I fully agree with everything Donut just said. Except I'd also add that Evolution should be taught as theory rather than fact. Not that it shouldn't be taught if Creationism isn't allowed to be taught, but just that it's a theory with a lot of holes, not scientifically proven facts. (This because he mentioned that Creationism isn't taught, with which I agree, not because I don't believe in the Creationism theory because I obviously do, but because education is for solid facts and scientific unbiased theories, and despite the weight and evidence behind Creationism, it is an inherently biased theory.)

Few theories are taught as such indisputable fact as evolution, Silva.

I know this is a slight off topic, but just because the report is suggested by X or Y doesn't mean you shouldn't crossreference it, no matter how "reliable" or "unreliable" one source is. The only instance where crossreference is less necessary is when it comes from the direct source, ie: direct quote from a written source, direct feed from a recorded event, etc.
The only sex ed I want "taught" is at a scientific level and easily into the late middle school and highschool years. STDs should also be taught in a brutally realistic fashion, such as show PICTURES of what can happen. Same for pregnancy, make those kids take care of that screaming egg thing- I want nothing romanticized or demonized, just pure unfiltered SCIENCE.
*I realize that the "brutally realistic" statement about STDs, seem demonizing, but you know what they're STDs, its like saying Ebola is cuddly!
As for homosexuality, it should be handled in/with the same scientific method as heterosexuality. Socially and academically it should be taught as something that you shouldn't damn other people for (people's sexual affairs shouldn't really be a topic of public discussion anyway). It is not a matter of right or wrong but different and leave it at that. (How a parent will explain "finer details" is up to them but I honestly want tolerance to spread.)

I'm all for tolerance. People all deserve the same fair treatment. I would personally teach my kids that homosexuality is a sin, yes, but at the same time, hate the sin, not the sinner. Kids should never be encouraged, by parents or anyone else, to be bigoted toward or bully other kids.
