Name: Mallory K. Krupp
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Power Level: Middle-tier Low (2)
Timeline: Near Future
Appearance: Eye-catching and enigmatic, Mallory was plagued by the nickname "Truffle" in private school. Reason being to her hair and eye color are identical shades of cocoa brown, and also because of her so-called "sweet body." The teasing of boys and girls alike annoyed the Krupp heiress to no end, but nothing as petty as sexual harassment could have ever dispelled her admittedly ironic love affair with the chocolate confections of the same name. And by secret virtue of the same genetic engineering that tailored her beauty, her metabolism is such that she can indulge in chocolates and other favorite sweets as much as she likes without ever gaining a single pound. A blessing for helping to maintain her womanly figure and as well as a soldier's fitness level.
Though technically a member of the German "Home Guard" Militia, Mallory is nonetheless an army captain by special commission and so dresses appropriately. Albeit within her own liberal interpretation of uniform regulation, which she is afforded by a dress code waiver. Finding the standard issue officer's jacket to be much too "confining" she had another one specially made to accommodate the ample size of her bust. She also refuses the notion that the hair of a female officer must not extend past her collar, insisting she spends far too much time brushing and combing her lustrous locks to risk having them tangled in a bun or braid.
Personality: Mallory is strong willed to say the least, and holds true to her own personal philosophy that no kind of protocol can ever replace common sense. There is a willingness on her part to follow the rules, more or less, just so long as they don't go against her better judgment. She is a very confident, and competitively aggressive tomboy who has a fondness for classical music and kickboxing, and is happiest when she can enjoy both at the same time. The last man foolish enough to fight her without padding received two cracked ribs to the tune of the Beethoven's "Ode To Joy". Violins and violence are Mallory's bread and butter, and she possesses surprising aptitude for all manner of electronics as well.
Mistakes and failures are not easy for a girl as headstrong as Mallory to admit to, but she makes no apologies. Least of all for her looks, her intelligence, or the fact she's held on to the same teddy bear since she was a little girl. Pride is certainly the sin she is most guilt of. Even within her own chain of command, Captain Krupp is a young woman who will go to great lengths to prove someone wrong. Indeed, she can be very temperamental at times, but that doesn't mean she is any less of a skilled mecha pilot or effective leader. Some might still describe her as an arrogant brat, though they would never say so to her face.
History: Mallory is a member of a generation of made-to-order children. Though the early methods of Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) had first been developed to screen for hereditary diseases near the turn of the 21st century, The People's Republic of China would later alter and refine the process to create a government-run eugenics program, mandated by Paramount Leader Yan Zhen Rui in 2061. The program was implemented with the long term goal of eliminating genetic disorders from the population. It was a controversial policy that garnered intense international criticism of the still largely communist government. Ironically, the practice of creating so-called "designer babies" would soon became available to wealthy parents looking to customize their child's appearance as well as weeding out potentially fatal dispositions towards genetic defects.
Though hotly debated in the United States, many European nations began to reluctantly endorse the idea. However, bioethicists and lawmakers in Germany were wary of the unsavory association between new age eugenics and the historic scientific abuses of the Nazis, and so remained staunchly apposed to tailoring the genes children. Much like human cloning and stem cell research, aesthetic genetics became a taboo science in Germany backed by federal law. Despite being made a felony within it's own borders, there was nothing to penalize couples with the wealth and determination to solicit the services of clinics abroad. As they inevitably did.
In this regard, Iraq had already emerged as the world's preeminent destination for "medical tourism" in the consolidating years after the end of the Second Gulf War. In that time, Saddam Hussein's former dictatorship had experienced a social and economic boom. Having been vaulted into the 21st century by foreign investors, the country's heath care system was rapidly (if a bit haphazardly) redeveloped. It became favored by international travelers seeking a myriad of medical procedures and drugs for as little as one tenth of the average cost in their homelands. All the modern technology and almost none of the regulatory oversight.
Mallory's father, Alphonse Etzel Krupp, first traveled to Baghdad with his wife, Elissa, to find alternative treatments for the cancer she had battled for the better part of their marriage. Despite the best efforts of numerous doctors, Elissa's prognosis continued to deteriorate. There was no telling how long she would have to live, but both spouses were stedfast in their love for one another and acknowledged that certain steps had to be taken to ensure the continuation of the Krupp family line, and the continuity of their centuries-old dynasty.
