Name: Zaltias
Age: Millions of years looks to be about 27
Gender: Male
Race: Fallen Deity
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Power Level: High end of 7 can over the course of an RP push up to tier 8 on occasion. Especially if he manages to break the seal at some point in the RP.
Timeline: Any
Appearance: Zaltias has been described by many as having the features and appearance of a princeling. His face is slightly to thin for perfection but it has a regal beauty and tone to it that makes you forget it's thinness. His skin is smooth and line-less, and slightly blue tinted. Just enough that you notice the slightly exotic tint to his skin, but not enough to make him look strange in color. His hair is raven black and reaches down to the nape of his neck. His eyes themselves are a faint pale yellow and his body is like his face thin and lean. From his back a pair of slightly blue tinted white wings emerge. They can be used to fly. He wears a robe made from black and silver silk that is ornate and includes the added benefit of having slits in the back. From these slits his wings can emerge when they are not folded into his back. His robe also bears his personal symbol a lidless yellow eye.
Personality: Zaltias is not an easy one to judge the emotions of as he hides them behind a calm facade. He is courteous unless someone has purposefully done something to anger him greatly and even then his anger dissipates back into to seeming calm very quickly. He will often offer advice and seem sincere but a fair portion of the time the advice he offers will be false designed to advance his own goals, solely. He has a hatred for angelic or pseudo angelic beings and has sided with Hell on this world more than once. Despite this he is not a demon.
History:
Zaltias is a leftover from a bygone age. An age where a pantheon of beings like him, each with their own sphere of influence ruled over the world. For countless millennia they ruled the world and barely took notice of it, spending most of their time hidden away on their personal plains of existence. As long as the routine sacrifices and offerings were made to them they remained aloof from humanity appearing only on rare occasions when their power was questioned.
Then something happened. A new religion, a whole new system of belief appeared and began to spread. Zaltias and his brothers could not comprehend this belief, it all seemed strange and alien to them... A belief in a supreme being, a belief in a 'God', whose power dwarfed their own, a being that was there before them, over watching the material plane before they even took their first steps in the planes of their dominion. For a time they simply ignored it, believing that like all "foolish superstitions" - as they called the idea - it would die out in time. Yet it didn't, and slowly their worshipers began to dwindle. Still they waited, and unfortunately for them they waited for too long. When they finally took action by leaving their planes and entering the mortal realm, it was too late.
Their presence was not enough to turn the tide of the swinging of religions and they encountered for the first time true resistance. Zaltias and his brothers fought against the angels and were vanquished nearly completely. His brothers were all forced back into their planes and then their planes were sealed cutting his brothers off from this mortal plane.
Zaltias like his brothers lost his fights with the angels of God and like them his plane was sealed shut in theory to hold him imprisoned within it's boundaries forever. However unlike his brothers Zaltias had not been forced back into his plane before it was sealed. Now though he has become eager to escape the mortal panes and return to his own for on all planes save his own, he can truly die.
Trapped in the world of mortals and cut off from his plane he has pursued ways to destroy the barrier and return to his plane. In more recent years he has begun to realize that aiding hell may be a lost cause as they don't seem to able to help him in return with the seal. He has reestablished a church in his name that has slowly taken root in the slums of society, the places where people are eager to believe in anyone of anything that promises power. For the power of pagan gods can indeed be fueled by the worship of the masses.
Powers:
Instill Despair- Zaltias can hijack the emotions of others twisting them to produce desired results. The primary emotion he manipulates is a deep all abiding despair that can cause the afflicted to commit suicide. His ability to manipulate emotions is tied to his voice and the one he seeks to manipulate must be able to hear him speak for it to take effect
Flight- Zaltias can fly, self explanatory
Telekinesis- The ability to manipulate his surroundings with his mind. Zaltias can pick up a truck with his mind and throw it with ease. Or he could use it as a hammer to smash it into his enemies.
Psychoportation- He can use his psionics to increase and decrease the speed of others and himself.
Energy Manipulation- The use of the energy of the Void of Despair. He can use his body as a conduit to bring the power of the Void of Despair into the mortal plane. This energy is neither good nor evil, it is simply dangerous to both unholy and holy beings. He has the ability to surround himself in a bubble of this energy that functions as a shield as well. It has no distinct taste of good or evil and instead carries a faint feeling of alien wrongness.
Temporary Ethereality- Zaltias can take a fully incorporeal form that will fill up any space that he is in. He can not attack others in that form but neither can they easily attack him. He can still speak and influence others via his abilities to manipulate emotions while incorporeal but that is the limit of power that can function at that time. He can only go incorporeal for a few minutes at a time but it is often enough to get him out of harms way.
Almost instantaneous teleportation- Zaltias through use of his phase out ability can teleport almost instantly to anyplace within the space he already inhabits. If he is in a football stadium then he can teleport anywhere within that football stadiums open area.
Beyond human strength- Seriously what self respecting lord of something does not have superhuman strength. He can break a 6 inch thick steel bar with his hands.
Soul stealing- The Lord of the Void of Despair does have the power to bless mortals with abilities but at a terrible price. The mortal so blessed must surrender it's soul and then suffer an eternity of torment within the void of despair afterwards. Zaltias doesn't tell people about the last part of the terms most of the time. He does have to make sure the person in question understands all the rest of the agreement though for the contract to be valid.
Equipment: He can shape a sword from the energy of the void but other than that he has no true equipment. This sword Fear's Razor is a great sword that is black and inlaid with silver veins throughout. It also has a baleful glowing yellow eye staring out from the pommel.
Weakness: Zaltias has no glaringly obvious weaknesses, but he does have some. He cannot manipulate any forms of energy besides his own. He can fight against them but he cannot use them himself. He has a fear of being killed and so will always take precautions to ensure his own survival. This often causes problems for him as his desire to be 100% sure that he will survive a fight has led to enemies being spared the final blow for fear they might somehow drag him down with them. Zaltias also lacks the ability to maintain an active fight for very long on the mortal planes. It takes a great deal of his physical stamina and energy to maintain contact with the Void of Despair from the mortal plane. As such his fights are typically fast and he is hesitant to use his full powers for fear of completely depleting himself. He also lacks extreme speed and though faster than a normal human he pales in comparison to the speed of others with great speed.
