Name: No name, filed under Unit 592
Age: Unknown, looks about 14
Gender: Female
Race: Human, most likely.
Alignment: True Neutral
Power Level: Low-tier High (7) if full powers happen to go off, but this isn't reliable.
Timeline: Modern/Near Future
Appearance: Every facet of her appearance has been surgically altered and her stone's radiation has altered her body's structure at the molecular level. It would be nearly impossible to link her to any identity she might have once had. She looks absolutely identical to countless other girls in the program right down to the pageboy cut of her green hair (though the color among the girls varies, also coming in blue and pink, and there seems no particular reason the unnatural colors are given) and her inexpressive dull blue eyes. Her outfit varies depending on what is put on her. While she was in the complex, she wore a hospital gown like all the others. Now, she's usually dressed in whatever's handy, though this usually results in some poor fits, like shirts a bit too big, etcetera. The glowing, green stone, a cylindrical crystal, always hangs from a chain around her neck.
Personality: More often than not, she doesn't seem to have one. Like the other girls, she seems to have been pretty much mind-wiped, and is only minorly responsive, particularly if she is left in seclusion for any significant length of time. The more time she spends uninterrupted around others trying to associate with her, the more she comes out of that "shell" and begins to respond. The more this progresses, the more a personality comes out that seems to be cheerful, innocent, a great deal naive, and always caring. A short time in solitude, however, even a few hours, can cause her to clam up again. Certain stimuli can cause sudden instances of lucidity where she seems to recall things from her past, but afterwards, if asked to pin them down, she lacks the ability to do so.
History: Girls from the once large and bustling city were brought in droves to the government laboratory after the city was destroyed during the civil war. The people behind the project treated them as a disposable commodity, one that the dead city offered plenty of.
The goal of this project was to create a biological superweapon. It had been successful once, and the goal of this project was to duplicate that success. They never truly did so.
One test subject came into the laboratory's grasp a bit differently. An intruder got into the complex unexpectedly. Or so the lab assumed. What it was actually doing there was unknown to them. In truth, it was one of the tourists who had wandered away from the main group and ended up in the wrong section at the wrong time.
The tourist was pronounced missing, and later, reports were given that its body was found on the river bank half a mile off. The story was that it had probably fallen in during one of the many unfortunate accidents tourists have every year. The body was so ravaged by animals and the elements that it was unidentifiable by all but dental records. The funeral was close-casket.
In truth, the tourist didn't fall over, didn't go missing, and didn't die. It was kept by the laboratory and put into the program. Due to its different origins, it didn't respond to the treatment in the same way, and remained more active than others who became almost comatose with their "fascination" in their stones.
The stones. The core of the project. These unnatural energy sources were actually radioactive, but not after a manner which resembled anything on Earth. They entranced the unprotected mind and gradually altered the unshielded body. Then, after a certain point in the alteration had been reached, if a chemical was introduced into the system, the result should be the superweapon. Unfortunately, the result was instead a 100% fatality rate.
But back to the former tourist. Because of its higher activity level, the lab had to find other things for it to do, usually basic cleaning duties like mopping or folding laundry, whatever was needed to keep it occupied without it getting in the way. It went about these tasks without complaint, in an almost mindless fashion, simply being directed and going about the task.
It was out mopping the floor one day when the lab had a visitor. She was safely out of sight, mopping another section of the complex, but they hadn't counted on her coming back because a dog that had escaped from animal testing ran through and knocked her bucket over. So, emotionally unresponsive at the sight, or even at having the water drench the floor, she simply picked the bucket up and proceeded back to the doctors to have it refilled.
The resulting meeting was what the scientists would later deem disastrous. The visitor hadn't had clearance for the top-secret project, and the presentation of the girl in her brainwashed state gave the visitor too much information. The visitor was also far too high in authority to simply make it disappear like they had done to the tourist.
The scientists were able to cover for the rest of their experiments, but at the cost of the one girl, Unit 592, and several citations that took a great deal of finances and political redirection to get rid of. Now, Unit 592 is out and about. She drifts in and out of foster care, mostly because she drifts in and out of houses. Her mindless state isn't very conductive to staying put unless someone is there to monitor her, and when found, she is sent to a new foster care unit, only to wander off and disappear again.
Powers: Spontaneous energy generation. Also seems to have some unconscious control over simple technology (toasters, televisions, telephones, refridgerators, basic household appliances. Nothing super-complex, like an entire car, though the radio could be affected.)
Weapons: None, unless you count the stone, which really isn't a weapon.
Weakness: Very physically fragile, very easy to direct and manipulate. Her unnatural obedience means she'll do almost anything she's told by almost anyone.
