Name: Ivan Karloff, A.K.A. The Russian
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Neutral Good
Power Level: 4
Timeline: Modern
Appearance: Originally a brunet, Ivan’s hair is now a pepper color due to stress and metal flakes he has coating it. His hair is usually swept back except for a small strand, obviously based off the hair style of Superman. He has rust colored eyes with dark crow’s feet. He wears a blue shirt with a plunging neckline, connected to a darker blue pair of loose pants. He wears black leather boots and has bands of different metals running up his arms and three bands going around his waist as belts. As a remnant of his old job, Ivan has a large hammer with him at all times, hanging from one of the belts.
Personality: Ivan is very prideful. He has issues with his ego being to large at times, though generally his is easily able to back up what he says. Ivan tends to enjoy his alcohol a little too much, and has annual bouts of insomnia around December.
History: Ivan was born in a small village in Russia. Life was simple for him; being the son of a blacksmith he learned the trade, becoming a virtuoso of the forge. His talents brought Ivan to Moscow where he attempted to open up shop and failed, due to Moscow not needing a blacksmith when it had machines.
Ivan did not take it too seriously, and moved to a small village a few hours away by horseback from his home village. He married a pretty young girl and was a successful blacksmith, slowly buying himself a nice plot of land and a comfortable farm. Life went on peacefully, and a little over a year ago his powers developed.
Ivan was working by the forge when the metal support above him broke and fell. Alarmed and unable to move Ivan through his arms up and prayed he would live. His powers went overdrive, and the beam compressed itself down into the size and shape of a ball before sliding harmlessly into the furnace. Never again has his powers worked with such power.
Word got out as Ivan began to better control his powers, and soon the government gave him a choice. Let himself be tested by scientist in exchange for taking complete care of his family and all relatives, or be forcibly arrested and experimented on. It is easy to see which choice he took.
A year and a half since his powers were revealed, The Russian was given clearance to be given a field run. Ivan does not know what the scientists did to him, as he feels normal.
Powers: Ivan is capable of manipulating the metal elements when they are in large quantities. This enables him to use metal in ways most would find alien. His clothes are completely made of metal, as a way to constantly improve his powers he must keep a small amount of thought into keeping his cloths flowing like cloths and hard enough to hold together. Metal flakes cover his hair, giving it a peppered appearance, and Ivan can harden the powder to create an imitation hard hat.
Ivan can mass convert his skin into metal, increasing his strength and endurance at the cost of speed and ability to swim due to his composition and shape. This effectively stops wounds from bleeding out, though it still remains as a wound while in the metal form.
Ivan’s control of the metal elements ties into his fighting form, the bands and belts he wears liquefying and reforming into his weapons. He can only manipulate metal not touching his skin by mental force, similar to how a telekinetic can manipulate other objects. Metal that touches his he can control as if it were liquid imagination, seemingly able to do anything with it.
Speed and force is a factor harming his capabilities. If a metal piece is moving fast enough or strong enough it would take too long for Ivan to expand his ‘field’ over it and he would have to take the hit or dodge it. His ability to liquefy and control metal takes a few moments; otherwise the metal evaporates into particles too small to control.
Unknown to him, the scientist he let run tests on him performed experiments that changed his molecular structure while attempting to super power his mental powers. His DNA is now highly metalloid, which is why he can manipulate metal touching him so easily. It has been speculated that Ivan could in fact live for centuries by creating and manipulating a body made of metal. This remains as speculation, due to Ivan still showing signs of aging.
Equipment: His hammer, and the bands and belts of metal he has adorning him
Weakness: He sinks when he is in water while in metal form, and in normal form he is a poor swimmer. He has issues with his home lands, often becoming angry over it. His pride and ego can be used against him. His powers can be blocked, and are not infallible. Should he hurry up the liquefying time he will evaporate and make the metal he was using too small for him to control.
