Name: Ike Poller
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Lawful Good
Timeline: Modern
Appearance: Ike is an athletic teen. Or at least he tries to look like one. However, he's a bit lanky as well, so he has more of a runner's build than the superathlete's. On the other hand, he is clearly on his way to becoming a handsome young man. He always has either a dark blue and white bandana on his head, or a pair of black, ear covering headphones, or both. He has black hair that is a choatic, scraggly mess. He tries to fix it by having it cut short, and for the most part, it works well. However, there's always one or two locks out of place somewhere. He's always trying to find his "look", clothing wise, and his current one is one of the better ones. He's wearing a dark green pinstripe jacket over a black t-shirt. He wears dark green pants. The jacket and pants are cared for, but the hem of the legs on the pants are still frayed from travel. He has a thin silver chain around his neck and a plain, everyday watch on his left wrist. His pokeballs are on a garden variety leather belt around his waist, which also harbours a wallet chain like the one he wears on his neck.
Personality: Ike's a goofy, girl-crazy, but nonetheless heroic young man. At times, he epitomizes the stereotypical music fan. He has a strong thirst for life. He's fun-loving and prone to loud, energetic outbursts and fits of go-get-'em energy bursts. Despite it all, he's got a clean head, and while he's quite taken to showing off, he's far from snobbish and arrogant. He aspires to become a Radio DJ when he gets older, and with his charismatic cheerfulness, he just might get there. While he constantly insists that he only trains pokemon for the enjoyment of it, he gets very serious when he actually finds a challenging battle.
History: When one hears the term "pokemon master", they most likely envision a composed, mature trainer. They most likely see a trainer in early to mid-adulthood, with wisdom beyond their years. They probably believe that a true Pokemon Master will be a competitive and powerful trainer for life, dedicating their lives to pokemon and little else.
In other words, when one hears the term, "pokemon master", they do NOT think of Ike Poller.
However, that's what Ike Poller is... somehow. He grew up in Goldenrod City, but once he was old enough to travel alone, he hit the road and took the first train to Kanto. He never explains why he left his hometown, but some assume that he didn't like living in the big city, as the small hamlet of Lavender Town practically became a second home for him during his pokemon journey. His first pokemon was Machop, and the two were inseperable friends since meeting. Ike set out as a pokemon trainer "for the kicks", as he claims, and tackled the Pokemon League with the same flippant motivation. However, being the type to see everything through to the end, Ike eventually found himself on the proverbial welcome mat of Victory Road. With one final push, Ike managed to defeat all opposition in the final leg of the Pokemon League and took the title of Pokemon Master for himself.
Powers: One probably can't argue there's some definite skill in terms of strategy and pokemon training in Ike, but otherwise, he's your average Joe, mentally and physically.
Weapons: None. He uses his pokemon to defend himself. Sure, he's got a really, totally, RADICAL air guitar, but you can't smash someone with an air guitar.
Weakness: He has to use his pokemon as both a shield and a weapon. Without them he's just a normal person. He has a case of acrophobia (fear of heights), part of the reason why he doesn't use a pokemon to fly him everywhere.
Pokemon:
Machamp
Gender: Male
Type: Fighting
Personality: "It's like a little me with a tail runnin' around!" Is what Ike would often say when Machamp was in his basic stage. He's good natured, but always looking for some brawl or challenge to keep him occupied. He has a brotherly bond with Ike. Unfortunately, evolving sort of put an ego into his head, and he sometimes looks at Ike as a "little brother", treating him to at least one three armed noogie on a daily basis.
Scyther
Gender: Male
Type: Bug/Flying
Personality: Scyther is probably the the anchor that keeps the team from spiralling off into insanity. He's calm and composed, and seems to intimidate even the likes of Machamp. He icy cold and comes across as the type that could probably slice his own family to ribbons without batting an eyelash. However, his protectiveness towards the rest of the group is surprisingly strong, and his intimidation is really just used to make sure the others don't get into trouble.
Houndoom
Gender: Female
Type: Dark/Fire
Personality: While Scyther can be considered a protective, albeit creepy and stern father figure, Houndoom screams mother. She's doting on the others, and babies many of the smaller pokemon out of instinct. She displays the archtypical dog trait of loyalty, like all the others. She feels indebted to Ike and Machamp, who saved her from hunters when she was a child.
Jolteon
Gender: Male
Type: Electric
Personality: Jolteon is a simple creature. He doesn't speak much, and frequently only voices opinion when he's asked for one. He's basic and plain, and quite the Spartan in his tastes. He's not at all bright, but when problems arise, he'll often point out solutions that are so basic that others don't consider them. He doesn't see himself as a thinker, though. He claims his purpose in life is to fight and to work.
Gengar
Gender: Female
Type: Ghost/Poison
Personality: Gengar represents the basic view of Ghost pokemon in general. In other words, if something went wrong, she's probably responsible. She jokes and teases everybody, not even Ike is safe. This Gengar is quite taken to taking the form of a human, and her favourite gag is to scamper off, come back as a beautiful girl, and then unleash a paralyzing Lick on Ike when he hits on her. However, those that get close to Gengar end up realising that her pranking is just her way of showing affection.
Swampert
Gender: Male
Type: Water/Ground
Personality: There's no telling what Swampert's going to say or do. The rest of the team are in general agreement that the pokemon has split personalities... a lot of them. His entire demeanour changes when he adopts a new persona, as well as everything else. With the constantly changing personalities and actions, there's no telling which one is really his, if any of them.
