Name: Maxwell Fueller
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Lawful Good
Power Level: Mid-tier Medium (5)
Timeline: Medieval
Appearance: Brown hair, blue eyes, of respectable height and good muscle tone, typically wearing full plate for combat wear or a short, fire-embroidered dinner jacket and embroidered pants for formal wear.
Guardian Armor:
Shinobi:
His Favorite Toy:
Maxwell on the Attack:
Personality: Light and easygoing, he doesn't let much get to him. He's content to entertain himself, or talk to others. An ideal trail mate, he can carry his own weight both on the road and on the battlefield, though he boasts on neither.
History: Guardians are masters of dragons and protectors of the weak, and Maxwell is no different. Trained in the use of the Sword, as well as in minor magecraft, he is a feared opponent, and a strong ally. He was raised in Battleon, and became a great warrior, participating in quests and tournaments, alike. He is not the most powerful of all the Guardians, but he is still a strong hand in any conflict. He has a constant craving for new sights and adventures, and always finds himself travelling, lending a hand in whatever way he can.
His sole companion on these travels, with the exception of when he quests with a group, is a red dragon hatchling, appropriately named, Sparky, for his tendancy to belch small, quick bursts of flame. Not a full, deadly spray, as his father might have done, but enough to ward off any thief that might come to steal from his master's sleeping side.
Powers: Maxwell possesses many skills and spells he has trained to gain, while others he gains through the use of one of his varying pieces of equipment. Those that follow in this section are his own and can be used with any equipment.
Equipment:
Weakness: His weaknesses vary depending on the equipment he wears. Without any of them, he is vulnerable to anything a normal human would be weak to. While wearing his Fire Guardian Armor, cold temperatures and ice-based attacks can make him weaker while also dealing extra damage as they sap the warmth accumulated by the armor. The Shinobi Shozoku has no special defense against light magic, and takes a small amount of extra damage, while also providing less physical defense against direct attacks. The Big Red Button is perhaps his most dangerous to wear, as overuse of the drone unit can lead to extensive physical damage or even death. In addition to the weaknesses of his armors, if he is using the Ethos Shield, melee attacks are harder for him to block as opposed to using the Dimensional Barrier.

Spells:
Maxwell’s two strongest elements are Light and Fire, with emphasis on the latter, and his selection of spells reflect this. While he has a wide variety at his disposal, his Light and Fire spells, Star Forge and Fireball Z respectively, are significantly more powerful than the others, and unless he requires another for a type or strategic advantage, he will use one of those two.
Ice Dragon Spirit: Summons the spirit of an ancient ice dragon. For the short duration its form lasts, its icy claws and watery maw can maul even the largest of adversaries.
Sonic Boom: Maxwell releases a powerful burst of wind with him as the epicenter, knocking everything around him back or sending it flying. This spell can also be used to give him a burst of speed.
Boulderdash: A potent Earth spell that drops two large boulders onto the opponent. Maxwell holds both arms up into the air and directs them down at his opponent.
Dark Lightning: Maxwell holds his sword to the sky and piercing bolts of lightning shoot down from the sky, backed with dark energy.
Star Forge: A powerful light-based attack where he focuses his magic into causing a magical star into being to strike the foe with its light.
Fireball Z: An enhanced Fireball spell, Maxwell raises one hand and releases a barrage of them at a rapid-fire rate.
Guardian Dragon: As a Guardian of Battleon, Maxwell can summon the aid of the mighty Guardian Dragon to strafe his foes with nonelemental fire that deals direct damage regardless of defenses. He can also use this to temporarily transform Sparky into a full adult red fire dragon.
Skills:
Leap Attack: Maxwell leaps up into the air and brings his force to bear against an opponent in a potent cleaving strike.
Double Strike: Maxwell lunges forward with his sword like a lance to pierce an enemy's defense, then follows it up with an upward slash.
Boomerang Throw: Taking careful aim, Maxwell can send his sword spinning across the battlefield, attacking at a range before it flies back to his hand.
Fire Strike: By charging his weapon with his elemental attribute, he can increase the damage of an attack from the burning magic.

Weapons:
An avid weapons collector, Maxwell has gathered a wide variety of them, each one affording him different attack capabilities. These abilities are unique to each weapon, and cannot be used with any other, as they are a result of the weapon’s construction and magical properties.
Blade of Awe: Maxwell's primary weapon, it is a mystical sword of great power that he assembled from its scattered, fragmented pieces across the continent, sacrificing his own sword to give it form. A sword of legend, this bastard sword's strength is incredible, and it has many special abilities the Guardian is not otherwise capable of performing.Vampiric Flame: Red fire leaps up to sear an opponent, sapping its life and transferring it to Maxwell.
Magical Flame: Like the Vampiric Flame, except the fire is blue and saps an opponent's magical energies.
Pulsing Burst: Maxwell raises his sword to point toward an enemy and fires a beam of light energy from the blade after charging for a moment.
Soul Strike: The sword's most devastating ability, Maxwell can strike at the very soul of his enemy to slay it instantly. An immensely dangerous and powerful move, he must score a direct hit or it fails.
Drakel Tube: Maxwell's secondary weapon, this is a magical artillery weapon. Small enough for portability, it works like a rocket launcher, firing blasts of fire that explode on impact.
