"Damn." He sighed as he stood back up. He looked up to the sky and gave a call to the dieties who had most likely sent him there. "I bet you think this is hilarious." He cracked his neck and stomped off after the little dwarf, obviously ticked at Ego and Animus.

"Well, it varies from one kind to the next," he explained, "but they're all flavored, carbonated drinks. The color and clearness depends on what flavor it is."

"Don't look at us," said the mocking voice he'd heard on Earth as he stomped through the underbrush, stubborn sticks and branches swatting at him as he went. "We made the suggestion, but your god agreed!"
In minutes, he could see the rugged camp the little dwarf was from, and he had nearly walked right into it, but the fighting twigs still hid him.
The tents were all bark-brown and covered with leaves and camouflage, and there was only four of them, arranged in a little circle around a fire pit bordered by smooth stones. Smoke still wafted up from the ashes, and the place smelled a great deal like breakfast.
The little girl was there, beating her fists on a dryad's lavender apron. The Greek figure was trying to calm the child down, shushing her and holding her head with her long, white fingers.
"There's a mooonsterrr!" The little girl wailed miserably.
"There's no such things as monsters, Mina," he heard the twiggy-haired dryad say. "I'm sure it was just a unicorn."

"Oh..." Said the Pyran, turning back to Terry and closing the metal door, fixing him again with her slit pupils. "We don't have water in a liquid form here. We have tree sap, but it's disgusting."

"I bet it was Lord Fire. He has always hated my family. Oh well..." He kneeled down to study the shorter beings closer. "Hrm, I'm in luck. She seems to be a young one. Maybe they'll be the ones to pass my previous sighting as imagination now for some acting." He stumbled through the threshold of trees as if he were lost. He darted looks all over then focused on the small figures and began to back up. He acted as confused and scared as he possibly could, perhaps they would pity him instead of fear him as the Mina had.

The dryad shrieked, and Mina hugged the willowy woman's knees with another ear-riving wail. The woman was startled by Cadaervec's sudden appearance, but she collected herself almost immediately, and tried instead to pry the girl from her bare legs.
"Mina, stop it," she scolded, looking up at the stranger again. "Hello! We're friendly. Are you lost, sir?"

Cadaervec pushed out a fake sigh of relief. "I glad to hear you are friendly." He wiped his brow as if he was sweating over the ordeal. "Actually, I am lost. Please, call me Cadaervec." He held out his hand in greeting and smiled at the two.

"Tea from Hell?" Amelia repeated with a faint smile. "Sounds ... different." She allowed the strange alien women - though whom was she to think someone strange? - to lead her away from there. If nothing else, they seemed friendly. As they went, she decided to ask another question. "Who are these Guardians you mentioned?"

Terry glanced toward Rush with a raised eyebrow. "How'd you know it took water?"
