Name: General John Hupford, United States Army
Age: 43
Gender: Male
Race: Human (Undead Monstrosity)
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Power Level: High-tier Medium (6)
Timeline: Modern
Appearance: The General is an absolutely massive man, towering in at an incredible 6-foot-8-inches and a ground-pounding 389 pounds of super-dense muscle and bone. Despite no longer being of his race of birth, he still essentially resembles it. He still has hair on his head, black, kept in a rigid military cut. His strong jaw line stands out clearly on his pale, ash-grey skin, but the color of his eyes can no longer be determined, given that they have gone completely white. He is always seen in his green army uniform, complete with a number of medals and accommodations, his uniform's cap, all five of his stars clearly displayed, and his combat boots, with a big enough tread that you always knew who made the footprint.
Personality: General Hupford is as cold in his heart as he is on his skin, though the former has been such for far longer. He is power-hungry and controlling. He tolerates no corner-cutting, no excuses, and no deviation from protocol, though he, himself, is not against underhanded methods to achieve his ends. As a result of this double standard, he is somewhat paranoid of others, fearful that they would do the same, and the higher up an individual is under his command, the more surveillance they are under. Any appearance of disobedience or betrayal is met with swift and brutal pre-emptive action.
History: John's father was from a long line of military men, and each taught their son the same thing that he taught him - Power is life's greatest necessity. Nothing was ever won without it. If he was ever to be anything, he would have to first become Powerful.
Power was his god, his religion. Power was his teddy bear when he slept at night. Night and day, the importance, the necessity of Power was pounded into his mind. Any sign of weakness was met with scorn, corporeal punishment and the swearing of his father that he would be nothing but a woman at that rate.
He grew up fast, tough and mean. Any time any smack from any other boy was answered with anything but his fists or similar action, his father made sure he knew exactly what to do the next time - by doing it to him. And John learned fast. It soon became obvious there would be only two options in life for such a boy, just as there were for his father before him: Military or Penitentiary.
His high scores, both physical and intellectual, ensured easy entry into the military, and his decisiveness and efficiency caused him to raise quickly through the ranks. Eventually, as a General, he was placed in charge of a top-secret supersoldier project.
This project, the Lazarus Project at the base of the same name far out to sea on a thought-to-be empty island, was intended to make the ultimate soldier - Unquestioning, without need for food or water, and physically superior to any normal soldier, including being rid of annoying complications like pain and death.
General Hupford has been at the head of the project for ten years now, and has made it a point to save the cream of the research crop for himself.
Powers: The most notable benefit from exposure to the Lazarus mutagen has been his incredible increase in his physical attributes and the lack of any mental degradation, given his controlled application. His physical strength is great enough to lift a fire engine, and his speed has seen a similar, if somewhat lesser boost. Also, being that he's essentially no longer living, he can shrug off what would be lethal wounds, such as poisoning, suffocation or having his body riddled with bullet holes. The only sure way to "kill" him anymore would be to remove his head. He is currently searching for a way to correct this weakness.
In addition, his bones have gained the ability to sprout out, though only at the ends. This is utilized to give himself Freddy Krueger-like razor-sharp finger-blades at will. They are incredibly durable and can tear through even concrete.
Equipment: He is trained in the use of all modern firearms, the military combat knife and several other weapons, though he rarely has the need to use them anymore. If for whatever reason the need arose, however, that training still makes him particularly deadly with any of them.
Weaknesses: As already mentioned, removal of his head will kill him. He also requires regular ingestion of the food supplement designed for the creations made by the Lazarus mutagen. It is the only "nutrition" his body can absorb and it keeps his body from shutting down or decaying. He requires them at least once a week.
