"I don't see why I'd think poorly of you." Keberii said, shrugging. "I don't support Paladins that think that everyone else in the world should be following the Paladin way of life. Really, it makes us little better than the tyrants we battle that hide behind their own codes of conduct. I could admonish you, tell you that your good deeds should be a reward of its own. But seldom does that reward help you clothe your back and fill your belly. So you place glory and suspense over the betterment of others, at the very least, you actually still consider helping others to be something important. It's sickening how many people don't..."
The paladin then gave a mischevious grin, blushing a little. "Besides, if there weren't needy people in the world, there wouldn't be any adventures worth having, so in the end, searching for one works just as well as searching for the other! Not to mention, if I were being entirely honest, I'd say I'm not exactly here solely for selfless reasons..."

But Samson just shrugged it off. "If there aren't that many people interested in helping others, then it's a good thing we're on the job, right?" The large man grinned and leaned back toward Kerebii. "And there's nothing wrong with enjoying what you do. There's nothing selfish about that."

"Actually, what I meant was that my being here doesn't have anything to do with enjoying my job. It doesn't have anything to do with it at all, its just a convenient coincidence." Keberii admitted.

"Ah," he observed, but this still didn't seem to bother him any. "We all need some time off sometimes, be it just for a break or because there's something that needs doing, no matter what we're taking time off from. Even a paladin's still mortal, and the gods didn't build us to go without rest."

With a puzzled look, and his fingers consistantly tapping on the table, Ruthek was beginning to wonder how long he might have to wait for the man the innkeeper told him about. Looking about, besides what were definately the normal patrons, he certainly didn't see anyone that would be noted as obviously new in town. Well there was that drow that just walked in a moment before, but he was sure the innkeeper said 'he', didn't he? Hmm, well it certainly wouldn't be the two that just entered right? From such a friendly conversation he'd overheard parts of, they certainly didn't seem like they'd just gotten here. But then who was he waiting for...actually yes, he had no idea who he was waiting for. Aha! There's the idea. Ask the innkeeper what the man, it was a man right? Anyways, what the person looked like. Genious! Oh, the food is cold. That's right, I was hungry. Am. He jerked his hand over his food and muttered a word before finally getting around to eating his now warmed up meal. Nevertheless, I simply need to be awake early tomorrow and I'll be sure to run into him somewhere near that Sunlit Citadel.

The inn went silent as the drow stepped through the doors, many of the patrons giving her a suspicious look. Many had heard the tales of surface drow turning away from evil, but there were many more about the depraved evil of their culture. Garon set down the glass and approached the back, eying the elven woman as if trying to read her. She had the dusky skin of a drow, and was clearly elven in nature, he thought, but her ears weren't as sharp, her face was softer and she stood a little taller than most drow.
“Rather late for a young lady like yourself to be out alone isn't it?” He raised an eyebrow and reached for a glass, “So what can I get for you m'lady?” Pallia quietly stopped giggling, awkwardly clearing her throat before making a slow, weary trip to Garon. "Well, yes. It is rather late." Pallia said, nodding. "Which is why I'm coming in here rather than staying out there." The young woman took out her coinpurse, taking out the few silvers she had and setting them out. "Ah... whatever this would get me, please..."

Samson had watched the drow woman go over and timidly pay in a manner that suggested she was short. He sighed briefly as he turned back to Kerebii. "One moment, please," he requested of her as he pushed himself to his feet. "Garon," he told the barkeep. "If she's short on coin, let me know, I'll cover what she can't afford."

The barmaid nodded as Samson ordered some more food and returned behind the bar, emerging five minutes later with mug of ale, a bowl of broth and a small loaf of bread. She set them on the table besides Samson's own meal and returned to her duties.
Garon nodded and smiled as he took the silvers, and poured a mug of ale. “Thank you m'lady, take a seat and I'll have someone bring out something for you.” He handed the ale to the half-drow and reached for a key, “and your room, it's the second door on your right as you go upstairs.” He turned into the kitchen and had a few words with the cook before re-emerging and taking another order for drinks.
