Name: Called Tangero among Saiyans, originally Jason Beckett
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Human, Genetically comparable to a ¾ Saiyan
Alignment: Lawful Good
Power Level: Low-tier High (7)
Timeline: Modern/Futuristic
Appearance: Respectably tall with good muscle tone, he doesn't look extraordinary at a glance, but he keeps himself very clean. His hair has a clean cut to it and his uniform is always pressed and clean, no matter what, even if he's going out onto the battlefield. The uniform, itself, is not the standard Saiyan armor that is so common, but a black suit that has a more cloth-like look to it. It folds over further than a normal outfit, clasping at the shoulder rather than the sternum. The emblem of the Empire is stamped onto the chest over the heart.
Personality: He has a good heart, but when he makes a promise, he holds up his end no matter what. He will do what he can to help others, but Elena was the only time he ever actually disobeyed Vegeta. His promise to him in exchange for the peace, security and freedom of Earth keeps his loyalty close, and the Emperor knows that. His loyalty to his people comes first, and through that, his loyalty to the Empire is guaranteed.
History:
In an alternate reality, when the Saiyans attacked the Earth, there was no Goku to stop them. Also, if the Dragonballs existed, they were unknown to the people, so there was no one to tell them of the immortality-granting relics ... and no one to stop them.
In no time, Sol was another territory of the expanding empire, but during the attack, headed by Nappa and Prince Vegeta, themselves, a young man proved unusually brave, and through a combination of sheer luck and tenacity, managed to shove a walking stick through Nappa’s eye socket and into his brain, killing the massive warrior.
Vegeta, fully aware the boy, Jason, lacked power, still recognized the tenacity and intelligence behind him and took him with him when he left Earth. The young man was inducted as a servant to Lord Frieza, but through a deal with the Saiyan Prince, remained loyal to Vegeta. He studied the alien technology at his disposal diligently and developed several machines that aided the Saiyan and eventually led to the overthrow of Frieza, himself.
During this time, Jason was entered into the War Academy, established to instruct students in the ways of the elite warriors, such as energy manipulation and special operations strategies. He pursued this as diligently as he had his other studies, and won through many trials with the same luck, tenacity and strategy that had felled the Saiyan giant, but often came away battered, broken and near death. Vegeta, now Emperor, always kept a tank in the rejuvenation chambers open for him, expecting the usual, particularly after exams. What the Saiyan didn’t tell anyone, however, was that it wasn’t Human DNA in the chambers he was using to heal the boy, but Saiyan, resulting in, unknown to Jason, an artificial Saiyan hybrid, and he became stronger every time, especially when he was near death, and when he graduated from the Academy, Vegeta personally renamed him Tangero, though he refused to explain why he chose the name.
Eventually an officer and elite soldier, himself, he headed many missions for the Emperor, as well as many science projects, including one that rewrote the very genetics of the target. While still finishing the machine, he was sent on a mission that involved destroying a civilization that refused to submit peacefully. The orders were to completely exterminate the race, but one of the beings was a little girl, Elena, who was needlessly assaulted by the soldiers. Tangero put a stop to it and spared the girl’s life, stowing her away in his quarters.
But such things do not escape the Emperor’s eyes for long, and he soon found out about the stowaway. In punishment, he ordered that the next subject of experimentation of the genetic machine would be the girl. Failure to do so would result in the execution of both of them. He gave Tangero two days to make preparations, and when the Earthling protested that the machine was not yet ready, the Emperor simply stated that he’d better get it ready in that time, then.
He did get it ready and the experiment went off without a hitch. It accelerated Elena’s growth and augmented her racial mental abilities, resulting in her shield generating abilities. With her surviving and potentially being a vital new addition, a somewhat depressed Vegeta permitted her to remain, and she and Tangero developed a fast, sibling-like friendship.
Eventually permitted to return to Earth on leave, Tangero found harassment against the natives on the remote planet and sought to put an end to it, as such was not permitted within the Imperial territories, and to be blunt, it just plain ticked him off. In an ensuing conflict, his brother Jerry was confused for him and shot. Upon finding him, he grew angry and distraught, and for the first time transformed into a Super Saiyan and destroyed his brother’s attackers. It wasn’t until later when he heard from others what had transpired physically that he discovered what Vegeta had made him. At first, he felt betrayed, wronged, tainted, but he knew why Vegeta had done it. The Emperor wanted only the best, and he would do anything to make sure he had it.
Powers:
Super Saiyan 1 Transformation – Due to the Saiyan genetics inside his body, Tangero can reach the level of Super Saiyan. Whether or not he has the potential to reach higher levels is yet to be seen.
Explosive Wave – A basic but potent explosion of energy with the user at the epicenter. Not very accurate or bearing much of a range, but levels everything within a given radius, the exact dimensions of which depend on the power of the user. If used while Super Saiyan, it becomes the Super Explosive Wave, which has a wider radius and greater power. This is generally considered an amateur last-ditch attack by many, as it can be an incredible waste of energy unless you are facing a large number of opponents.
Big Bang Attack (Tangero Style) – One of the first assignments of students in the Imperial War Academy is to learn another person’s technique to a satisfactory degree and use it in a testing range. Tangero chose the Emperor’s technique to try to gain favor with the man that brought him there. His adaptation uses both hands side-by-side rather than a single one, outstretched in front of the person. It retains the earth-shattering level of destruction of its predecessor, though limited by the power of the user as always.
Pulse Blast - Tangero’s signature attack and the result of his final assignment at the Imperial War Academy, he developed this technique entirely from scratch. Instead of an open-handed attack, he makes a fist and fires the energy from that. The result is a sort of resonating blast created by the rings of energy as it rolls over his fist, down to fill the gap, and back up. He can fire it in individual bursts or a continuous wave, as well as from one arm, two arms or both together, with the strength of the attack varying accordingly. The unusual form of the attack and its alternating waves makes it difficult to block. Its ray-like nature also allows for strafing blasts with a motion.
Static Bomb - Another Tangero Original, this attack is much like a Death Ball or Spirit Ball (not to be confused with Spirit Bomb) in that it is an orb formed through concentrating energy, and the more time the user can take to focus and the more power he has to work with, the larger the blast can be charged. This electrically-charged blast lacks somewhat in brute force, but can stun opponents it doesn’t destroy and fry unprotected machinery with the EMP aftershock.
Equipment: None
Weakness: He's not as powerful as other warriors of his level, as he focuses more on balance and effect rather than brute force.
