Physical Description: Of about average height. Very well built (as he carries around heavy equipment all day) Skin is somewhat pale as he keeps covered up normally. Prefers to have the rugged five-o-clock shadow type of look. Keeps his brown hair trimmed. His clothing usually consists of Brown Pants, a Gray Shirt, deep brown boots, as well as a magically enchanted overcoat and wide brimmed hat. The hat and overcoat change colors depending on the environment. He carries around various weapons, bullet holsters, magically enchanted bags, and other equipment.
Emotional Description: Taxen’s personality is often very radical. Often times, he’ll remain quiet and uninvolved… until he hears something he disagrees which at which point he’ll loudly voice his opinion, interjecting himself into the conversation. The range of his personality seems to range from somewhat friendly (in a cheerful tavern) to hostile (a neutral party negatively questioning his experience and tactics). He seems to be paranoid on various topics, including, but not limited to Vampires, Horses, staying in one place for long periods of time and giving out his name to the public. Mentioning one of these topics around him usually will give the reward of a loud long winded rant. Usually will hold a grudge against people if they wrong him. Despite such negative qualities, he has a good heart, and will often try and do the right thing… as long as it doesn’t require him to stick out his neck too far, or doesn’t too heavily compromise any of his existing paranoias.
Brief History: Once a field Scout in the military, he left the Kingdom’s military after eight years of service without reason or notice. Since then, he has been a traveling mercenary normally taking on the role of a scout or field spy. However he has taken on tasks of eliminating natural threats. However he rarely, if ever, takes assassination tasks, even though he is more than equipped to do so.
History Expanded: (Currently being worked on)
Equipment: Taxen’s equipment amount is large, incredibly large. Most of the time, he prefers to travel alone, thus he needs a way to bypass difficult situations. Most of his equipment is stored away in one of three Bags of holding, which he keeps at his waist side.
Bags of Holding: These bags, are strong in magical power. Basically, each bag leads to a small limited size pocket dimension, separate from the bag itself. Thus in each bag remains the weight of the bag itself, but can carry a few suits of heavy plate mail armor if needed, though the bags are used to carry his equipment.
Basic Equipment: Taxen has a wide away of basic equipment, including but not necessarily limited to a magnet, Tongs, a 10 foot pole, a grappling hook and rope, vials of anti toxins as well as poisons, spyglass, Bedroll, extra clothing a lock picking kit, as well as other such equipment. Taxen does his best to be prepared for any situation, though every answer he has may not be enough to get the job done.
Traps: “Wooden Stakes?! Feh! I’ll tell you how I take care of vampires… BY BLOWING THEM THE FUCK UP!”~Taxen, discussing with a group how to get rid of a vampire.
Often times, Taxen has come across a situation or enemy in which conventional weaponry and tactics are all but useless or simply not an option. Thus, Taxen keeps a wide variety of traps in one of his Bag of Holdings, a single bag dedicated to holding them all. These traps range from high powered explosions, poisonous gases, vicious acid sprayers, and spewers of magical electricity. Due to his paranoia, he also happens to have a trap that sprays holy water, magically creates daylight, and a wooden stake launcher. He purchased these special traps after learning that blowing vampires up does not permanently get rid of them. The traps can be triggered through several means, pressure plates, wire, and even if the situation permits, remote control, as he can key code certain traps to explode through magical devices. A trigger stone can react with a magical piece of equipment, thus setting off the trap from a distance. Such materials however are expensive, and with certain traps, the remote trigger point is destroyed from the force or powerful magic energies. Taxen takes great pride in his traps, and is especially thrilled when they work in unison to utterly wipe out those who fall into them.
Camo Gear: Taxen’s cloak and hat are magically enchanted to have physical camouflage capabilities. By muttering the name of the type of environment that he wishes the clothing to adapt to, the clothing will shift in color scheme to more easily match and fit into that environment. For example, by muttering “Forest” the clothes shift into browns and greens, to fit the earth and vegetation palette. Muttering “Urban” will shift the clothing to gray’s and blacks, allowing him to shift around stone buildings and cobblestone streets without much detection. He MUST mutter the words in order for the clothing to shift, thus if prevented from speaking, the clothing cannot shift. The clothing in itself is somewhat fire resistant. He has the same material woven into his weapon holsters, as well as wrapped around the barrell of Omen.
