Couple more of us... owner... first time? Aden was horribly confused. Wasn't he supposed to be going home, where he was the only one with an advantage and fully in control of his world. He wiped grimy droplets of sweat off his forehead with the back of his hand. His ambitions were still present, but his mental stability seemed to be breaking.
"When am I going home?" The empath had tried to ask the question calmly, as just a curiosity, but stress and fear crept into his tone, and his voice came off a little bit shakily.

The witch set his sketch down to read Gen's chicken story. His facial expression didn't change as his black, dripping eyes scanned down.
"...I cannot read this," Lucubro deadpanned as he reached back to put the work on top of his array, "But I'm sure it will suffice."
He took the sketch he'd been working on and set it on top of Gen's story. It was just the suggestion of a face, the only features were pink hair and a pink iris. Standing up and clearing his throat, he reached into his gray jacket and drew out a glass bottle of some clear liquid.
"You're hurt when art is ruined!" He held the little vial out at arm's length, uncorked it, and poured only a fraction of its contents onto the work.
"Upon contact the papers burst into pinkish flames that seemed to burn sideways instead of up." Bright white motes flickered to life from where the new voice seemed to come from, forming a very tall woman's body. "Perhaps the paper was already fireproof and so had to be destroyed in a more dramatic manner."
When they solidified, the woman jumped on the papers, patting them out frantically as she talked. She didn't seem to be Ego, but it was possible with the goddess' shapeshifting abilities. "The fire was stopped quickly, and the woman shuffled through the damaged work, looking frazzled by the destruction."
Lucubro calmly returned the bottle to his inner jacket. "We have some questions, Word Spirit."
"The Word Spirit looked up, sounding irritated and embarrassed, and the witch only stared back, a little unnerved by the narration."
Lucubro shivered. "We summoned you to find out why this woman has lost her powers. And why she's throwing up."
"The Word Spirit glanced over at the woman indicated." And she did. Somehow, it was hard to pick out the "Word Spirit"'s specific features, as if the person was in a different... format. But finally, she stopped narrating. "I keep forgetting what you guys are trying to find out. Do remind me. Quickly, 'cause I'm not supposed to do this."
*Base - The Big Room*
"Poor kiddo." Rush walked over to Aden, no pity showing on her face as she stood over him; the Guardians really seemed emotionally void. "Don't get too worked up. We'll do what we can, but ultimately, it's up to Mogg."

"He'll be fine," Blitzkrieg intoned in a stressed tense that suggested he was forcing his words to slow down for the benefit of the others, the icon on his chest, not unlike an hourglass or some sort of X symbol, blinking red; he ignored it. "He's just rattled. Probably missing his blankie."
And the flashing icon beeped and a flash of light engulfed the alien creature momentarily before leaving one in its place more similar to the others present. He had become Terry once more, and he promptly took his boots off and set them where she had indicated, since he could now do so.

The whole spectacle was fairly speech depriving on the part of Gen but she eventually found her words and apparently, rage, "How do I get back home? How do I get my powers back? If I can't get a straight answer about either of those, at least humor me and tell me how to stop this ridiculous amount of vomiting!"
*Big Room*
He had nothing to contribute to the discussion, but the flashing symbol on the annoying child piqued his interest. Maybe he too was in some kind of demon pact. He'd had to keep tabs on that, he was probably one of the only other threats thus far.

"The Word Spirit's gaze was a flat one. 'You're not my character, how should I know?'" The woman paused, her form wavering in silence. "Lucubro unconsciously checked his jacket, thinking before he spoke."
The witch stopped examining his clothes. "Please stop doing that. Is there a way we can find out?"
"Find out what? Oh. The woman hesitated, looking at Gen like she herself held the answer. You could always summon your Word Spirit. Time passes faster for us, so we've already talked about it. But you have to do the summoning."
*Big Room*
True opened her mouth to speak, but closed it just as quickly. She was still terrified of dimensional collapse and destruction of the timeline; she didn't dare do or say anything.
"So you are a shapeshifter!" Rush announced, quickly distracted from Aden. "What else can you turn into?"

