Name: Seroll Sulla (Seh-roll Sool-ah?...it's phonetic e_e)
Age: 24 year old body relatively, real age long forgotten.
Gender: Male
Race: Human...barely
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Power Level: Mid-tier Medium (5)
Timeline: Not restricted, but a medeival time period works rather well.
Appearance:
Hair: Ashen, what hair is left.
Eyes: Dark, burnt red
Skin: Charcoal hue
Build: Boney and muscular (an awkward combination)
Blood: Dark red, almost like oil. Kinda gross.
Attire: Black-light black cloak. Has a hint of violet. Black Garb.
Height: About 5'8" fully standing, but usually stands at 5' since he is frequently hunched over/crouching.
Weight: Light, just over 100 pounds.
Outstanding Features: He stands hunched over as if he carried some great load. Gives him an untrustworthy feel to his presence if his sickly appearance didn't already. It's really just him crouching. When looking at him, "hermetic" would be a word that comes to mind...
Personality: Seroll's primary purpose is to cause chaos, and this is reflected heavily in his personality. He will try to incite rage in others through slight mockery and insults. He is very critical and negative. He can be deceptive as well, and will sometimes try to turn friends against each other. He isn't elitist, but he will make it seem that way by acting as if everyone else is below him. Follows his chaos god's will without question, despite the contradiction of being so orderly and lawful in his loyalty.
History: Widely regaurded as a evil cult at the time, Seroll was part of a sort of brotherhood. They shared a common doctrine or legend. The legend was of two gods who created the earth. The god whom everyone loved was the god of order and creation, and many religions were founded upon this god. The other god, a deity of chaos and destruction, was widely hated and usually disregaurded in general. The god of order created, brought light into the world as well as order. The god of chaos was the check on the other god, destruction to undo creation, chaos to betray order, darkness and night to bring chaos to the light of day. The two gods were necessary for balance.
Neither god was inherently good or evil. They were opposite in nature, but none took an alignment, they simple were. But so it was that the god of chaos was considered evil and received no such love that was given to the god of order and creation. Neither gods had names. The brotherhood that Seroll was a part of had no names either. This, also, is related to their doctrine: they followed the god of chaos. To name something is to diminish it's meaning, and also help bring it into existence or help create it. Words helped bring order to the world through communication.
However, in order for them to bring chaos, darkness and destruction onto the world, they had to have slight order and organization. To have just a tiny bit of order in their chaos, they would sometimes have a name for the gods: The One of Day, and the One of Night. They referred to themselves, when they had to, as the Followers of the Night. Their leader was the Speaker of the Night, and served as their prophet and proxy for the One of Night. They would generally avoid using names if possible.
They had names and a reputation. They were called Knights of Night, and Chaotic Templar. Not a lot was known about them however. They weren't violent and barbarian in their behavior as a brotherhood. They would create chaos by assassinating leaders and powerful warriors. They would spread lies and attempt to turn allies against allies. They did this in the name of balance, not evil.
This brotherhood was to be no more however. The Speaker of the Night approached Seroll and told him of the things to come. The Speaker bore items that allowed him to commune with the One of Night. He said that there was too much order in their brotherhood and the time for balance and destruction had come. Seroll was not a special member of the order, just an extremely loyal follower and believer. The Speaker planned the downfall of their order through the death of the Speaker himself as well as the physical destruction of much of the order. The Speaker would pass the items from the One of Night to Seroll, and Seroll would inact the will of the One of Night without an order.
However, the Speaker was immortal with these items and the abilities and powers could only be passed to the one who killed the current possessor because the items were designed to cause chaos through a struggle for power. The Speaker had lived for a long time, and was ready to end his mortal life. So Seroll killed the speaker and made it look like an assassination. The order disbanded into many factions and a swarm of chaos ensued. Seroll has lost count of how many years ago this has happened.
He has worked in the shadows, assassinating figureheads and leaders through the centuries to balance the order and chaos. In recent times there has been too much order for Seroll to handle on his own without exposing himself, and he has had to branch out to allies. While his intentions may at sometimes seem to indicate otherwise, his true goal is always chaos, destruction, and darkness.
Equipment: Excuse the generic names for the equipment.
Cloak of the Night - Allows Seroll to travel in the shadows and Vanish. Also grants Seroll the ability hear the will of the One of the Night. Communication is typically one-way, god to man. If Seroll were to ignore his will, the will would only increase in strength till he was forced to give in or give up his power (and life...he's very old and needs the cloak to live). Gives Seroll immortality as well. The cloak cannot be torn or used by anyone but Seroll (unless they kill Seroll).
Daggers of the Night - These daggers are specially designed for the bearer of the Cloak of the Night. When wielded and willed by the bearer of the cloak, the very edge of the blades will rapidly vanish and shift in and out of shadow thousands of times per second. The effect is that they will be able to cut through everything by vanishing and reappearing inside an object, wedging it apart on the quantum level with ease. The vanishing also creates an amount of chaos dust in the wake of the blades.
Powers: Immortality - Seroll will live on forever with the Cloak of the Night, however the ability causes him to appear rather ghastly. Doesn't cause him to be any less vulnerable to attacks, he just will not die of natural causes such as poisoning, disease, and old age etc. He doesn't need to eat and such, but he will still feel the pangs of hunger.
Vanish - This move functions as a very short-ranged instantaneous teleport (10 feet maybe) that releases a lot of chaotic dust in the wake.
Shadow Traveling - This ability is only really accessible during the night (unless he is somewhere indoors that is very dark) and won't work in lighted places. He can move through the darkest of shadows by simply moving into them. He becomes part of the shadow during this ability and his physical form is gone. If the shadow were to be illuminated, his body would be forced into corporeal form. He can move instantaneously through the shadows and can sense outside of the shadow from all points of the shade. He can attack from the shadows while keeping most of his body in the shadow.
Chaotic Dust - This weird smoke-like dust is released when Seroll vanishes or swings his daggers. This dust will contract the pupils in those who inhale, or come into enough physical contact with the dust, reducing their night vision and eye sensitivity. The dust also increases the adrenaline and reduce focus in the target. While an increase in adrenaline is usually beneficial, the loss of focus counteracts the adrenaline and is designed to make the target jumpy and prone to mistakes that can cause collateral damage to allies or to themselves. Only works on humans. This move ideally is supposed to increase fear, or make a target more susceptible to fear, but it will not do so in normal RPs.
Combat and acrobatics info: Seroll will attack with slicing and quick, sharp swinging motions rather than stabbing motions since the blades to produce more Chaotic Dust when swung rather than plunged. Seroll is rather acrobatic and will incorporate a lot of flips into his combat as well as, and sometimes with the aid of, vanishing. Sometimes Seroll will vanish twice as much as he swings his daggers for the chaotic confusion and greater amount of Chaotic dust produced. He focuses on slicing arteries and tendons and will flee from a battle once a mortal wound has been inflicted.
Weakness: Light will inhibit some of his capabilities. Non-humans will also fare well against him.
I don't really like the abilities of this character, too...dark?. But I feel they fit the personality well.