Weaponry: Mixing the power of Steam Punk Era weaponry with the mysterious energies of Magic, Taxen brings a colorful array of offensive utensils to the battlefield.
Quad-Barreled Modified Rotating Military Pistol “Redeemer”: Acquired since his entrance into the Military, this weapon has always been his weapon of choice when engaging opponents. The Quad barreled pistol’s barrel is a single foot long piece of steel with four holes burrowed into the steel piece, being connected to the hilt, each of these being able to house, and fire a single bullet. The Entire barrel rotates on a clockwork mechanism, allowing after each shot, the barrel the turn and fire the next shot. However, the gun is not without it’s weakness. Firstly, it is heavy and unwieldy. Although taxen is an excellent shot, his firing arm can be become fatigue after using the gun in extended battles. Secondly, reloading times for the gun force Taxen to disengage from his opponent in order to reload more than one round. Although, if he really wanted to, he could get by, by continuously opening, and closing the chamber, loading a bullet, then immediately firing. A skill which he is quite proud of (though requires the assistance of his magnetic glove) it still is unwieldy to do, but possible to do especially using hit and run tactics. There are times, when Taxen feels it is best to give it everything he has, and will sometimes fire all four bullets from each of the barrels at once.

By Having rune like inscriptions made on along the barrel, the gun can shoot makeshift arcane bolts of energy. However, they are not as powerful as the cartridge bullets, and travel the speed of an arrow fired from a bow. After each shot however, the runes on each side near each barrel must recharge. While he can fire off a volley of four pretty fast, he must then use evasive tactics waiting for them to recharge, and cannot use the single bullet reload tactic.
TR-5 Tri Barrel Rotating Military Rifle "Omen": This weapon works much the same way as the Redeemer pistol, the main difference is that this weapon is a Rifle. Taxen only uses this weapon when a fair distance away from the enemy and has no attention on himself. Usually used to pick off targets from a distance, or to goad enemies into falling into his traps that he may have previously planted. The weapon also has a makeshift scope on the top, though it is nowhere nearly as powerful as the modern variety, and is more like a smaller spyglass.
Prototype MNT-9 Nova Blade “Downfall”: It is unknown how Taxen acquired this piece of technology, but next to his Redeemer pistol, it is his favorite weapon. The weapon is a full bladed short sword. The Blade itself is about a foot shorter than a long sword, but the width of the blade is six inches in length. The Blade does not end in a point, rather it ends in a square shape, making the top of the blade blunt. This hilt of the blade holsters unknown technological mechanisms fusing science and steam punk technologies, and along the length of the blade are various runes and symbols.
For the most part, the blade is a normal heavy short sword, until a button near the handle is pressed, in which the sword begins to hum and the runes glow a slight blue. The blade’s edges immediately began to grow incredibly hot, turning white, exceeding extreme temperatures, as the blade can seemingly then cut through most metals with an easy swipe, as well as dealing out extreme damages. The magic of the blade keeps the blade in tact, preventing it from being damaged or destroyed by it’s own heat output. The metals that make up the blade seem to allow the blade to grow incredibly hot almost immediately, as well as cool off just as quickly upon deactivating the blade. The Runes also make the blade incredibly light while activated, thus allowing him to swing it around in a extremely quick motion as if wielding a dagger. Though powerful, the blade power is extremely limited. The button activates when Taxen presses and holds the button immediately, and deactivates when Taxen releases the blade. The blade has an effective 5 second battery before the technology deactivates as well as the runes, causing the blade to stop functioning for ten hours. Usage of the blade is cumulative, if Taxen uses the blade five times, in one second intervals, it will deactivate just the same.
The Blade, like Taxen’s other weapons are pretty heavy, however through constant use, Taxen has adapted to them and can use them effectively. The weight of the blade also allows Taxen to fight those in heavier armor, who are usually protected against slashing weapons, giving his blade more concussion power with the attacks.
