Name: Sasha
Age: Unknown
Gender: Variable, Female by Default
Race: Shape-shifter, Human Mutant
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Power Level: 7
Timeline: Medieval-Modern
Appearance: (Original Art By Asrai)
Personality: Unstable. Given the extremely mailable nature of her body, it is nearly impossible for Sasha's brain chemistry to settle into an equilibrium, making her subject to sudden and often violent mood swings. Bouts of mania and dementia come and go at unpredictable intervals but constant across all of Sasha's emotional wavelengths are behaviors consistent with hypersexuality and sadism. Above all else, the only thing that compels Sasha is the desire for pleasure, and the hunger to consume. Though she has the ability to absorb nearly all forms of matter, Sasha's tastes favor human flesh, living or dead, as well as a wide variety of chemicals and toxins. Including, but not limited to: Oil, gasoline, paint, paint thinner, bleach, salts, antifreeze, mercury, battery acid... And chocolate.
History: In an age before molecular science, Sasha was an alchemist. Being a woman, her work was often the subject of jealous scorn among her peers, who openly mocked her to distract from their own failures. Insulted, Sasha secretly began to pursue a dangerous course of research that would prove her mastery of tangible matter. Alchemy of the Flesh.
In the past, other venerable alchemists had experienced many horrific failures dealing with such practices, but Sasha did not repeat their failures. At first only small creatures were receptive to her methods, which were gradually improved to allow her to manipulate much larger creatures, and tuning Sasha's fascination into an obsession. Soon, she had become the subject of her own experiments, and it was near this time that her work was discovered.
Much of it was brought before the tribunal as evidence to prove Sasha was a witch and a lunatic. Those in the court were faced with caged animals that had been twisted an mutated almost beyond recognition. Golems of stretched flesh and impacted bone. The judges angrily questioned the accused as to the misshapen specimen that quivered, wheezed, and sometimes screamed behind the bars of the largest cage. Sasha would not apologize for her genius. She looked up to them and simply stated, truthfully, "The sum of man and horse."
Unlike her monsters, Sasha would not be given a quick death. The tribunal condemned her as a witch and so sentenced her to be publicly whipped, placed in stocks, and slowly starved to death. Much of the skin of her back was torn away after a hundred lashes, and yet, when her emaciated body was finally taken down from display, her wounds had completely healed. Though none could tell at the time, Sasha was still alive. Under such trauma and stress, the mutations that had begun to manifest in her body had placed Sasha into a state of hibernation as it struggled to preserve her. And to grow...
With no respect or remorse, the city's undertakers dumped Sasha's supposed corpse into a fissure, where she tumbled down and down until she met with the cave floor and the forgotten bones of many other nonpersons. The jolt had been enough to wake her. Pained by her newly broken bones, she tired to scream. Parched by thirst, little more than a wheeze escaped her dry throat, followed by soft whimpers as she felt her skin begin to crawl. She began to panic. Something in her knew what was happening, and that same something made her close her eyes. Sasha quietly sighed as she passed into sleep and obscurity.
Like the roots of an aging potato, Sasha's weakened body began to sprout nutrient-seeking tendrils. They found just enough sustenance in the bodies of other condemned criminals who were cast down into the dark to join Sasha in her grave. Though the flow of bodies ceased after many years, the flow of rain water did not and helped to sustain the forgotten alchemist as she slept, but it was not enough. The forces that drove her continued evolution yearned for something more, and had to wait centuries before it finally came. By the barrel.
As it had been before, Sasha's cave became a receptacle for what was unwanted by the world above. But rather than dead bodies, Sasha's thirsty roots were given a steady supply of toxic waste, so generously provided by a careless industrial corporation. When the company's illegal dumping activities were uncovered by the authorities, a team of scientists was dispatched to the unmapped caves to assess the damage to the environment. Safe in their protective suits it didn't take long before they found what they were looking for, though not in the form they had expected...
Powers:
Regeneration - Cuts, holes, and any other psychical trauma caused by normal weapons heals almost instantly, rendering them nearly useless against Sasha.
Shapeshifting - Sasha can sculpt her body into any form she desires, most often choosing that of a buxom woman resembling who she was in life. From this body she can sprout dozens of elastic tentacles as her weapon of choice. Her consistency can be as thin as cooking oil or as thick as tar. Though she has a difficult time making her body any harder than tire rubber, she seldom needs to be. Her fluid state is much more useful for drowning her victims, which is one of her favorite finishing techniques.
Corruption - An infusion of Sasha's essence into a living body can cause rampant and horrific mutation as it spreads through out the body. The end result is typically a hideous zombie-like trawl, mindlessly obedient to Sasha's will. Though horrifying these poor souls are often only dangerous in large numbers.
Corrosion - Though her touch is not always acidic, it can if she wills it to be. Sasha will often wash herself over victims like a caustic tidal wave to quickly and painfully dissolve them into nothing.
Absorb - Similar to corrosion, absorb allows Sasha to add to her mass by consuming other materials and converting it to match her body's chemical makeup. If a sufficient amount of a given substance is consumed, Sasha will gain the ability to mimic it's properties for a limited time. When heroes are absorbed into Sasha, their powers will also become part of her until their essence has later been "digested".
Equipment: None
Weakness: As a consequence of her chemical makeup, Sasha's body is highly flammable. She will combust if subjected to high temperatures. Conversely, sufficiently colder temperatures will freeze her, and it is possible that that a strong enough solvent make be able to dissolve her. Electric shocks can also cause Sasha to loose her form, which she must concentrate to maintain.
Note: May be subject to a bit of fine tuning, but right now I'm exhausted. ^^;
