Name: Shawn Rae
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Power Level: High-tier Medium (6) (as Summoner)
Timeline: Modern
Appearance:
Personality: Shawn's personality is double-sided, and which side one sees depends on the circumstances of the encounter. Whenever on Rocket business, he is harsh and unforgiving, cruel and without mercy. When met when he is not required to behave in such a manner, he is kind, merciful and benevolent, doing what he can for others, perhaps to make up for his time as a Rocket.
History: Shawn is from a normal dimension, a dimension that greatly resembles the real world. He was also a gamer, and favored the Pokemon Game Boy games. When he was 15, however, his world came crashing down.
Team Rocket, in the Pokemon Dimension, discovered that a certain pokemon, Porygon2, could travel between dimensions. They used that ability to invade Shawn's dimension. Having nothing to defend against a pokemon onslaught, the world as they knew it was wiped off the face of the planet, to be replaced practically overnight with The World As It Should Be According To Giovanni. The United States was the greatest military nation on the planet, and all it took were 4 Gyarados to destroy it.
There were revolts, people resisting to his rule. Shawn's mother attended one of those rallies, but Giovanni destroyed every last one of them.
At the time, Shawn was growing skilled as a Pokemon Trainer. Giovanni saw this, and, after he discovered that Shawn's mother had died in the rally, he adopted Shawn.
It was more for political, and, Giovanni had no doubt hoped, future militarial, effect, and did little more for Shawn than make people more afraid of him. Shawn started out as a Pokemon Breeder because of his knowledge of both Pokemon and his world's ecology. As he grew into a stronger trainer, however, Giovanni personally promoted him to a Rocket Executive, and for a long time, he was the best, second only to Agent 009, Domino.
Shawn was only acting, however, buying time until he was strong enough to kill Giovanni, himself. Outside, he played the part of a Rocket Executive, but inside, he held a hatred for Giovanni that was almost inhuman.
Then the time came. A year after it all started, the Porygon2 escaped by creating a portal before it could be put to sleep. Shawn got sucked through when he accidentally got too close, and landed in the Pokemon Dimension. Soon after, he began his quest to find Ash and get his help to save his dimension, detailed in The Pokemon Master's Return.
Powers: None of his own, only what he commands through his Pokemon.
Equipment: None normally, a standard whip when in uniform.
Weakness: He's just a normal human, and without his pokemon, has little defense against other medium-powered characters, and is, in fact, only a Mid-tier Low (2).
POKEMON
Nidoking
Nidoking, not Blastoise, which is a common misconception, was Shawn's first pokemon. He is Shawn's stalwart and unshakable companion, with total faith in Shawn's ability, and has the closest bond with him of all of his pokemon. He is also the only one known to actually break out of his pokeball to come to his aid when Shawn's life is in danger. His most famous weapons on his body are his poisonous horn and powerful tail, and his secret technique, developed between himself and Shawn, leaves a roasted enemy seeing triple.
Blastoise
Blastoise is both wall and artillery for Shawn's team. His heavy build and carapace may leave his footsteps slow and ponderous, but each of the double cannons packed in his shell are capable of punching a hole through a foot of steel, and can fire a variety of blasts of different elements, holding true to his reputation as the original siege engine.
Machamp
Machamp is the martial powerhouse in Shawn's team. He loves getting to fight and puts his whole heart (and all six limbs) into it. He favors individual, powerful strikes over flurries, but when necessary, he goes all-out with Agility and just pummels the heck out of whatever is in front of him. He usually combines this with an elemental punch to take advantage of a foe's weakness repeatedly in a short amount of time, whereas when he's doing single strikes, he usually avoids specific elements.
Alakazam
With his IQ of over 3,000, Alakazam is the thinker of the group. He prefers to plan engagements, even on sudden battles and will analyze the battlefield and his opponent before acting. With his genius, this usually only takes a moment or two when he first emerges. To Alakazam, knowledge is power, and while he isn't adverse to just smothering his opponent in an overwhelming surge of psychic energy and being done with it, he often prefers to utilize a combination of techniques to track their actions and respond before they have actually released it. One of his favorite things to do is use Miracle Eye to observe his enemy while focusing his mind with Calm Mind. He then continues his meditation seemingly ignoring his enemy, then simply teleports out of harm's way to another part of the battlefield when the opponent tries to strike.
Pidgeot
Don't let the commonness of his line fool you; Pidgeot is one tough bird. With his powerful wings, he'll brave even the most powerful storm and makes quick and powerful aerial strikes and bombing runs, often swooping down just to be gone again before his adversary knows what hit him. He is also Shawn's most common method of transport, and is familiar with flying into heavy combat areas. Most commonly, he'll drop Shawn off on the fly, and then circle back around to rejoin him.
Scyther
Scyther is the newest addition, relatively speaking, to Shawn's party, and is the only one to have Rocket training prior to joining his team. Received from Team Rocket Command to replace his Flareon, which he gifted to his girlfriend, Scyther is the most uncontrollable member of his party, both because they don't have the same long-standing camaraderie as Shawn does with the rest of his team, and because Scyther's previous training as a vicious member of Team Rocket often clashes with Shawn's desire outside of work to find more peaceful solutions to problems. Scyther delights in putting fear into others and will taunt them even if they aren't actual opponents. He also finishes any fight he starts, often regardless of Shawn's orders to pull back, and will Pursue a fleeing enemy to strike them in the back.