Magnetic Holsters: Taxen has incorporates magnetic points on his holsters as well as weapons, this allows him to immediately draw weapons as well as quickly put them away to switch for another weapon or run away or give himself an immediate free hand without having to worry about dropping his weapon and risk losing it.
Magnetic fingered gloves: Each of the gloves that Taxen wears has a light magnet placed in the fingertips. This allows Taxen to quickly and efficiently draw bullets from his bullet holster on his chest, and place it in his gun quickly and efficiently without risking fumbling or dropping the bullet while in the process of running around the battlefield.
Skills (While not a complete list of what Taxen can and cant do, this lists the skills in which Taxen completely excels at)
Scout: First and foremost, Taxen is a Scout, and trained to be, and has been one for several years in the military. He knows the lay of the land, is quite adapted to traveling it, is not slowed down by difficult terrain, and has incredibly sharp senses in both hearing and sight. Trained to understand what enemies are doing from a distance, he can quickly identify their motives and their relations. Having such high senses allows him to spot as well as disarm traps if they are present.
Stealth: Being a Scout, Taxen was trained to find his enemies, spy on them, all while remaining completely hidden. He is very adapted to hiding in any forest, be it a dark cave, or an illuminated bustling city street. He is also able to move in complete silence. Thanks to the magnetic holsters holding his weapons, they do not move around that much to make noise. His training also has told him how to remain untraceable, Taxen is very much aware on how to leave a scene without leaving any tracks or traces of his presence.
Gun Smithing: Where Taxen is from, he comes from a society very high in technology, but through his travels, he has learned not all the provinces come close to this technology. Thus, when ammo is short, he may be forced to make his own. He carries around with him a pistol bullet mould , and a Rifle bullet mould. After collecting discarded scrap metal, he can rent a forge, melt down the metals, and create new bullets. The Process is time consuming however, and it will ussually take several hours to have only a handful of new bullets prepared. Taxen is also very knowledgeable on gunsmithing in general, having modified his weapons himself, he also knows how they work, and often is designing blueprints for new advancements.
Battle: Taxen fights in a strange manner. Constantly engaging, disengaging, then reengaging his opponent again can at times offset opponents who are used to battling their foes toe to toe. In melees, Taxen will often times run around the battle field attacking foes weak points who are not adapted to fighting his random style with both gun and blade. By running in and out, not only does he keep his opponent second guessing his tactics, but he also is able to keep himself out of harms way, increasing his defensive potential. There are times, when Taxen will try and incorporate traps, and lead his opponents to them before activating them. Taxen is also incredibly agile, able to react to opponents quickly and efficiently.
Special Abilities (Note, some of these are DnD related abilities):
Battle Fortitude: Through countless military encounters and ambushes, Taxen has become quite hardy as well as becoming very adamant about reacting quickly to an enemy attack.
Uncanny Dodge: Taxen is always ready for the next encounter, the next enemy hiding in the shadows ready to ambush him. Unless imobolized, taxen can easily dodge attacks from an opponent, even if they are hidden.
Blind Sense: Taxen has the ability to use nonvisual senses such as smell, hearing and such to notice things that cannot be seen. While he would still be unable to see such things, he would know they are there and be aware of their presence and have an idea to their general area. This ability extends out to 30 feet all around him.
Paranoia: Always aware that something out there is trying to get at him, Taxen has a habbit of distrusting everyone and everything, including himself. This gives him a slight resistance to mind affecting abilities, and can often boot others out of his mind once he realizes they are there by overloading them with a mass of paranoid thoughts surging all at once.
Weakness: Paranoia: Taxen will often do things or become hostile to his own party for their backgrounds or actions, this can make Taxen difficult to deal with.
Although Taxen is trained in some hand to hand combat, he generally must rely on his weapons and tools. Without them, he can still use his special abilities, but is not generally that much of a threat.
If an opponent is able to adapt to Taxens hit and run style, and get around the traps, Taxen may be fighting a losing battle, though he may come up with another tactic depending on the setting the fight takes place.
