Wll recently I have decided not to publish Toriji's book to the public. So with that goes all of the very obvious catering that I put into the character you all know. Though I came to love him, this is the original 'Toriji.'
Name: Tory Gennings
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Power Level: 3
Timeline: Modern
Appearance: A man with features one would expect of a mercenary. He is tall and wrapped in lean muscle and tanned skin weathered by the various environments he's braved. His dark hair hangs down just short of his eyebrows in a messy mop over his clean-shaven face, perfect smile, and intense brown eyes.
He has two different wardrobes depending on what he's doing. As a civilian he wears a white tee shirt and a pair of dark cargo pants with the hilt of Oculus sticking up from the hilt of his boots. While working he exchanges the white tee for a dark blue one and wears his black button-down shirt to match his pants. With his duty uniform comes two torso holsters and his two pistols.
Personality: A very cheerful, albeit lusty fellow. He's usually the one out on the base smokepad joking with the guys and whistling at the ladies that pass by. Though recognized as a joker, he is still quite a respected leader among his own rank, always taking time and making the effort to assist his comrades. And a certain dedication shines through the silliness whenever he is hunting down an artifact, he never stops until he has what he's looking for.
History: Son to a Native American Marine and his West European, Tory had a cultured youth with his varied bloodline and constant moving about. This developed his two most important traits, his ability to deal with anyone with the utmost confidence and his almost inhuman cleverness.
He did well throughout his schooling and was often a leader among the sports groups. (Normally Football and Baseball.) This naturally caught the eyes of several colleges and other institutions such as the military. However, he refused them all in his pursuit of his true dreams, finding ancient artifacts from bygone years. That's right he had a severe case of Archeological Mania. Though it brought him great pleasure, it didn't do much in the way of preoducing funds or food, so he soon found himself searching for a 'day job.'
A few jobs here and there passed with him being fired for daydreaming about him true love, and once again he found himself in a bind. It was at this point the he was visited by an emisary of the mercenary group AEGIS. The egyptian man told him of the group and how he would be paid to find such artifacts as he had always wanted to find. Naturally as a hungry twenty-five year old he accepted eagerly.
He was sent through a brisk basic training to familiarize him with AEGIS's way and the handling of weapons and was nearly immediately sent on his first mission. This went on for several years, he left for the far reaches of the Earth and brought back priceless artifacts for the U.S. and other foreign nations. But after his four-year reenlistment, he would find that even the underwolrd had an underworld within it.
Up until that one mission he had never concerned himself with magic or the occult, but it would soon be shoved down his throat. Another routine trip to Egypt would have him retrieving a sacrificial dagger from deep withing an ancient tomb of a powerful priest. He went about his usual task of leading his team into the heart of the chamber that held the artifact when things went wrong. By nothing more than chance, he turned to see his comrade whip out his pistol and as Tory fled behind the large bier, kill the other eight people in the room. As he was shuffling away, the wrapping surrounding the sacrificial blade slipped off and his hand met the handle.
A pain shot up to his forehead and after a winced blink he would find that the previously dark room was much easier to see in. Whipping out his pistol he lurched from behind the bier and fired two shots. One to disarm his teammate, Ike Nichols, and another to knock the oil lamp that kept the room lit over. With his prize, Occulus, in hand he escaped and fled back to the extraction point only to find that his whole team save for one loyal companion had turned on him at Ike's command. He and his companion then faded into the shadows to gather information on the uprising.
After a month of seclusion, Tory and his companion, Stephen Elliot, both found that their families had been killed as Ike searched for them. But by then they both knew why. AEGIS was a remnant of an ancient cult that searched the globe for powerful magicl artifacts to assist them in slowly taking the world by storm in the names of their gods. The two of them, with nothing more to lose resolved to stand in their way at any cost.
Powers: None. His only special traits are granted by wielding Oculus.
Equipment:
~9mm- His usual choice for a handgun. He uses the military issue M9. He has made one modification, widening the magazine well to accommodate a thirty round fat clip.
~.44 Mag- His trusty revolver that he uses as a backup plan. When the 9mm isn't quite powerful enough this is his next step up in fire power. He usually carries a few quick-reload caps on him when he carries this.
~M1150- His favorite weapon to carry with him on his little treasure hunting expeditions. Due to the close quarters it usually makes, this powerful shotgun is perfect. It even has an optional grenage launcher that he carries for forest or jungle trips.
~Oculus- This is a small dagger that he found in an ancient Egytpian tomb. With it in his possesion and it out of its scabbard his sight and perceptions are augmented. This includes doubling his visual acuity, almost to that of a hawk. Also his ability to breakdown and analyze what he sees is greatly increased, which allows him to react at maximum speeds for a normal human of his physical shape.
Weakness: He's far from invincible, or even hard to kill. In fact, women still distract him even in the midst of a heated firefight, so anyone who would use Beauty could easily take down this Beast.