Despite having scolded the word spirit she rechecked herself, "Ah, yes then..." she scoured her mind for what she could attempt. She suddenly yelled, "I WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANAGER!"
A person whose hands were positioned like they had been holding something plopped out of an invisible hole. For being such a squat, shaman-looking creature, she certainly looked disgruntled, "Oooooooh boy," she drawled as she lazily dusted herself off.
Gen yelled again, this time shriller, "FIX THIS!"
"I was gonna, jeez. OK about your nosy questions, fish outta water, capiche? As for that puking business I've been putting it off cuz you can't figure out to Heimlich yourself. Here I'll save you the trouble." A metal bat came out of nowhere and just as fast was hurled at Gen's abdomen like it were a baseball. It clattered to the ground and fizzled out of existence just as Gen's knees hit the floor from the impact.
She gave a mighty heave and a paintbrush, plastic ink bottle and a folded piece of paper shot out to the floor. Gen's Word Spirit, as it had yet to give a name snatched up the paper and it withered away. "It's a sample pack of a variation of your powers. I call it the Swiss Army Deus Ex Magical Ink Brush Kit, SADBIK for short. You draw an object and you can use it for a while. Usage is limited, it depends on how big and world altering it is so don't be stupid. Oh and the coughing won't happen from now on, do you know how annoying it was to keep writing it out each time for records?!"
The correctional officer scowled at the other being but was grateful.
"Yeah you better be grateful. I was in the middle of something else, since that's all you needed and you're a happy camper, I'll be going now. This better not happen again." Despite saying this, she gave a friendly wave to the other word spirit before hopping back into nonexistence.
*Big Room*
He scoffed and mumbled under his breath, "Pity he can't change into less of a brat."

"The W-hehe, Word Spirit could ha-hardly contain-Hahahaha!" The woman rolled onto her back in a fit of hysterics.
Lucubro knelt beside Gen, placing a concerned hand on her shoulder. "Are you hurt?"
"Eeehehe. That was good, that was really good. The Word Spirit kept grinning, despite this development and the Guardian's glare."
"It's a pointed stare." Lucubro defended, scowling all the same. "Thank you for your help."
"See if I write you a swift death." The woman stood, flickering unstably. "Good night, then. I've already been here since yesterday morning."
"Good heavens."
"Deadpanned Lucubro. I haven't been sitting here for two days, of course. I went to the mall. Anyway. The Word Spirit waved her left hand as it began to disintegrate, the rest of her following in white motes that-" vanished just as quickly.
The witch redirected his attention, as if nothing spectacular had just happened. "I'm very sorry. I didn't know your Word Spirit would act like that."

The officer was picking herself and her new 'gifts' up from the floor, wiping the last of the black ink off of them and stowing them near the book-holder on her belt. "It's no trouble, I should have been expecting that actually."
She looked around, awkwardness settling about now that she had been given a bill of clean health despite being briefly assaulted. "Perhaps we should get back to the others?" Honestly she didn't want to but the simple things were keeping her stable now, even if the simple things were ugly things such as being in the ownership of a human devil.

"I have ten other forms available to me," Terry explained to Rush in response to her question, ignoring the Skull King's comment - Metal Head would show the man up real quick. "One of them would probably cause something of a stir if I used it here, though." He reached back and scratched the back of his head. "Unfortunately, it's the one form I don't have any control over when it comes up. You'll ... know it when you see it, so just please don't freak out too much when it happens."
*Somewhere Else Because True Hasn't Decided Where So I'm Leaving It Up To Her*
She immediately felt the heat blast against her unprotected body and her clothes buffeted in it and grew hot, as well. She patted at a few spots where passing embers nearly set the fabric afire and looked around at the surroundings. "It's times like these I'm kind of glad I'm not made of flesh," the girl muttered, looking like a girl of about high school age, extremely pale - bone-white, in fact - and with joints oddly defined. Wraps covered her knees and elbows, however, to keep the more obvious ones from showing. For now, however, all she could do is let her eyes roam the scene before her as she tried to get her bearings or find anything where she might be able to find out more.

