Name: Aphasia Marias
Age: Appears to be perhaps late teens to early twenties
Gender: Female
Race: Mermaid
Alignment: Neutral
Power Level: Mid-Tier Medium
Timeline: Medieval, but can fit into a modern timeline
Appearance: Fairly "long" when she has her tail, but shorter when she has legs. Aphasia is "bodily gifted", with long turquoise hair and similarly coloured eyes. Her ears are of bizarre design, as they bear more resemblance to frilly, but rigid fins. These are the same light turquoise as the rest of her fish features, and remain even during legged form. Aside from a mass amount of strung pearls and two, small, simple gold earrings in both "ear fin", Aphasia only has a large strip of white silk to portect her modesty while in mermaid form. However, the strip is actually enchanted so that it covers her modesty while flapping in unseen wind. Her tail begins at the very end of her human waistline, barely making the transition at that point. Her tail has curves quite similar to the rest of her body, making the transition barely noticable (well, apart from the obvious). She has a long, frilly white fin on each hip. Like her ears and such, the tail is turquoise. When she splits her tail into legs, she gets a bit shorter. It's unknown what happens to her hip fins (some speculate they curl up and wrap themselves around the waist), but it is clear that her ears stay the same. Obviously, wears more covering when she has legs.
Personality: Fairly cheerful when she gets into conversation, but on outward appearance, she looks and behaves in a rather dismal manner. While one may not be able to say she's manically depressed, she certainly seems to hurt easy when it comes to emotion. Coming from a world where her "kind" is frowned upon and poached at times, she is understandably defensive and untrusting of some people. On the other hand, she thrives for company and conversation (especially with boys), so when she does start talking, it can be next to impossible to get her to stop. She also seems to have a mild case of germophobia, as she despises dirt and grime, and is practically obsessed with taking baths. She loves pearls a great deal, and also enjoys fish, though not in a manner most non-mermaids think. One of the fastest ways to Aphasia's heart, aside from her instant attachment to someone of anti-mermaid poaching beliefs, is her stomach.
History: Aphasia was a young woman from a parallell, demon inhabited world. (read: Abby Tohru) It was unknown when she preformed one of the acts that makes a "pure" demon become more wild and "inhuman" in appearance, as she never really remembers that far back. What she does remember is being forced to leave her family due to her "impurity". While her parents weren't exactly as racist towards Unpure as ome, her physical appearance meant that the girl had to leave, since the city they lived in was, obviously, on dry land. It was during her time in solitude that she learned the magic to make her tail legs for a time. She then made regular visits to her family, until the day where they finally disowned her. It was some time later that Aphasia met a sailor by the name of Saleh Taris, and it was because of him that her confidence in Pure demons overcoming their fear and hate of Unpures was renewed. However, Aphasia may have gotten a bit overboard with her infatuation of Saleh, as she hasn't seen him back on open water for months. While most times she only has the prospect of escaping soem poacher's net to keep herself entertained, she seems to avoid the mainland nowadays.
Powers: Has a few magical spells and abilities. THe most notable being her Fin SPlit technique, which is used to turn her fish tail into a completely functional human lower body. SHe can maintain this form for about a week without rest. Since "rest" really in the end could mean six hours without legs, she could easily blend into "legged society", if she actually wanted to.
Aphasia's overall physical performance is about double a normal human's in all aspects, which gives her some good strength to work off. Also, her legs are naturally strong (obviously), so they can be considered very dangerous.
Air Swim: An ability that alters Aphasia's personal gravity so that she can move through air like water. Since she can swim faster than she can run, this is much more useful in combat than Fin Split. However, it also lasts a much shorter time.
Bubble: Aphasia transfers her ability to breathe underwater to another. This can be dangerous if the reciever of the gift gets complacent, though, she can take it away just as easy...
Aqualung: Traps the enemy in a sphere of water, which then forcefully implodes after a while. (About long enough for a normal human to start losing conciousness).
Bioshock: Aphasia emits a high-voltage electrical burst from her body. Aphasia is unharmed by this technique. Very dangerous when in the water.
Weapons: A trident that she can summon with her magic. not exactly a large weapon, but big enough that it should be held with two hands.
Weakness: While probably not going to be utilized in many RPs, she's easily distracted by rotten logs, and has the almost uncontrollable urge to swim (or crawl) around and through them. She also seems to have a weakness towards the earth element, and her heavy dislike of dirt can be taken advantage of.
