Name: X
Age: N/A
Gender: Male
Race: Android
Alignment: Lawful Good
Power Level: Very high end of Mid-tier High (8), capable of breaching High-tier High (9)
Timeline: Modern/Futuristic
Appearance:
Personality: In casual situations, X is curious and open to new discoveries, though because he hasn't been socially exposed, he can be somewhat gullible. He catches on quick, however, so this rarely lasts for long. In combat, he sets his eyes on his goal and doesn't relent until whatever his cause for fighting is secure. He makes every effort, however, not to cause unnecessary harm to those weaker than him and avoids killing whenever possible.
History: When the Edenites came for the heroes of Earth the first time, many fell and scraps of the alien Purifiers were left all over some of the larger battlefields, a testament to the numbers required to overpower those they had underestimated. Much were far too scrapped to salvage, but through sheer volume, the American military found enough intact technology to reverse engineer a single unit. They suspected, however, that the units sent to capture and overwhelm the metahumans were mere mass-produced grunts, and so they set their best minds to improving the one they had so that he would be capable of facing the foes they expected he would have to.
By engineering a reverse feed loop into the arm cannon, they gave him a charge feature to allow him to fire far more powerful shots of plasma, and by implanting data samplers in his hands, they made it capable of emulating any weapon he touched. Unfortunately, the weapon system was incomplete when Eden struck again. The massive energy levels flowing through it were too much for any fuses they could build to handle, and when he was forced to use it against the attacking Class S Purifier, Master Zero, he fried his entire attack arm in the process. It took a fuse system from the hyper-advanced technologies of the reclusive supervillain Spectral, who entered the conflict half out of boredom, to handle the Buster's immense power output. With the weapon finally fully functional, X was able to take an open shot in the final battle and take out Master Zero's partner, Quicksilver, with a single blast.
X's role in the coming battles has yet to be decided. Quicksilver had wished him returned to Eden to be reprogrammed as a Class S Purifier, himself, and in tribute to her, Master Zero seems to intend the same, choosing to blame the humans who "tampered" with X rather than the android, himself. Whether they will succeed shall be seen.
Powers:
Superhuman Strength - As a super-android, X has physical strength highly disproportionate to his form, though less so than the mighty Master Zero. This stat increases, however, if he absorbs combat data from a physically powerful enemy.
Superhuman Endurance - As an artificial entity, X has the capability to go further longer with less rest than an organic lifeform, as well as shrug off blows that would shatter the bones of lesser entities, though his alloys aren't as dense, and thus aren't as tough, as Master Zero's Class S body armor. All aspects of X's endurance increase when he absorbs combat data from a physically tough enemy.
Superhuman Speed - Though not as great as the speed of Master Zero, and certainly not to the level of Quicksilver, X possesses speed far greater than the average person, able to dash and respond at speeds physically and mentally impossible for all but some of the most powerful humans. His speed increases accordingly when he absorbs combat data from a fast opponent.
Copy Ability - X's data samplers can gather both organic and mechanical data at a touch. Just a few moments is enough time to duplicate basic weapon systems and combat abilities and the longer he maintains the grip, the more he copies. If he has abilities from different sources, he can switch between which one he focuses on or use multiple sources at once. Doing the latter means, however, that certain abilities are canceled out. For instance, if he copies a strong but tough enemy and a fast but squishy enemy, he'll be strong and fast, but because the toughness of the two oppose each other, they cancel each other out and he keeps his normal defense.
Equipment:
Charge Buster Cannon - The Buster Cannon is the standard weapon of nearly every low-end Purifier Unit. It gathers ions from the surrounding air and strips them, creating plasma that it then fires as a projectile. While a Purifier's Buster Cannon can switch between plasma fire and a nonlethal stun mode that disrupts a target's nervous system and renders them unconscious, this ability was not maintained in the reverse-engineering of X's cannon.
Unlike any Buster Cannon on a low-end Purifier, X's cannon is capable of charging to incredibly high levels and releasing a single, extremely powerful shot. When used in conjunction with his copy ability, he can even execute supercharged versions of the attacks of others.
Weakness: An unwillingness to kill and a self-sacrificing approach to allies are definite weaknesses in the heat of battle against a ruthless foe. Also, if he has no combat data copied, he has nothing but his buster cannon to draw on for combat, as well as his own basic physical attributes.
