Name: Devon
Age: Ancient, Died at the age of 27.
Gender: Male
Race: Vashar Lich
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Power Level: 6
Timeline: Medieval on. (Immortal)
Appearance: Devon is fairly tall, standing at 6'7" and he has fairly large muscles that one wouldn't expect on a magician. His skin is unnaturally pale but otherwise fairly normal looking, while both his hair and eyes are a deep dark brown that verge on being black. Devon generally tends to wear soft flexible leather when ever possible, almost always the leather fights snuggly against him and often he has a cloak and a thin mace on him.
Dangling around his right wrist is a thick silver bracelet covered in very small magical writings.
Personality: Devon is self-centered and greedy. He takes delight in pain, suffering, and torture. As a Vashar, the feelings of love, kindness, mercy, and other positive emotions are alien to him, though he understands that humans feel the emotions and is will to use them as leverage to get what he wants. He has absolutely no revulsion to acts humans would consider repulsive such as rape, gore, or maggots.
To him, human life is completely worthless unless they have something he desires--then it's completely worthless once he has the information he wanted.
History: Devon was born before our Earth's written history, he was born to an alternate universe where a demon had taken the ashes of the first Vashar and recreated the race that the gods had destroyed after their first attempt to make humans had failed. He was part of the first few generations and worked with other sorcerers on the bleeding edge of magical knowledge and power--he was among the first liches ever created among the Vashar.
After becoming a lich that harnessed demonic energy for his own benefit, the group of the first liches escaped the hell dimension by traveling down the caves protected by all sorts of creatures and tore a portal open connecting them to our world.
When they arrived in our world, many of them scattered far and wide, just as Devon did. Most everywhere he went, he brought misfortune and death. In his wake was untold curses and diseases running rampart, all for the sake of getting a magical artifact or piece of knowledge.
Powers: Hardened Flesh: As a lich, Devon's flesh is protected against attacks form all sorts, some types of magic and psionics and most physical attacks are all less effective against him. The only weapon known that doesn't seem to be hindered in effectiveness against him is a cold iron mace enhanced with magic. He's out right immune to polymorph effects, mind-affecting abilities, along with electricity and the cold. As an undead creature, he also has numerous other immunities shared with even the lowliest zombie.
Immortality: As a lich, not only is Devon immune to diseases and aging, but short of his phylactery being destroyed, he will come back despite any injuries inflicted on his body. Although, killing him does knock him out of the equation for a few days before he reforms.
Fear Aura: Devon is shrouded in an aura of evil, dread, and death, and unless he actively suppresses the energy the weakest of people are influenced magically induced fear.
Paralyzing Touch: Devon can channel necrotic energies into his touch to paralyze a person permanently, unless someone removes the curse on their body. Even if his touch fails to paralyze the person, it will still magically tear open wounds similar is scope to a longsword.
Magic: Devon possess an odd sort of magic, he doesn't use spells and the like to create magical effects, he simply taps into energy that empowers him to create the desired effect. This limits what all he can do with magic. His most used spells are listed.
Utterdark Blast: This blast channels the necrotic energies inside of him to inflict negative energy damage to whom ever he hits with, also the blast siphons off some of the life force of a living person. Against an undead creature though, it heals them. The amount of damage this blast does doesn't quite compare to a true wizard's attack, but he can keep firing blasts well after a wizard would have ran out of mana.
Darkness: This power creates magical darkness from either a point in space or around an object or creature negating all sources of light including magical. Even creatures able to normally see in the dark are unable to see through it, only demons can see through the darkness normally. Devon can see through the spell just fine due to some of his power.
Curse of Despair: This ability requires Devon to actually touch the person but the magic of the curse has a large number of effects it can cause often he uses it against people to reduce some aspect of their body or personality. Against a physical person, he'll normally use it to sap the person's strength, while a caster he'd sap their mental abilities often locking them out of their more powerful spells. He can also inflict diseases and other debilitating effects with this curse. Given enough time, he can curse a single person into a mere shadow of their previous self.
Devour Magic: Devon can touch magical items or spells and absorb the power within them to heal himself. Although, he can not use it to destroy instantaneous effects like attacks, he can use it to disrupt channeled spells or spells be casted while he's next to the caster.
Shadow Walk: Devon can teleport long distances but only through shadows, he can even choose to stay between the locations for a while to speed up the healing process significantly.
Shadow Illusions: Devon can create all kinds of illusionary tricks including creating shadow creatures. Unlike normal illusions that are completely fake, his are make from energy from the Plane of Shadows and are partly real.
Constant Magical Buffs: Devon has a number of magical effects weaved into his being that he has active at all times except for when he chooses to suppress the power. They include the ability to see the invisible, see in magical darkness, the ability to walk on walls, flight, the ability to sense everything happening near him, invisibility, and a minor foresight ability that heightens his reflexes and allows him to mentally communicate with people.
Temporary Magical Buffs: Devon can tap into the power inside him to see magical auras or quickly regenerate from harm.
Equipment: Zorm, the Cursespewer - This finely crafted light mace is covered in runes of all kinds and softly glows black when he has the head exposed. When ever he uses the mace and hits someone with it the weapon lets him channel his curses through it.
His bracelet - This thick silver bracelet is covered in runes of all kinds has no real effect on it's own. Though it works in conjunction with what ever weapon Devon is using, increasing the damage it does slightly and leaves part of the damage almost completely immune to being healed.
Weakness: Anti-undead magic is particularly effective against him. Although, he is resistant to turning effects.
Since he's evil, anti-evil magic is also effective against him.
The kind of magic he uses sacrifices sheer damage of most mages for the magical endurance and speed. Most of his powers are thought activated and easily used even when surrounded by people without being left open like most casters.
