Name: Project Delta: Rush
Age: Early twenties.
Gender: Most likely female.
Race: Genetically enhanced Pyran.
Alignment: Lawful-Neutral pre-injury, then Chaotic-Good afterward.
Power Level: Medium-Tier, Medium.
Timeline: Modern (Compatible with any as a trans-dimensional traveler)
Appearance:
A small-boned, slouching woman with loose, ink black hair cut off just under her jaw, the strands kept well out of her glowing yellow cat's eyes with constant finger combing. Her skin is a smooth cobalt blue, her navy lips frame a mouth full of white fangs. Her narrow shoulders and thin, edgy build convey a fragility that isn't there, but a sharpness that is. Everything about the alien is striking and streamlined, broken up only by her dull uniform, a gray jacket with three-quarter sleeves, and grey pants with three-quarter legs.
It all blurs in motion, however, when her fingers melt into a flat silver blade and she's at your throat in a split second, poised to kill before you can blink, all as designed by the brilliant minds of Pyra's finest.
Personality:
It must be explained, first, that upon creation and for the duration of their Pyran allegiance, Project Delta and her teammates were designed for preformance and not charisma. She was built with her emotional centers largely locked down and monitored closely by Program Omega, a sentient noble charged with the Guardians' mental preservation.
That said, even without a full spectrum of feeling, Rush is a firecracker. Quick witted and quick to fight over it, dull moments are a foreign thing in her presence. The fourth Guardian is always on fire, and bored quickly, but she is a very social person and really likes talking, be it spiteful or harmless ribbing.
She isn't all tooth and nail, however. Even before her injury, Rush exhibited a degree of compassion for Pyra's mortal enemies, the Deflagrons, and was the first to befriend one, a nervous translator the Guardians would run into frequently on the field. This small alliance indirectly saved their lives (except for her Commander's), even after death.
Now, after having Program Omega removed, and with him her emotional limitations, Rush is still an argumentative killing machine slash shopaholic, but now she smiles and laughs when you say something funny, and she gets pissed off when she spills something on her shirt.
It does go deeper, but she's rarely pushed to it. Of Veritas, Rush is certain she's alive and fully recovered.
History:
(Note: This history is one that has essentially been rewritten for three different characters to date. For a fuller understanding, and I know you want one of those, please see the profiles for Veritas and Lucubro.)
Rush was once a nobody in her country, a plain civilian that minded her own business, until she was charged with something nefarious and arrested. She spent days in the dungeons under the temple, crying and pleading and starving, until two figures in black coats toured the place. They selected her and one other prisioner, an enormously built carpenter in for tax fraud. The man would become her partner and lifelong friend, Impendo Gamma. Neither Guardian remembers their civilian names, and all memory of their past lives has been erased.
For seven years, Impendo and Rush served as Guardians under Commander Veritas Alpha. Their workload was light and their duties were easy. Defending the Nothern Empire of Pyra was no great task, and to them, the worst part of every battle was the paperwork that came afterward. After three years in operation, Projects Epsilon and Zeta were released, and the team was six strong.
This proved to be the full lineup, and no more Guardians were commissioned under Veritas' leadership. Rush spent her days shopping and sight-seeing, usually with Project Epsilon (dubbed "Lucubro"). Though she is still officially Impendo's partner, an incident in the winding catacombs beneath Pyra entangled her and Lucubro's powers. The two share something near a psychic bond, and besides, she claims, he totally gets her.
The golden days were not to last, however. The god and emperor of Pyra ruled with a heavy hand, and it wasn't long before his severe paranoia was aroused against his servants.
Rush never fully understood what the Guardians had done wrong, or why the troublemaking Nova was Mogg's chosen agent. One night, both Veritas and Nova went missing. Rush and Aspectus (Veritas' partner) kept watch until she stumbled in, her clothes torn and dirty. She didn't know it then, but more damage had been done that night that only the psychic second-in-command could see.
Nova waited for the team he would betray in a distant canyon. They came quickly, confident and ready as ever, all except for Commander Veritas. She stood there and hugged herself, so Aspectus tried to direct the team in her place.
The fight was over quickly. Rush was hurled against a rocky wall, and she watched the rest of the battle with a broken neck, by luck the only Guardian that wasn't killed. She didn't see Commander break and run, but she saw Fluvius climb down into the chasm after Nova had gone to chase her. A great deal has been left out of this history, but suffice it to say that Fluvius was that Deflagron translator and that's why he's important now.
Soon, Rush found herself and her teammates, minus Veritas, healed and ressurected in a white laboratory. The limits on their emotions and capacity for free thought were lifted. They were told of their Commander's fate, and of Nova, who now took her place at their god's right hand. Rush took the bad news with a grain of salt, chosing to have faith in Veritas, chosing not to believe that Mogg really liked Nova all that much, because "He's such a jackass, like seriously. Anyway, I saw these shoes at Agaci..."
Powers:
Possession-
Super speed-
Limited Shapeshift-
Weapons:
Weakness: Rush is the least durable Guardian. She has the mental drive to keep fighting when the going gets tough, but she can only take so many hits. Like all the Guardians, Rush underwent extreme training to be able to function on hostile worlds like Earth, with its thinner atmosphere and frigid conditions, but she and the others are all still vulnerable to the cold. Their home planet is a world of fire, similar to Venus, and even submerged in room temperature water, Rush would die in minutes from the shock.
(Final notes: I know, I know, I tell you guys all the time, "Don't post a character until it's done, dammit!" but you all should know by now that True's a total hypocrite and it isn't like you listen to her, anyway. Actually, I just felt like I ought to get another character up with all these... other characters being put up. You know what I mean. )
