Name: Vintage (real name is unknown)
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Race: Human (Anima Doll, aka a specific genetic “farmed” Human)
Alignment: Lawful Good
Power Level: Low-Tier Low
Timeline: Notable for placement in Sci-Fi settings, however can be tweaked to participate in contemporary/modern settings. Cannot participate in Medieval Times without heavy alterations to character or is somehow teleported to said time by an outside force.
(In a modern setting his abilities regarding that he is an Anima Doll are ignored and his dependence on Moony becomes a purely sentimental notion.)
Appearance: Vintage is only 4’8”, and despite being a young boy, he is still considered small for his age, however given his clinical circumstances it is yet to be thought of as odd or a cause of his genetics (see History for details). His hair is close-cut and is a dirty blond in color; he has bright green eyes and is emotionally very loose and still childish. Most often he is seen only wearing a dull brown scrub uniform as well as running around in a pair of what appear to be simple slippers; on his wrist is a bracelet which has the word ‘Vintage’ printed on it as well as a strange code of some form, what it is remains unknown. In addition to this, he is constantly seen holding a gigantic white (if not a little bit dirty) stuffed rabbit who he has named “Moony.” In terms of build he is quite lithe, and is as light as he appears, though this is not to be confused with him being underfed or malnourished, he is quite healthy and is very energetic because of this.
Personality: As a Lawful Good as well as an innocent child, Vintage is easily affected by others and their influence and believes in enthusiastically supporting what is ‘right.’ Many if not all of Vintage’s morals and ethical code comes from a large tome he carries around which is filled with rich fairy tales that talk of good virtues as well as the concept of “happily ever after.” He follows what is said in this book much like how a pious member of a religion would study their creed. Because of this, Vintage attaches certain standards in accordance to what is ‘shown’ to him in his book of what he considers truth. Also from this comes a curiosity and subconscious thirst to understand the world, but in Vintage’s eyes it’s because of how the world fascinates him due to how little he has seen of it. Other than believing in justice and the greater good, he is a very naive and idealistic soul. At times he seems to be emotionally fragile as well as ignorant and air-headed, but he means well despite how combat-ineffective he is.
An example of how childlike he is would be how he believes in the existence of cooties and is somewhat attached to certain gender-specific ideas (namely being uncomfortable with being given “girly things”) but rather tries to maintain a sort of chivalry (however at times he’s quite awkward in maintaining it). He is also very shy around the opposite sex who may share his age-group (older members he looks up to, younger members he would try to look after).
History: Vintage is a subject from the corporation known as Embro: C.P.O. Facilities. He is unsure of how he even escaped from Embro. Regardless he seeks for a way to take down the place he came from so that he can reach ‘Everafter’ which is constantly mentioned in the book he reads. (Everafter to him is the equivalent of heaven.)
Prior to his departing from Embro, he was held in captivity as well as with other artificially created children (artificial in that he was not born from a mother’s womb, yet is still human in every regard) under conditions that were immaculate yet inhumane. It is unknown specifically why Vintage was created, but subjects from Embro are typically sold as living organ donors and/or very specialized playmates, pets, servants, etc. During his stay at Embro, he, as well as the other children were constantly harvested for their biological wares (blood, bone marrow, etc.) on a routine enough basis that Vintage has a terrible fear of hospital-like buildings as well as a devastating phobia of needles, medical supplies, and medical procedures which would otherwise cut flesh or cause pain.
Currently he is in the care of Epic True as they seek to possibly take down Embro; at this time Moony, his COMPANION doll, has gained sentience due to a gift of power from Epic True.
Powers/Abilities: Anima Doll Regeneration – More of a passive “power” in a sense is that he has medically perfect health (under normal circumstances) as well as a high regeneration disposition in terms of organs and blood. However this regeneration mustn’t be mistaken for recovering full-limbs within minutes. Damage that is done to him must be physically ‘there’ (the exception being blood) and it will restore itself at roughly two to four times the normal rate, an amazing rate of five times the normal regeneration rate can be achieved with proper and ideal medical attention. (This recovery is costly in that his metabolism artificially increases to undertake the task, and as such requires sufficient nutrients to do it.)
To roughly summarize is the minimum physical “percents” of his specific body parts that must exist for it to regenerate: “Large Organs” – needs at least 40% to fully recover, “Small Organs” – needs at least 50% to fully recover, Blood/Plasma/White Cells – 45%, Appendages – must have a re-attach rate of 25% and proper medical treatment to be a successful regeneration.
Immunity and the potential for immunity follow the same rules as human immunity save for faster recovery time and a higher survival rate, however if the respective virus is too overwhelming, an Anima Doll can still die from illness, but this is rare (according to documentation). The same rules apply to poison, however it is dependent on the rate of fatality, if the poison has a slow lethal rate (as in it takes a long time to act) the survival rate increases, however if it is an instantaneous poison the Anima Doll will most likely die under normal circumstances.
Adaptability – Vintage is excellent at learning from his mistakes however his immaturity emotionally can at times hinder this ability. Tasks that require dexterity are his specialty (however he must learn the skill first before he can use it).
Equipment: COMPANION Doll (Moony) – On a normal basis (without Epic True’s gift) Vintage cannot be separated from Moony for long periods from time. He needs the doll to survive as it is a maintenance system which monitors and otherwise keeps Anima Dolls ‘in line.’ Moony is also large enough to be considered a small backpack; it contains an assortment of toys as well as the book of fairy tales Vintage treasures. Moony is incredibly durable and appears to be made of a cloth tougher than what is normal, however how tough it is specifically is unknown.
Weakness: Vintage cannot be separated from Moony, and if he is, he cannot be more than eight feet away. If he is, he will suffer a total organ system failure.
Every so often his body must be drained of blood as he appears to produce too much of it. (I am unsure of how this is specifically a weakness, but it seems to fit most under this category.) If he does not drain the excess blood he will suffer physical anguish until it is done; can theoretically die from it (ruptured blood vessels).
He lacks combat experience and is physically not any stronger than any other young child. He can however sprint quickly, but lacks the endurance needed to fully take advantage of this speed.
He judges based on the archetypes he has read about in his fairy tale book; as such he is usually too trusting or untrusting of someone respectively. In a sense the weakness can be that he lacks life experience. Emotionally speaking he isn’t the strongest but as said before, his heart is in the right place.
Notes: Third character! I seem to like regeneration powers a lot. Hahaha, will post a picture someday… I don’t think anything is too confusing, but any feedback would be most appreciated.
