Name: Brandon Brent Banks
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Good, Chaotic Neutral
Power Level: Low-Tier Medium
Timeline: Modern (originates from alternate universe of same timeline)
Appearance: A mildly skinny 6'2 young man of very pale complexion. Has grayish-black hair and beady brown eyes. Often wears a casual T-shirt and a pair of jeans and sneakers.
Personality: Usually very shy and mellow. Appears calm and depressed at the same time. To strangers he is seen as a suspicious person who is not to be trusted, as if he were hiding some kind of weapon or plotting to do harm. Can get into rather dangerous fits of rage to his being bipolar, but this is occasional. Is very paranoid around people in some kind of troubled situation or very upset, even if it doesn't involve or pertain to him at all or he isn't responsible for any of it. Seems traumatized by the topic of death, and takes morality as a serious personal virtue, though he has a hard time figuring it out for himself.
History: Brandon Brent Banks was orphaned while still an infant. He was soon taken under wing by the clergy of the town. He spent most of his early childhood studying under the Holy Bible and other Catholic texts, at which he excelled and took to heart. For this the nuns often praised him and treated him better than most of the other children sheltered there. When Brent was seven and the time came for the church to look for homes for the orphans, a petty criminal named Arthur "Art" Banks, who was wanted in neighboring towns adopted Brent.
Art was single, and barely maintained financial stability, which is why he often resorted to robbing people and convenience stores. He was a highschool dropout who lived in a van which was also his main form of transportation. He also had some connections with the underground criminals, and though no longer on the greatest terms, was still permitted to call them for help. A few weeks after he adopted Brent, Art managed to get some shelter in an old warehouse that used to be the meeting place of a deformed gang, then owned by one of Art close friends, Drayton Needwolfe, a traumatized man who was in jail for manslaughter.
Brent's conscience began to get extremely confused over the course of events in which the surroundings of his life changed so drastically. However, Art was particularly nice to him, and understood how confusing and different his life had become. He knew that Brent was brought up as a saint child, and allowed him to continue worshipping under his doctrine, but whenever he would ask about his robbing people or getting in trouble, Art told him that it could all be forgiven by apologizing to God. Brent believed this, and so whenever even the slightest situation of a sort was introduced to him, he simply asked for forgiveness and it was over and done with.
When Brent began entering adolascence, Art needed some help with the things he was dealing with. Brent reluctantly agreed to be taught how to commit some of the deeds he was used to doing in order to help him out. It started out with distracting cashiers at convenience stores to let his guardian steal the goods to breaking windows and other malicious deeds. Brent began to think very badly of himself for agreeing along these terms, but his guardian and all of his friends said that he was doing an incredibly great job with what he was doing.
Brent managed to enter Independent Study for high school so as to educate himself and allow him to get a job when he moved out, keeping Art in mind. Some of Art's friends helped out by giving Brent fake cards like a driver's license and credit card amongst other things. By the time he was eighteen, Art gave him some money to help him start out, and he headed off on his own to start an independent life. However, Brent was mainly concerned with confronting the mysteries that plagued his mind at night. He wanted to figure out for sure what was wrong and right, and who his true parents were. He embarked on a deep soul search, nearly exiting the state as he roamed it.
But the next day, when Brent woke up, his entire world changed...
Everything was different. Everyone he ever knew didn't recognize or remember him. He wasn't even a registered citizen of the United States anymore.
In this place, Brent witnessed Drayton fleeing from the police. He saw him betray his best friend, Art and leave him for dead. Later on there was a news report that Drayton was a mass murderer at large who had gone on a cross-country killing spree, and just recently bombarded Texas with a whopping fourty two fatalities in a single city, all by himself.
Along the way, Drayton had raped a close friend of one of his victims. Under the circumstances she was in, the lady had an abortion. The child eliminated in the progress was Brent.
This severely bypassed Brent's belief system. He was outraged. Not only had this man killed hundreds of people, but forced a lady against her own will to commit a malicious deed. To Brent, it was one terrible thing in itself to take a life by means of abortion, but all this time he had been living a lie. Drayton never got away with rape in the world he came from, so Brent never had a true parent there, either. He was but a nonexistant person, caught up in the fate of transacting realities which contradicted his existence. A ghost.
Brent was filled with a sensational burning feeling, immeasurable anger he had never felt before. The hereditary genes from his newfound, true father were sparked by filling in the second half of his existence by coming into this world, and thus he had gained a bipolar condition, partly from the shock of his roots, accompanied by a sadistic bloodlust for those he saw as unforgivable sinners. He started a new journey, a vendetta, to exact vengeance upon both of his parents. He wanted to show them what it was like to be nothing, to be killed without being given a chance.
Along his bitter way Brent stayed at several hotels as he traveled in pursuit of Drayton, news reports being his only lead. He met a girl on a beach while he was going for a walk one day, a girl named Lucy DeCille. Lucy was curious of Brent's apparent anger, and though he was concentrated on other things at the time she managed to spark a conversation with him. She didn't completely understand what was going on, but Brent felt very comfortable in her presence. They became good friends and Brent decided to stay at this place for a little while. Over time Brent grew an affection for Lucy, but she was already dating someone - someone who she was very intimate with, and felt very distasteful towards Brent and put him to shame when it came to social traits and tastes.
Brent was very inconfident about trying to go any further with Lucy. However, he was still very concerned for her well-being, and shared empathy with her whenever she needed to talk about anything. Lucy was currently going through a struggle with her boyfriend, Rodney, over intercourse, and seeing as how he didn't want to use protection Lucy was stuck with little choices. She was too busy to remember something like taking a pill. She was considering abortion when it came to that. This reminded Brent of the condition of his existence, but seeing as how he felt deeply for Lucy he respected her decision. This began to spark some very deep thinking on his leisure time.
Brent became unsure as to whether or not he should forgive his parents, and became more and more confused over what was wrong and right with this turn of events. He definitely wanted to do something productive - he genuinely meant no harm towards people, even though he had the capability to pose a threat. He now seeks to comfort Lucy as often as he can while searching for answers, and briefly postponed the search for Drayton. He now understands that his mother would have been placed with unfair circumstances had she not gone through the process of abortion. And if he shall ever run into Drayton, he will not become angry due to his participation in eliminating his existence, but will desire to punish him for his heartless malignity.
Powers: When Brent traveled to the world we live in, he gained some supernatural powers as well as inheriting traits of his father. He can become physically transparent and change his visibility to others. Brent also has a somewhat potent telepathy, able to hear other's thoughts, but not communicate with them that way. Brent's powers wane over the course of 6 hours, but can be replenished as long as people think positively about him, which can be fueled by doing good favors and making friends. Brent also knows how to defend himself adequately, skilled in boxing and street fighting as well as the traits of a master thief due to the training of his guardian.
Weapons: Carries none, and doesn't really prefer to unless absolutely necessary or vital in some way.
Weakness: Has a really hard time making decisions pertaining to which is the better choice, and will hesitate to do things on the spot depending on the situation.
