Appearance: She has short blond hair and deep blue eyes. She wears orange-gold armor that seems to be almost feathery in its appearance. She is well built, but not overly muscular. She is actually quite attractive when not in armor, but her looks in no way outweigh her personality. She has a pale complexion.
Personality: Saryam respects the relationships of her allies and leaders, however she keeps them at the professional level. If any attempt is made to get too personal with Saryam she responds with hostility. She takes pride in her ability and her guild. She keeps everyone at a distance probably to protect herself. Cold, hardened bitch would be the best words for her.
History: Saryam, like Wedge, has also decided to sway away from the offensive and assault spells that normal mages train as, and instead decided to take a supportive and performance altering path as an assist. However, she did not follow the path of a holy assist like Wedge had. Her strong aggression did not allow her to. At an extremely early age, although it's not confirmed, someone close to her was torn from her, and it seems to have shaped her life.
At the age of 8, Saryam began training as a battle assist. As a battle assist, their code of honor stressed loyalty, power, and aggression. By effectively debilitating their enemies the battles assists would then crush their opponents with their strong mage like spells, as well as well honed physical attacks. They are a prideful guild and are bitter rivals with their counterparts, the holy assists. They feel as if the holy assists exert an air of superiority over the battle assists for not practicing non violence and holiness, and resent them for it.
Powers: Saryam has more than extensive training with physical combat using her stick, and learned ways to incorporate spells into her physical combat as well. She has not learned more than the basics of hand to hand combat however. These projectile spells move rapidly at about 75 mph.
Assist skills:
Note: Battle assist spells last only a short amount of time, around 10 to 15 minutes. This is largely due to the short amount of time they put into their cast motions. They only take just short of a second.
Jade - This spell or "debuff" robs the target of much needed stamina so they become weary much sooner into a battle. This causes enemies to become exhausted twice as fast as they normally would. This is a jade colored spell that flies in the shape of the outline of a spinning triangle.
Stupify - Dumbs the opponent, decreasing their mental capacity by 25%. While affected by stupify, an opponent may make an error of judgment or a tactical flaw leading to their downfall. Stupify appears as a dull, gray, grouping of bubbles.
Dredge - Slows the opponent and their movements by bogging up their movements. An opponent will move slower, run slower, and attack slower by about 25%. This attack creates a great amount of frustration in the affected as well, since they tend to be fully aware of their slow movement. This spell appears as a putrid green coil.
Slothen - Retards the nervous system of the target, slowing reflexes and thought by around 20%. This causes the target to interpret what is happening around them slower, causing them the illusion that everything but their mind has sped up, which can be particularly disorienting. This is a black spell in the shape of a ball or cloud.
Jinx - This spell causes the target to be more stiff and clumsy so they are more likely to make a mistake. It decreases their dexterity by around 20%. This also increases the risk of sprain or cramping in the target as well. This spell appears as a blue, purple, and red psychedelic moth.
Berserk - This greatly enhances the combat ability of Saryam by focusing her spiritual energy into her body. Using this skill increases her overall movement speed (including attack speed), strength, and reflexes by about 50%. This skill is incredibly short lasting though, and will die out after only a minute or so. This short lived skill has some side effects as well. It leaves the target slightly drained, weakened, and disoriented after use for about another minute, hindering their combat ability. When using this skill, Saryam's eyes will turn red, she will turn even more pale than she already is, and a look of stone cold conviction will wash over her face.
Desecrate - This spell is made of unholy energy. Bruise colored energy of dark purple-red is sent hurtling towards her enemy where if they are stricken, will undergo a large amount of pain depending on how holy they are. It will always hurt anyone other than Saryam however. If the attack misses however, it will simply fizzle into smoke and flame at whatever it hits, leaving a very small smoking crater. This spell also knocks back the opponent rather than burning them like sanctify.
Merkabah - This temporarily imbues Saryam with unholy energy, increasing her strength and also the pain she deals out. Whenever she strikes an opponent, they will not only suffer from the physical blow she deals, but also the unholy burning from the energy she dished out in her blow as well. This spell lasts barely a minute before dying out as well, and causes a good amount of pain when the it dies out. Using this in conjunction with Berserk is a deadly combo, for the enemy and the user. After the spells wear out the user will often times be rendered near incapacitated, having to take a few minutes to recover from the after affects of the abilities.
While using Merkabah, Saryam will seem to be outlined in a black flame. Touching this flame, or coming near it will also cause pain.
Equipment: Saryam has a stick that is dark red, long, and slim. It is around 1.5 meters in length.
Weakness: Less than desired hand to hand combat capabilities. Spells only last a short time compared to holy assists. Also, Merkabah and Berserk have a very nasty aftertaste.