"Certainly," the witch stood up after Gen. He looked and sounded drained, though he was trying not to show it. "Are you well enough to walk?"
*Big Room*
Aspectus and Rush spoke at the same time, both of them eerily flat. "We are incapable of freaking out."
But the speedster tilted her head at him, continuing as she rocked back and forth on her heels. "What kind of form is it?"
"A dragon!" True suddenly jumped in, probably spooking Aden. "It's a huge, lava-drooling dragon."
*I Told You, By the Lava River Thing*
The land was scorched and barren, the skies black and the wild air thick with poison smoke and fog. The only grounded light came from a sluggish river of fire some fifty yards away, and beyond that was the suggestion of civilization, a small, blank grey complex faintly red in the dying light.
But there was no life in sight. Up on a hill, she could see some wretched trees, bleach white as her bones, but all seemed dead.
Then the rocks behind her stirred, the black stone cracking and pulsing, showing bright orange liquid underneath. The largest rock split open, splaying dozens of charred fangs, every evil tooth as long as her hand, the centerpiece a gaping, burning red hole that a waving black tongue guarded. Twin white orbs blinked open on either side of the stone, the heat from them easily twice what the smoky planet had already offered Amelia. She felt them focusing, and then it roared, the terrible sound blasting in her face andreverberating through her chest.

"Of course, thank you very much sir," she bowed as she spoke her words of gratitude.
*Big Room*
Ten forms? Each with a time limit if that blinking emblem was any indicator. Now to find the catalyst for such a power... Despite the examination of the other he kept speaking in that flat tone, "If that's true it sounds like an improvement." It was hard to tell if he was trying to make a joke out of it or be sarcastic.

Terry went with True's suggestion, deciding it best not to contradict her. "Yes," he agreed sarcastically with the Skull King, "randomly turning into a lava-spewing monster does wonders for morale."
*Lava Place*
Amelia was curious about the rock at first, leaning in close to examine it, until it let out its roar and she jumped back, quite nimbly for someone without any muscle. She held her hand outstretched before her as if that would somehow wave the monster off, but didn't do anything else. "Stay back!" she ordered in English. "Stay back!"

He dipped his head in return. "It was no trouble." All the same, he was glad they were going downhill, despite his claim, so the trip would be easy and uneventful. Strange, though. For a second he thought he heard a Water Dragon's cry, but that was silly. They didn't come this far West.
Snapping out of his reverie, he started walking. "This way."
*Big Room*
True relaxed, and both Guardians nodded, like that, of all things, would freak them out, thanks for the warning.
"Well," Rush kept talking, probably the most conversational Guardian, second to Nova, "We have some time before Commander gets here, so all of you guys can breathe until then. We're not gonna eat you." She flashed a grin, baring a mouth full of white fangs.
*Lava Place*
The rock-beast shook it's head, bellowing at her again. That was a negatory. It rose from the ground on bulky boulders that broke under its weight and divided into orange-striped legs and massive, three-clawed feet. With a thunderous crumbling, it took a long, dragging step towards her, roaring continuously. Perhaps it didn't need to stop for breath.

Gen wasn't very surprised at the lack of any real social cohesion between the groups when she and Lucubro had returned. She thought it better to actually not feebly make any real conversation and made a beeline for the Skull King, who smiled smugly at her and expectantly. She wasn't sure about what she should let on, reveal or keep to herself. She was in a better position but not at one where she could call the shots.
The Skull King bowed at her returning to him, held out a frigid hand, obviously tugging at her to comply to hold out hers and receive an out of character kiss. The so-called chivalry was disturbing as always. She returned to his side, refraining from wiping the back of her hand despite it being utterly dry. "So good to see you again," she managed.
He gave her that lazy feline smile again, "So good to see you can speak again little doll."

Terry glanced around and motioned toward Rush and her grin. "Am I the only one that thinks that's hot or is it just me?"
*Lava River*
It was made of rocks, apparently. Rocks didn't hold up well to ice. It caused them to crack and fissure. So with concentration, an ice-blue orb formed at the palm of Amelia's outstretched hand after this consideration and a blast of magic packing the cold of a blizzard launched out at the rock creature.
