes," the blue-haired girl agreed. "Yes, I would. Compared to many things, as of yet, this has been somewhat -" Another quake interrupted her, forcing her to hold to the wall again until it passed before she could finish. "- bland." *Jake* "Short of destroying the solar platform," the blonde girl answered, "there isn't another way, not with the controls locked. And if we did that, the disruption of the sun would wipe out all the planets in this solar system, anyway." *Cassandra* "Let's hope it only gets even more boring." Cassandra said, wobbling on the spot shakily. *Jake* Jake sighed in frustration. "Don't destroy it..." He noted. "Can't stop it..." The alien frowned and paced. "Unlock the controls." He said, as if it were as simple as pushing a button.

*Velia* The captain chuckled good naturedly at her enthusiasm. "Well, I was actually coming by wondering if you were interested in seeing more of it tonight, but if you're tired and need your rest, we can do it tomorrow." "Oh...really?" Velia paused to think on this. That was a very tempting offer. Now that Calypso wasn't around--hopefully!--to ruin all her fun and kill anyone she tried to make friends with, any sort of opportunity struck her as appealing. And, she most definitely did want to see the rest of this castle. "I've never been in a castle...," She repeated softly to the captain, as though for emphasis, as though she were trying to convince herself to go with him. It was true she'd just changed and gotten into bed, but...If she waited until tomorrow, would she get a personal tour or have to do it with the others? She didn't enjoy crowds very much... "I would like to go now," Was her eventual answer, "And I thank you for the generous offer! S-shall I change back into something more, um..." She paused, trying to think of the right word. "Well, tour-worthy?"

The woman chuckled like one would chuckle at the antics of a child showing their age. "Kiddo, everyone knows there's no intelligent life on other planets. And it's the year 43,751 by the Veshet Calendar. 2213 if you're going by the Meinoron calendar. This science station is in the middle of Vesh, the capitol city.
*Cassandra*
The blue girl nodded in agreement and when the tremor subsided, she progressed on down the hallway. She raised her lantern all the way up. "I think I might see the front gate ahead," she informed Cassandra, though the other girl wouldn't be able to make anything out of the shadows ahead of them.
*Jake*
"They're trying!" the young woman insisted, motioning to several soldiers who were already tearing the exterior frame apart to try to get to the inside.
*Velia*
The captain smiled kindly. "It's entirely up to you. The castle is mostly asleep by now. Almost no one else will see you."

"Oh." The android released her finally clean hair. "I was just there, I think. In a castle that no longer exists with nobility that doesn't yet. I could be wrong, I get so confused." She paused, as if to digest whatever she just said, expression wholly serious.
"...Is Menramen the Common Era to your Before, or just the Fahrenheit to your Celsius?"

Again, the woman shook her head. "The Meinorons are a tribal people, not an era. They call their home in the Meinoron Crater to the far south Earth, as far as we can tell. They are a very territorial people and have been trying to steal land from Veshet through force since they first showed themselves."

"No, they look like you or me, really," she answered, "which is why the idea that some scholars have put forth that they are actually from space is ridiculous. The meteor shower that precursored their first foray out of the crater, they suggest, was actually their ships landing, but that's equally preposterous. Far more likely, they took the shower as some divine sign from the heavens that they were supposed to attack."

*Velia*
"Oh!" That settled that, then. "I-I'll just go like this, then. As long as I won't be walking around and having people laugh at me or thinking I'm silly." By habit, she took one last look around her room, then stepped out the door and closed it softly. Her feet were bare, she realized, but then, in a castle there weren't going to be any harsh surfaces to walk on, right? Right. Peering up at the captain curiously, she questioned, "You don't think I'm silly, do you?"
