Name: Sir Valdimar Erikksonn (aka "the Black Dragon of Darnathir")
Race: Human
Age: 25
Gender: male
Eyes: A hard brown
Skin: Lightly tanned
Power level: Low-tier Medium
Timeline: Medieval
Appearance: Tall and muscular, Valdimar stands a clear head above the average person. His burgundy hair is short in the front with a small ponytail in the back, and he is clean-shaven except for his neatly trimmed moustache. Normally clad in black iron plate mail with a golden, twin-headed gryphon, the crest of his House, emblazoned upon his breastplate and two spiked metal gauntlets. He wears a golden bandana, angled over his right eye to cover a nasty wound/scar he never talks about. When in battle he dons a plain, golden colored roquelaire.
Personality: Brutally honest to the point of sounding harsh, Valdimar is known for being a man who (almost) never lies, a man who will keep his word, even if it means his own death. He's also a merciless warrior who does not believe in a "fair fight" and will do whatever it takes to win a fight. Like he always says, "If fights were meant to be fair, there wouldn't be a loser." His thinking is quite down to earth and his logic simple, but he's notoriously near-sighted and he loses sight of the bigger picture more often than is healthy.
Weapons: His dregan* is tainted a blue color around the edge of its blade and is ornamented on the pommel with a sparkling clear diamond and capable of sending cutting bursts of vacuum air toward his opponents. It is kept in a plain iron scabbard at his left side. On his right, three steel returning disks are fastened to his belt, each about the size of a CD.
Powers/Abilities: He knows one spell, the arcane spell "Knock". Besides that, he knows a couple small magic tricks, his favorite being discolored illusions of small objects, the discoloration coming form his lack of magical experience. He possesses a natural warrior instinct that guides him during battle and during other survival situations.
Bio: His family, House Erikksonn of Loun, have always been the most loyal of all the Kingdom of Darnathir's many provinces, and have always produced the finest soldiers and imperial guards in all the land, so it was only natural that "Little Al" was taught to wield a sword the minute he could hold a rattle. He practiced every day with the wooden ones as a toddler, and at the age of three was quite jokingly appointed the "personal bodyguard" of his cousin, the newborn Prince Igashu. He continued to practice for hours every day, to one day truly earn his position.
The two grew up being the best of friends, always holding "friendly" competitions over just about anything that could be competed over: eating, running, the Artsand later, swordplay and women (though not exactly in that particular order.
He quickly became the realm's most famous knight, whose sword arm "seemed to be guided by the Heavens", rather than conscious thought. Indeed, his skill and strength, as well as his seemingly impenetrable armor garnered him the nickname "the Black Dragon of Darnathir". He officially became, at the age of 15, Igashu's personal bodyguard.
Five years later, he snuck out of the palace to pose with his friend and master as a soldier for hire. He was on the same mission with Nevina that found the Dimensional Cube. Unfortunately, he was outside its range when it was activated, and was left behind. When he came over to the spot where his Prince had disappeared, he found the Dimensional Tracking Orb**, and has pledged himself to finding Igashu, or die trying.
*A "Dregan" is a 4 ft sword (3.5' blade, 6" hilt) similar to a saber in style, minus a guard for the hand. It is extremely weighty as its blade is doubly as thick, both in terms of the thickness of the metal and the width of the blade. It's slightly curved to the tip, much like a saber. It carries a great deal of its weight towards the end of the blade, making it rather unwieldy weapon in untrained hands. Not a very practical weapon for stabbing, but due to its weighted end it serves exceptionally well as a weapon with which to cleave opponents in half.
Its most deadly feature is the small lever on the hilt that, when pressed, extends an extra 1ft. section of the blade from the "normal" tip like a spring-action dagger-in-the-box
It's only given to elite guard and certain distinguished generals of the field. As such, it is a status symbol that grants the bearer unquestioned respect throughout the realm
** The Dimensional Tracking Orb is a 1.5" diameter glass sphere that automatically tracks the location of the Dimensional Cube anywhere in the multiverse by glowing a certain color corresponding to the plane the Cube is in. If the possessor so wishes, he may use the Orb to teleportbut only to the planes the holders of the Cube had been to, and only in the exact order as they. This ability can only be used once every two weeks, the least amount of time needed for the Orb to recharge its power. (Oddly enough, the Dimensional Cube can be used to automatically teleport to the location of the orb. Unfortunately, the Cube holder must understand how. )
