He gave him an understanding look, he'd dealt with creatures that shared the same predatory aura. The familiarity betrayed the closest thing to friendliness in his voice, "Delightful- ah yes, I didn't quite catch your name..?"

Thought Scar could see the fear in the young Alien's face at the sign of his coin. He remembered what the mysterious woman had said earlier to him, their disturbance at the sight of silver. He didn't think the metallic color would set off their aversion to silver, but it apparently did. He had to know why, he wouldn't have another friendly alien. Of course, it could be risky to speak as if he knew they had disdain for silver, best to play it off as an observation.
"Thank you for the robes, before I leave though, I need some questions answered." He spoke, his voice quiet, calm and low.
"One. The temple, how violently would they react to my presence if I wore these robes and I were to visit their halls?" He questioned then continued. "Two..." He then held up the metal coin. "The sight of this disturbed you, why?" He asked.

*Barren Field*
"Lucubro Epsilon, fifth Guardian of the Gate." He dipped his head, his black gaze flitting between Gen and the Skull King again. "It's very good of you to show concern for your slave's wellbeing."
"That's very interesting." Veritas remarked to Terry, her attention wandering like it really wasn't, but then she started dishing out orders. "Rush, escort this creature back to the facility. Lucubro, take his friend. Nova—" Her head swiveled from side to side, looking for the sixth Guardian.
She spotted him, still on the far side of the field, playing with his hatchets. She cupped her hands around her mouth, shouting over the barren space. "Nova is on patrol in the VERY, VERY POOR SECTOR as of RIGHT NOW!"
The specified Guardian vanished in a red flash, and the woman turned back around, smoothing her jacket. "Sorry, Lucubro, I know you just used the Dark Gates. I need you to transport everyone else."
The man only nodded. "It's nothing, Commander."
Veritas glanced up from her smoothing at the psychic. "Help him out. Impendo, you're with me. Everyone, you're going to suddenly find yourselves in a very dark place called 'The Big Room.' Do not be alarmed, just wait, quietly, for someone to find the lights. Ready?"
-
The young man's gaze was instantly back on the gleaming coin. "They welcome new converts, no matter the history. They would give you the under robe without question and point you to the lavatory, and then you'd surrender your old attire." His chest seemed to inflate with fear and he chewed his lip, his fangs glimmering red in the dim light. "And put that out of sight, before someone sees you!" He hissed. "Silver is the sacred color, you can't touch it, you can't kill bugs with it on their shells or keep birds that have it on their wings. You could be put to death for even having that."
Dala still had a wild, shaken look about him when he moved to get up the stair and back on the road. "Just get rid of it somewhere. A witch might pick your pockets and find it and report you."

*Barren Field*
Gen wanted to glare daggers at him but she found her head was exceptionally difficult to turn in the right direction. So she continued to appear to be examining her nails which were somehow still impeccably manicured despite the previous battle.
He smirked inwardly at Gen being called a slave again. He kept his controlling tug motions subtle, he could feel her trying to express anger in the only way she could. Once more it was a joke that only appealed to him and evoked silent laughter from him. The Skull King kept his voice the usual cold tinged with poison, "She is a valuable and irreplaceable asset to me. I only treat her as the creed of exchange demands."

*Caelus and the mermaid* Beginning to get exasperated, Caelus got a bit forceful with one of the plates, accidentally smashing it against the table. While gathering up the remains, he sputtered out a few apologies, laying them in a small pile away from the cleaned silverware.

Terry raised his sleek Blitzkrieg hand. "Question," he asked. "Whatifwe'renyctophobic?"

"Let'sgo!" In an instant, the slight woman blew past Terry, and on over the hills on the far northern side of the field.
Lucubro turned back to the remaining visitors, lifting his arms to point straight out at his sides. Aspectus reached out and vanished in a bright flash as he tapped one of the witch's hands. As the obsidian Guardian's eyes flashed blue around the edges, the black ground got blacker still as the shadows beneath stones bled out, pooling in a wide circle.
The air suddenly reeked of sulfur and smoke, and was heating up rapidly, when the shadows pulled them all in and all was dark and hot. There was only an instant of abysmal space and then light again, or what seemed like light, before they all fell in what was just less severe darkness. It must have been the "Big Room" Veritas described. The atmosphere was comfortable again, but the landing was rough, though the space beneath them was padded with what felt like gymnastics mats.
The lights came on, blinding everyone for a second and then revealing the room to be, in fact, very big. It was a hexagonal training room, with enormous iron cubes littered everywhere, one wall of nails, each spike filed to a needle point, and many different floorings, some of it akin to shag carpet, some ashen cement, most of it the black matting beneath the recently transported.
The two natives were separate entities again, the blue-eyed psychic standing off to one side, like he had found a better angle to judge them all from, and the mottled, ink-eyed shadowmonger standing in the same proximity he'd been to them back on the field.
The former was the first to speak. "You've all just been teleported approximately two hundred miles." Just like before, the words didn't match his lips, and they stopped moving a while before he finished talking. "Any sudden queasiness you may be experiencing is all your own imagination."
*Caelus and the mermaid*
The still-topless Isabelle had turned back to the water, splashing idly, when the plate was smashed. Her head whipped around, eyes flashing. "That was a Ming, you klutz!" probably referring to the dynasty, then her voice deepened to a guttural roar. "Keep it up and you'll be sleeping with some other fish."

