Name: Ken, he felt that he would only deserve to use his last name after becoming an accomplished samurai... we're still waiting.
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Lawful (in this case more along the lines of Bushido/honor codes) good
Power Level: 6
Timeline: modern
Appearance: To be prefectly honest, Kenneth should not dress the way he does, a blu-ish samurai garb with short yet huge sleeves, complete with the dark purple colored "skirt". Givin the opprotunity, Ken would much rather wear a white hoodie and blue jeans, but being that he must wear traditional garb when training, he often doesn't get the choice. He may be laughed at and teased for these choices, but he realizes that this is the way it must be in order to complete his training. He has an Eastern look about him, but it seems to be diluted with another race, possibly African judging by his naturally bronze complection. He looks only slightly above average, with his short, jet black hair and his dull blue eyes. Most people say that his eye color clashes with his hair and skin color, and it does somewhat, but not enough to call him ugly, just strange-lookin'.
Personality: Kenneth is quite friendly but he is rarely seen socializing due to the strange clothes he wears. He has very low self esteem and will apologize for thinks that aren't his fault. He repeatedly puts himself down, all the while smiling.
History: Some call Kenneth a hero, some call Kenneth crazy, but the select few who have gotten to know him, call him a flat-out failure.
These select few would be the fellow disciples and teachers of the dojo he trained at intensively for the first 18 years of his life. He was training to be a samurai, but first he became acquainted with the art of Kung fu, becoming quite proficient in it's practices. Things seemed to be going well until he began to study what he wanted to do most, which was become a Samurai. He tried and tried, but it seemed that the traditional Samurai style of fighting was just not for him, he was always messing up. He would frequently accidentally strike fellow students with swords, lose his practice sword, let it fly out of his hand while practicing a sudden-death strike, nearly anything that could go wrong with his bamboo stick did.
As he grew older, and repeated lessons over and over again, he eventually reached a level of skill allowing him to receive a real Katana, sheath and all. One week later however, they had to find a replacement for it, because he had lost it, days later, he would lose it again.... and again. Eventually his sensei became weary of Ken's constant failures and attempted to eject Ken from the Dojo, but Ken pleaded that he stay. The Sensei came up with a deal, he would let Kenneth train with as many swords as he needed within the course of a week, after that, Ken would have to last two minutes in a battle with the Sensei.
And so Ken trained and trained, figuring out that he couldn't wield his sword like his fellow students, but that he had to find the correct way for himself. This was the seed that allowed him to develope his own style. So the day came when he faced his Sensei on the field of combat.
He, of course, lost miserably, witnesses don't remember the fight going past the word "begin!". He was swiftly ejected from the dojo, his honor stained. He felt so disheartened that he attempted to kill himself that very night, but when he raised his blade to plunge into his innards, it broke, falling to the ground, evidently the blow the Sensei used to strike the blade did much more than destroy Ken's hopes and dreams, but also the sword he was using. At the moment his sword, nearby villagers could hear a faint cry of "WWWHHHHHYYYYY!!!!!??" echoing along the foothills.
He left the Island he trained on and traveled to China, eventually catching a ride to England, there he hoped to further his training, and to develop his style much more. Along the way he befriended a well known scientist and samurai enthusiast named Grave Lennon, Grave offered Ken a katana specially designed and crafted by his research and development team. The sword was a perfect fit for Ken. He then continued his training while doing missions for his only friend, Grave, it seemed Grave liked to collect antiques and demonic body parts for some reason. Grave says it's for research but most of his assistants are pretty sketchy on it.
Seven or so years passed Ken trained nearly every day in order to attain what he had lost, his style was not quite new, but it was certainly not how most use their Katana's, this new style allowed him to dispatch his enemies quickly, making him an excellent running man for Grave. Unfortunately for Kenneth though, without fighting his old master again, he could not prove his skills, so until he found his way back to his dojo, he will always be nothing but a novice samurai... to himself anyway, others that have witnessed his skills would call him a seasoned pro.
Powers:
Enhanced strength: Ken, himself has the ability to pick up and hurl a car nearly thirty feet, but you will never see him do it, it's not his style.
Fleet of foot- Kenneth can jump far and pretty high, jumping is naturally faster than his average foot speed but not by much, you won't see him pulling any of those vanishing Naruto "speed" things.
Energy Inject: The special mechanism in the Katana's hilt allows Ken to inject some energy into the blade of the sword, not only making it sharper (like, sharp enough to cut through a foot of titanium like it was a piece of paper), but also has the ability to create a small yet strong barrier around the Sheath of the sword.
In addition to even those two things It can reflect energy-based projectiles (if it comes in contact with the injected blade) and extend it's range by about double the blade length(it does this by projecting an energy blade out in front of the normal one.
Equipment:
Iki: A katana crafted by Grave, it is made from the bone of a
demon that feasts on human energy, reinforced with a strong metal alloy making this sword very very hard to break. It's energy injection system lies in the hilt, in order to activate it he twists a section of the hilt sideways, much like the accelerator on a motorcycle. At that point is saps energy from the uses and injects it into the blade.
Weakness:
His low self esteem leads him to mess up occasionally during battle, tripping, and cutting himself, it's all fair game here.
He isn't very book smart, those with a high school diploma are normally smarter than he.
He can't run very quickly, especially for a person of his power level.
Missing, His style makes it so that if he misses, he is usually vulnerable for a moment.