The ill-fated couple's child-to-be would come about by way of artificial insemination and extensive genetic rewrite to correct for hereditary disorders, as well as measures to enhance beauty, intelligence, and athleticism. All modifying procedures would be performed to a far greater extent than previously thought possible, paid for with absorbent sums of the Krupp family fortune. The money bought thoroughness and scientific excellence from the Iraqi doctors, but when Alphonse set a new goal for their "project" his money also ensured their cooperation and strict silence. The doctors reluctantly consented to the tycoon's increasingly bizarre demands, and began the outlined procedures with an air of potentially deadly uncertainty. The implications of their work could lead to life in prison if discovered by the public. Assuming they weren't first assassinated by Muslim extremists.
Ellissa slipped into a coma shortly before being implanted with her daughter's embryo. It was a serious gamble, one that had been strongly discouraged by her doctors, saying it was doubtful the ailing mother would live long enough to carry her pregnancy to fruition. Nonetheless, Alphonse had sternly insisted on fulfilling his wife's final wishes. Nine months later, Elissa had endured long enough to give birth on her deathbed.
Mallory Katarina Krupp was born by c-section at 9:37 PM on a balmy Friday evening in Baghdad; August 19, 2096.
She was the world's first human clone.
Elissa Krupp finally passed away barely a week later. Her remains were cremated and the ashes were scattered in the Persian Gulf by her bereaved husband. Their daughter's true nature remained a secret. Despite the incredible risks of her creation, Alphonse's will had been far more committed to preserving his wife's memory over his own lineage. As per his instruction, Mallory's manufactured DNA was 99.2% identical to her late mother and she had been conceived with absolutely none of her faux father's genetic martial.
This modern day Eve would grow up in the lap of luxury at her father's estate in Essen, attended to by her own tutors and servants, as well as a private pediatrician trusted to remain silent about Mallory's unique pedigree. Her father would never remarry, leaving Mallory as the sole heiress to an industrial empire.
Since the height of Napoleon Bonaparte's reign as Emperor of France during the early 19th century, the Krupp family business had been Germany's foremost producer of raw steel, heavy manufacturing equipment, and later became a prolific supplier of ammunition and armaments for several prominent European militaries. Naturally, the German army was chief among them. It's soldiers were almost exclusively equipped with Krupp weapons and munitions throughout both world wars.
With the fall of Third Reich and the onset of the cold war, both the Krupp family and their company were in a state of decline. With the German military virtually castrated, Krupp was forced to find commercial applications for it's steel goods, and to compete in markets already dominated by much more established firms for half a century until the collapse of the Soviet Union and the reunification of East and West Germany. In the following decades Krupp rose from the ashes to resume it's role as the largest industrial company in Europe, forging steel for both war and peace.
Krupp was instrumental in the development of the world's first examples of war mechs. Walking tanks who's origins began with the invention of humanoid construction rigs, first introduced in Japan. Plans by other countries to develop them military applications soon followed, and Germany won the ensuing arms race. The rudimentary core designs and the metallurgical formulas required to forge them all disseminated from the Krupp company R&D laboratories in the Ruhr Valley, the ancestral heart of German industrial might for over four hundred years.
This was the setting for Mallory's childhood. Days spent with her stern but loving father on tours of assembly lines, clutching his hand as she stared up at the metal skeletons of half-finished titans in curious wonder.
"Mallory," her father had said to her. "I want you to pay attention to what goes on here. Learn everything that you can. Because one day, all of this will be yours."
And so she did. The girl became the beautiful prodigy she had been bred to be, as apt in robotic engineering as world economics. Egotistical perhaps, but certainly capable of living up to her family's legacy when the time came. And it would come sooner than expected.
The winds of war would herald Mallory's inheritance...
Powers: Trained to physical and mental peak with the help of her unique genetic makeup. Olympic-level athleticism. Genious-level intelligence.
Trained in army CQB (Close Quarters Combat) techniques as well as kick boxing.
Computer and robotics expert.
Ace mecha pilot and novice confectioner.
Equipment: 9mm sidearm, combat knife, and survival gear. (While wearing pilot's suit.)
Weakness: Proud to a fault. Easily taunted and quick to anger when embarrassed, putting her at risk for making hasty and dangerous moves. And although she may heal a little faster than the average human, she's still flesh and blood.

Hey everyone! It's Ross again! (^^)
This CS has taken me almost a year to complete. Can you believe it? Boot camp was a big reason. But here she is at last. My first mecha pilot! And to sweeten the deal, here's young Mallory as she appeared in her high school days. Hope you liked her profile!