Kayda Blade: This super-sharp blade made of rare darkstone has been given extra power by inlaying a Kayda Gem. This makes it a potent Electric weapon.Lightning Blitz: This technique releases charged energy from the Kayda Gem, firing off a massive volley of lightning. While each individual bolt is comparatively weak, they come fast and they come in swarms, making it a difficult attack to avoid, and particularly potent when they start racking up the hits.
Patriot Blade: A potent Fire short sword with a curved front like a scimitar and a notched back for locking weapons in combat. It is awarded to loyal patriots for service to Battleon. While honorary in nature, it is still a formidable weapon.Sparkle Blast: This technique shoots a particularly powerful explosive ball of fire from the ruby in the hilt of the weapon, which detonates on impact.
Golden Summoner: With no discernable mechanism and possessing only a hilt, when Maxwell found this sword, it did have a blade – a rusty, useless crust of iron that promptly broke off. However, when in his hands and in combat, it leaps to life, projecting a powerful blade consisting entirely of light energy.Summon Sunrays: Not to be confused with sunlight, sunrays are creatures made entirely of light energy and travel through the air like manta rays travel through water. This technique summons a small school of the beings to swarm and attack.
Razor Fan: A weapon designed for ninjas, this fan, while possessing a short range for melee use, boasts razor-sharp edges and an aerodynamic design, and functions at its best as a ranged weapon. Charged with the dark jutsu energies of the ninja, this weapon is the one of choice when donning that particular role.Triple Boomerang Throw: More aerodynamic and controllable than a bulky bastard sword, Maxwell can use the Razor Fan for an improved version of his Boomerang Throw technique. With it, he can strike one target three times, one target once and another twice, or three targets one time each.
Custom Weapon: A personal project of Maxwell, this is a sword made entirely of interchangeable parts of varying style and use. While it doesn’t see regular use due to still being in development, it is presently a formidable bastard sword fueled by water magic from the sapphire artifact in its hilt.Water Blast: Much like the Patriot Blade, the sword is capable of releasing its charged energies in a blast of watery magic.
Armors:
Realizing that despite its many benefits, the glaring weaknesses of Maxwell’s Fire Guardian Armor could hinder more than help him in many situations, he has gathered a variety of armors and outfits, each with their own unique properties.
Fire Guardian Armor: His standard full plate, it is formed from very strong steel, made even stronger from the magic that runs through it. When exposed to heat or any source of fire element, it absorbs the heat and transfers it proportionally into power and health. The more fire Maxwell absorbs with this armor, the stronger and faster he becomes. Even walking through the hottest desert would be like taking a stroll in a far more pleasant climate. This comes with a weakness, as well, as he is more vulnerable to intense cold, and it can actually drain the boosts he has already received.
Formal Wear: While lacking the defense and absorption abilities of his full plate armor, it does have the defense of fine, light chain mail, and the magic that runs through it still prevents damage from heat and fire, without the cost of a weakness to the cold. Of primarily a black, velvet-like material with red and orange fire embroidery, this is akin to a formal dinner uniform for a Guardian, and is always kept clean and presentable. If Maxwell must wear a weapon, either ornamentally or in expectation of combat, he will choose a small, decorative weapon, such as the Golden Summoner, to avoid a bulky, unbalanced appearance.
Shinobi Shozoku: A traditional ninja outfit, this dark, concealing cloth-and-leather armor provides an impressive amount of mobility, allowing Maxwell to move far more quickly and quietly than normal, making him more evasive, and the Ninjitsu Seals he has gathered, magical artifacts that bestow the skills and knowledge of the ancient Ninja, have granted it significant protection from darkness. It is in this suit that Maxwell most often makes use of the Ninjitsu techniques he has learned from the Seals, including summoning and throwing multiple ninja stars, calling upon two legendary katanas, a mystical freezing technique, and the ultimate attack unlocked by the Ninth Seal. While he can use these at any time, most other armors are too restrictive to do the techniques with any degree of speed or efficiency in comparison.
Big Red Button: An experimental armor Maxwell agreed to field test for a rather ... eccentric technomage, its appearance as a plain, grey suit of plate armor with a large, unmarked button on the upper left area of the chest hides its true inner workings. Actually an advanced mechanical power suit, it uses the neural impulses in the wearer’s body to direct and power a floating drone. The energy the drone gathers from the suit can be used for powerful electricity-based blasts and is activated by pressing the button on the suit. However, due to the method by which that energy is gathered, it actually saps some of the life of the user. This dangerous characteristic of at least this beta suit ensures it rarely sees the light of day outside Maxwell’s closet.
Shields:
Maxwell possesses two things that could be considered shields, though neither so in the conventional sense.
Dimensional Barrier: His left gauntlet is actually a magical item that forms a localized disturbance between the planes to block as if wielding an unbreakable and near-impenetrable Medium Shield without the added weight or mass. Of course, because there is nothing truly there, he cannot use it offensively as one may often use a shield, such as bashing and the like.
Ethos Shield: Through training and dedication, a Guardian is able to form a small shield, like a buckler, from their faith alone in times of emergencies. This yellow disk has surprisingly good protection against ranged attacks, as the user only has to move their arm into its path, but lacks the defense in close combat of a larger shield.
