Name: Arin Perrison
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Power Level: Mid-tier Medium (5)
Timeline: Future
Appearance: About five and a half feet tall and with cream skin, she doesn't look intimidating if she's not armed or anything. Her black hair is short but the longer bangs are combed over and pinned out of the way. She's got an excellent figure that is shown off by her uniform, a tight, shoulderless, leather, black dress starting a couple inches below the arms and stopping just below her thighs. Over this, she wears a full-sleeve jacket that only comes down to the top of the dress in front, doesn't close past the sides of her neck and goes on down to the bottom of her upper back in back. Beneath the dress, she wears a full-body latex stocking suit and on her feet are black boots that come up above her calves. Blue trim lines her jacket as well as tracing a line from above her hips to the bottom of the dress on the inside of her thighs.
Personality: No-nonsense and noble-minded, but also caring and concerned for others. When matters of world security aren't bashing down the doors, she's actually fairly easy-going.
History: Arin's pretty much your normal college student. She stays in a dormitory, she enjoys checking out the local dance club on Friday nights (and any other night she can manage to do it without regretting it in class the next day), checking out the latest AI sims of her favorite band, hanging out with her best friend, shooting hoops in the recreation area's basketball court and pumping security bots full of electromagnetically-charged lead.
Arin is a genetically special individual. Only one human in twenty is capable of utilizing nano-augmentation, increasing the body's performance through the use of nanite technology. The majority of this measly 5% of the human population can only handle a few augmentations. Only a comparative handful can handle extensive augmentation. When found as children, they are offered scholarships and permitted to enroll in special academies run by a major worldwide military organization. These academies teach all sorts of things, and many of their top scientists come from the very academies they teach and research at, but Arin is in a very special program reserved for those very unique few capable of handling any number of nanoaugmentations. She is a covert ops agent, and tests are performed in the field.
But this is only what she knows about herself. There is more, much, much more. Her genetic composition, so favorable for nanoaugmentation, is no mere chance. What she doesn't know is that she is actually bioengineered to be superior to the average human, to be infinitely compatible with nanotechnology and to be at the top of her field. What she doesn't know is that she is, literally, a born and bred killer.
Powers: Different augmentations are centered in different portions of her body. While she can have multiple sections active at the same time, she can't have multiple augmentations from the same section active, as they would cause a bioelectrical power surge. Thus, her augmentations will be organized by the part of the body they are in.
Head
Neural Interface - This is a non-combat augmentation that allows her to hack into computers. She has to be next to the computer or terminal she is hacking, but doesn't actually have to touch it. This leaves her rather vulnerable as she must maintain her concentration and position.
Enhanced Vision - This augments her vision beyond what her normal eye augmentation (granting her perfect vision but not greatly beyond that of a normal human being) by enhancing it to pick up on the wavelengths above and beyond the normal human range, essentially giving her night and heat vision.
Targeting - This augmentation helps her to lock onto a target, enhancing her accuracy somewhat but primarily allowing her to track it. It also gives her information on the target's physical health related to damage sustained and limited zoom.
Body
Regeneration - Nanites accelerate the recovery process, healing the body of damage, but at high energy cost compared to most of the other augmentations. Due to its high energy drain, this is typically saved for when it's really an emergency.
Cloak - This alters the way light reflects off of the user, rendering her invisible to organic sight. It flickers whenever she fires a shot, leaving her visible for a split moment until it can reassert itself.
Thermal Masking - The same as the cloak, except it negates her heat signature, preventing machines from tracking her. It also flickers when she fires a shot. These share the same body slot, so she can't be invisible to both organics and machines at the same time.
Aggressive Defense System - This causes explosives to prematurely detonate before reaching her, be they rockets or grenades.
Subdermal Plating - This augmentation, when active, reinforces her body against physical damage by forming protective plates under her skin so she is defended as if wearing armor.
Biohazard Protection - This system cleanses her body of toxins and defends against radiation. While not totally negating their effect, while active, it does significantly reduce the damage she receives.
Electrostatic Discharge - This is an exception to the not-at-the-same-time rule as it isn't actually from a specific augmentation. She can channel her bioenergy through her limbs into her melee weapons or unarmed strikes in the form of machine-shorting electromagnetic energy. It also gives organics something of a nasty shock.
Arms
Strength Enhancement - This augmentation generates microfiber muscle reinforcement, increasing her physical strength dramatically while active.
Machine Domination - This allows her to take direct control over things like security bots and turrets, allowing her to control its movements and see through its "eyes." This takes a constant drain on her bioenergy for as long as she maintains it. It's typically easier for her to destroy the bot or commandeer the turret from a security terminal.
Health Leech - This augmentation allows her to break down organic components from a dead or unconscious target to restore her own health. Of course, this causes serious injury and likely kills an unconscious target, but because that kind is still alive, it also would heal her at twice the rate.
Legs
Movement Silencer - By muffling her steps through sound absorbers and delicately controlling how much force is required for a specific movement, this augmentation allows her to run in complete silence.
Speed Enhancement - Much like the strength enhancement, this augmentation increases the performance of her legs, dramatically increasing her running speed and jumping height.
Equipment: Thanks to the advancements in nanotechnology, all of her weapons use the same kind of ammunition. As such, it isn't actually ammunition in the standard sense of the word. Instead, it is simply the components necessary for making the ammunition, which is then formed for the specific weapon it is inserted into. Different weapons use up the ammunition faster than others depending on the size, power and rate of fire.
9mm Pistol - Her favored firearm for its conservative use of ammunition and respectable takedown power. Unless there's a special occasion, this is her date of choice. It is modified with a silencer and can also fire a sonic discharge to shatter glass silently and without sounding alarms. On the underside of the barrel is an infrared stealth light for dark areas.
Boltcaster - Essentially a futuristic crossbow, this weapon uses electromagnetic acceleration to launch a bolt of neurotoxin for a non-lethal takedown. This doesn't see a lot of use due to its lack of power compared to its ammo consumption, but if she needs to take a target alive, this is the perfect weapon for the job. Typically, she never even takes it with her unless that's specifically the objective.
Sub Machine Gun - Boasting a rapid rate of automatic fire, it can drop an opponent quickly despite its small round size. This is a double-edged sword, as its rapid fire also eats through ammunition quickly. Modifications charge the rounds with electromagnetic energy, making this her favored weapon against larger security drones.
Shotgun - In many ways, the Yin to the SMG's Yang, the shotgun fires a wide anti-personnel spray, but has a slower rate of fire. Dangerous enough on its own at close range, Arin has installed modifications on this one that make each of the "pellets" explosive so that they detonate on impact, further increasing the range of damage. Each pellet doesn't have much explosive power at all, but the shotgun is known for adhering to the policy of quantity over quality.
Weakness: Despite her modifications, Arin is still human and requires air to breathe. She is still vulnerable to poisons and radiation unless she has radiation protection active. If she uses up all of her bioenergy without recharging or taking time for it to replenish on its own, she can't activate her augmentations.