Gen couldn't help upchucking more black substance. The Skull King clapped her across the back with less than kind force, "She has quite the imagination I'm afraid."

'Do not bother lying to us.'
Aden took that as 'Do not bother speaking to us'. Too many people were entering and exiting his life, and they had too much control over him. This was making Aden quite stressed. And, as if his life had just been turned into a giant metaphor, he was thrown through fire and sulfur, darkness and chaos, to be moved two hundred some odd miles away. And he had no say in the entire thing. Where were his friends and family, who would do whatever it was he wanted, unknowingly or not?
The psychic was flung onto the mats and rolled a little before he landed laying on his back. He let himself lay there for a minute, deciding if he should even bother getting up. It was dark, but there was always something for Aden to see. He recognized a lot of the people around them by their spiritual threads. At least he wasn't starting over again. He picked himself up and listened, but remained silent.

*Caelus and the mermaid* Not responding at all well to the threat, Caelus whipped around, a grimace on his face. "Don't even think about trying to threaten me."

Aspectus gave the mess Gen made a very dry stare that would have made any sentient vomit blush and clean itself up. "Weren't you going to do something about that?"
"Ah, yes," Lucubro confirmed, mumbling, "But I wanted to check it out with Commander, first... You remember last time."
The psychic tilted his head, not remembering. '...Oh, yeaaah, I don't know how I forgot. It isn't like you're in public this time.' The message was one that was supposed to be on a private channel, yet, somehow, the visitors could hear it quite clearly.
'Confessional isn't public.'
Aspectus spoke aloud again. "Go help them. I'm not going to argue semantics with you."
"Well, I..." The pagan was put on the spot, but he muttered it off, closing the two steps over to Gen and helping her upright, though he didn't look at her, speaking to the Skull King. "May I have a few minutes alone with her?"
*Caelus and the mermaid*
The fish woman's stare was level, and dangerous, but she didn't say anything. He'd probably be safe from ejection until he finished the dishes.

He heaved a sincere sigh of regret, "If possible treatment is to force such a thing..." his words trailed off as his fingers did along the skin over the surface of her hand, "she should certainly go with you alone." He retracted his cold touch from her, it would appear to be an ill-masked touch of reassurance as far as the others could tell, but Gen knew better.
She knew his sort and the meaning such contact meant and the warning it carried. Speak against me and you'll regret it.

"Thank you for understanding." He was again mouthing something different, and turned to lead poor Gen out of a high tech garage door. She could see his black and navy skin more clearly in the white light— his hands were scarred over with carved runes and spells, contrasting her pale arm with a dark aura. "Please come with me."
-
Lucubro took her down a black hallway with a white linoleum floor, and then took a right, through another garage door, and down a white hallway with a black linoleum floor.
She hadn't noticed him remove his boots, yet when they reached a small door at the end of a white hall with blacked windows on either side, he bent over to pull them back on, not saying a word the entire trip until just then. "Are you up for a short hike, Miss?"

Ironically enough being separated from the grasp of the Skull King was leaving her fairly insecure. She wasn't sure what she could do with yet another stranger. At the question she merely nodded her head and rubbed her hands over one and other, fingering at the blade in her wrist again.
It was the only real thing she had to rely on besides this one named Lucubro. There was too little information for her to feign calmness, she was panicking, there was no denying it any longer. Even the thoughts of wanting it all to be some dream issued by the Island and to wake up back in her little office filled with file cabinets and red orchids were being pushed out of her head. She vaguely wondered when she'd snap and wondered even further if that man was planning on it happening.

The Epsilon ranger put a palm to the door, leaving her to stand without aid as the flat metal slid up. It was a back door to the facility, one the Guardians used to avoid prying eyes.
Outside was the same landscape she'd just seen, the red-black sky and barren granite. Across the field she could spot a bright stream of lava, and a ways from that, up on a hill, was something almost like a grove, the trees all white, skeletal poles.
"Are you sure?" He asked, sounding a lot less evil and little more polite, now that they were away from everyone. "I could teleport us again, if you'd like. It would be much faster."
