Name: Colin Degren
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Timeline: Flexible
Power Level: High-Tier Medium
Race: Human
Alignment: Neutral Good
Appearance: A handsome young man with sandy brown hair. Colin is about average in height. He is very athletic, but he has more of a boxer's body than a quarterback's. Colin normally wears blue, be it light or dark. While Colin is the living epitome of a neat freak, he doesn't seem to apply this manner of thinking to his dress, for one reason or another. As such, it's not uncommon for the young man to be dressed sloppily, or in the same clothes for a handful of days in a row. If he's in Ivalice or another world of medieval nature, he is dressed in a millitary uniform from a gunpowder age nation. In other words, he's wearing slacks and a jacket with long tails. His slacks are typically black while the jacket is a royal blue. His sword and cannon are at his sides in this outfit, with the cannon in a leather harness on one side and the sword in an ornate scabbard on the other.
Personality: Colin is cheerful and very outgoing. While he is a shameless flirt, enjoys the sound of his voice a bit too much and has a slight ego, Colin is a good, positive person and a great friend to have around. He’s fairly easygoing, but pretty hard to restrain when his temper is tipped off.
History: Colin Degren was a young band leader in a small town known as St. Ivalice. While not hanging around with him as much as his other friends, Colin was a good friend to a shy boy named Mewt Randell. One day, Mewt had got his hands on an ancient book. Colin didn't care much at the time, but this book changed his life. Mewt used the powerful magic concealed in the book and turned the world into his own dream reality. Mewt was effectively prince of the new world of Ivalice.
Colin woke up in a slight state of confusion, as anyone would. However, he was forced to adapt quickly when he was attacked by palace soldiers. Unlike the canon Cassandra, who was still unconscious, and the Moogle Cassandra, who was still too drowsy to fight back, Colin both fought the soldiers and won, eluding capture and the transformation that would’ve resulted. However, surprisingly enough, everything after this is almost parallel to Cassandra’s story to perfection, save a few minor, obvious differences. He still made the same friends and clan, but actually fought to restore the real world from the get-go, instead of being torn between staying or going.
Powers: As it would turn out, it seems this version of Colin has his own moveset, specializing in a unique blend of speed and power. He has amazing physical strength and his weapons grant him excellent firepower, but he lacks the spell casting variety of Cassandra.
Cannon Techniques:
Bombshell: Fires an explosive shell, causing a massive fire blast on impact.
Sniper Cannon: Launches a shell at an extremely long distance.
Dragon Killer: Fires a highly toxic round that secretes its poison upon being embedded in the target. Named "Dragon Killer" simply because dragons are the most prominent creatures that are actually big enough to have a cannon shell embedded in them rather than blowing the targeted body part off.
Sense Render: Fires a round that lets off a deafening bang, a malodourous stench and a blinding flash, debilitating most normal enemies by stripping them of their sight, hearing and sense of smell.
Potion Shell: Fires, ironically, a healing shell designed to break open harmlessly and splash healing fluids on the target.
Ether Shell: Fires a shell similar in effect to the Potion Shell, except the fluid inside restores the targets personal mana.
Historical Inaccuracy: Fires a homing rocket in spite of the fact that the cannon shouldn't be able to do so.
Room Cleaner: Fires off shells rapidly and automatically, ignoring ammo. Something of a "Limit Break" for Colin.
Sword Techniques:
Sense Render MK. II: Unleashes a flurry of slashes that excretes the same powerful venom from the Dragon Killer cannon attack, poisoning the enemy as well as knocking out their senses one by one.
Power Crush: Lands a cripping blow that shatters most armour.
Soul Crush: Lands a crippling blow that attacks the enemy's magic at the source as well as causing physical damage.
Flurry: Lands several slashes and cuts on the enemy at a blinding pace, most time leaving the enemy half hacked to pieces before they even realise they've been hit.
Coup De Grace: A high speed finishing blow, effectively being Colin's Limit Break when using the sword. It appears to be a simple, albeit speedy, lunge, but the battle spirit forced into the blade makes the strike devastating.
Weapons: Uses a portable cannon most times, and also uses a light saber in the case of close quarters combat.
Weakness: Colin's not dumb or crazy enough to use the cannon in close quarters, and it has quite a bit of kickback unless if Colin's using Room Cleaner, so his cannon attacks come with long intervals in between them unless if he switches to his sword. Also, despite the cannon being shockingly light, portable and easy to lug around, it is still easy for it to get in the way. Odds are, he'll be without the cannon in modern environments unless if there's somehow a person drawing even more attention.
