Name: Terry Hawking
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Race: Human?
Alignment: Good
Power Level: Medium - High Tier (6)
Timeline: Modern
Appearance: Terry has brown hair cut short (she used to have long braided hair, but needed short hair for her combat suit) She's average height, skinny, rather lacking in bust, but she has a very cute face. She is very pale and freckled, an odd combination that somehow works with her. She wears a blue spandex type body suit for use in her combat suit system, and normal clothes otherwise. She uses a very non-distinct but nice wheel chair - non-electrical.
In her suit, she looks very sleek, but powerful. Her helmet is simply round in shape with a small roundish gold-plated and polarized visor. Almost like a steel colored, and more sleek astronaut suit.
Personality: Terry can be timid at times, but on the most part is goofy and will speak her mind. She didn't have a lot of time to develop social skills since she never had many friends. She perseveres and at her hardest times, is stony: silent and strong. She is intellectual and conceptual, and can be very good at explaining things in layman's terms. She takes after her father, whom she was as a child (and still is) very close to. He is kind, patient, caring, and nurturing. Despite all this, she is typically very friendly, perhaps overly cordial at times. She has a certain spunk to her that is kind of goofy as well, and seems to hide her actual perception of importance and almost make her seem naive.
History: Ever since Terry was little, she always has a niche for building things. She would work along side her dad at his autoshop a young age of five. Her father made sure that she never worked along side him in anything dangerous, and wasn't particularly worried that Terry had few other friends since most girls weren't interested in working with cars. Terry didn't have much of a chance to make friends since she would outshine most other students and usually end up surpassing them in grade level.
Her family wasn't too rich, but Terry got around that with her intelligence and natural conceptual understanding of things. She graduated from college at the age of 18 with a degree in engineering and physics. She worked with a research and development company that eventually came out with a very expensive but mobile and compact cold fusion module. She made quite a modest amount of money with the group until tragedy struck. During a testing of the module at the labs, the fusion core went critical and fused too rapidly causing an enormous explosion (far greater than was expected) destroying a large amount of the research and killing most of Terry's coworkers.
Terry barely survived, and was crippled from the waist down and . With much effort, she managed to do daily tasks with some assistance at first, and began Working with one of her surviving coworkers, Kevin Watson, she managed to resurrect the module and create a stabilized form. They sold the information on the module and an actual test module to the U.S. military for an extensive amount of extra funds. Using the module, they created a self-powered combat suit (it drew hydrogen from the surrounding air through a filter and could also obtain it through splitting water molecules).
Kevin had no serious injuries from the explosion, but had received a large amount of radiation. Since he was not as near the explosion as most were, he didn't receive the necessary radiation treatment like the other survivors. He later developed terminal cancer, but made no mention of it to Terry.
The suit had to be custom fit to a specific person's body. Terry volunteered to operate the suit, longing for mobility again. They dubbed it the CFCS (Cold Fusion Combat Suit, not too creative with names). During the construction of the parts of the suit it was actually constructed around Terry as it was made. The purpose of the suit was to allow a person to perform supernatural tasks such as increased speed, resiliance, reflexes, etc.: The suit linked up with the brain itself during operation. (details of the suit in equipment section)
Kevin had to be hospitalized about a month before completion and died shortly after the suit before the suit was finished. Terry took his death rather badly. After Kevin passed, rather than selling the idea of the suit as they had intended, she planned on destroying it. However, a certain news report changed her mind...
Powers: None in particular, she has a power level of 1 while outside her combat suit (she's crippled).
Equipment: Her combat suit is fueled by a cold fusion reactor that gathers its fuel from the air and water around it. It's made of carbon-steel exterior and very durable, able to withstand a good amount of gun fire. It is tight fitting on her and sleek looking. It can operate almost indefinitely at low power if entropy is negated, but only for an hour or two at its highest power output.
It has thrusters on the back allowing for temporary flight and extended jumps. It gives increased strength to Terry allowing her to lift up to 1000 pounds easily, and even small cars at most. It is quite nimble and quick, not contradictory to its sleek appearance, and can gain running speed of 45 MPH. Rather than loading the combat suit with a bunch of gadgets, it has an advanced HUD allowing for heat vision, polarized vision, and a real-time update on the combat system, as well as a few other features (such as WiFi =D ). It is programmed with a wealth of knowledge, including fighting styles, and can be written with more information.
The only extra feature other than augmented combat ability is a compact photon-beam on her forearm that sends a shot of focused photons at a foe. Normally, it heavily stuns and knocks back a foe, slightly burning them in the process. But, if overcharged, it can create large blindingly bright blast of light that can disrupt and disable electronics. When the beam is overcharged, the photons spread to rapidly, so it won't cause too much damage or burns, but still has its uses. Overcharging the beam causes it to overheat and be unusable for about 15 minutes.
The suit contains a small air reserve good for 30 minutes as well and refills in about 3 minutes. The suit is very usable underwater, however its uses are very limited after about 30 minutes in a vacuum due to lack of fuel.
Terry puts the suit by putting on the different parts and sealing them. She can't simply slip into the suit as it is too tight fitting. It doesn't take more than a few minutes for her to get ready and get the fusion core in the back running however.
Weakness: The suit is durable, but a strong blow to the right areas can render it useless. Too much heat can cause the suit to go critical as well. Terry also has no combat ability outside the suit.
