Name: Steven Regent
Age: Unknown, appears to be mid twenties.
Gender: Male
Race: Ghost
Alignment: Lawful Good
Timeline: Modern
Appearance: Steven appears as a smoky blue image of a handsome, youthful man. He is dressed in a gentleman's attire, including a pinstripe suit, a tie, and a (presumably) matching fedora hat. He has a (again presumably) polished, elegant cane, but uses it more for fashion than walking, since he only gives the illusion that he's walking.
Personality: Steven is chivalrous and generous. He speaks politely and carries himself with authority and dignity. He is very proud, and does not accept defeat easily. He has expensive and elegant tastes, adding to his overall image of an old time gentleman. He's so focused on this image, in fact, that he fakes a high class Englishman accent to sound more proper. While his accent occasionally breaks, he always denies it. He claims not to favour any pokemon type, even though it's obvious he feels some sort of attachment to ghosts. He doesn't seem to refer to his team as pokemon, but rather as human friends, judging from the way he names them and speaks to them.
History: Not much is disclosed on Steven's past apart from what the ghost claims, and with his dubious behaviour and conflicts whenever he tells his story, no one may ever know the true Steven Regent. What IS known, is that Steven was a trainer during much earlier times. Most of his team was acquired during his life, appearantly. His deepest and most trusted companion was appearantly his Abra, who travel with him outside of a ball, even when he became a Kadabra and too heavy to carry.
Steven's death is also ambiguous, but appearantly he suffered a fatal fall down Mount Pyre. But with so many factors thathave been mixed up (among them how high up he was, how he fell off Mount Pyre, what he was even doing AT Mount Pyre, along with many others), one could easily say he also could've died from drowning in his bathtub. Again, there are facts that were known. Steven's Haunter and Misdreavus seemingly seperated Steven's soul from his body upon death, granting him a second life as a ghost. While he was able to interact with the living world, there were some functions that were now beyond him. To compensate, Steven's Kadabra begain training to work as a medium. He began to make a mental projection of Steven so that the living could see him, and he kept a telepathic link with his trainer at all times. So, the image of Steven was always where he was, did whatever he did, and otherwise mimiced his actions perfectly.
Steven continued "training", per say, though his activity in official competition was obviously finished. He doesn't seem to realise that, though, and frequently "haunts" pokemon gyms, scaring poor leaders witless by appearing out of nowhere in the middle of the night and challanging them. There have even been times where trainers have been accused of getting a badge illegitimately, but claimed that they fought the leader, a "well-dressed man that used Ghost Types".
Pokemon:
Name: Alexander
Species: Gengar
Type: Ghost/Poison
Gender: Male
Bio: Alexander was one of Steven's first pokemon. He was captured as a young Gastly, and spent almost all of his life with Steven. As such, he almost sees the trainer as his brother. He is happy-go-lucky and an optimist, and was the one to suggest seperating Steven's soul from his body.
Name: Melonie
Species: Mismagius
Type: Ghost
Gender: Female
Bio: Melonie was Steven's third pokemon, and the polar opposite of Alexander. She is gloomy and a pessimist, and while she does enjoy everyone's company, she never truly admits it. She is rather sour, and seems to have some confidence issues.
Name: Barker
Species: Rotom
Type: Ghost/Electric
Gender: Genderless
Bio: Barker is strange. Very strange. The electrical pokemon is a guilty-as-sin couch potato, and spends his free time glued to a television. When he's haunting a house, he'll typically possess the TV and change it to whatever game show that might be on. This has had a negative impact on his personality, as he always speaks as though he's the host of the best game show around.
Name: Akechi
Species: Shedinja
Type: Bug/Ghost
Gender: Genderless
Bio: Akechi has decidedly taken a vow of silence. However, he's very gullible. Any sort of trick that can be used to make him talk works. As such, he's normally easy to frustrate, and he tries to keep to himself.
Name: Osiris
Species: Spiritomb
Type: Dark/Ghost
Gender: Male
Bio: One word best describes Osiris. Hypochondriac. He is always under the impression that he is a) sick, b) injured or c) dying. He panics at the slightest abnormality with his body, even when it's not really an abnormality. As such, he frequently comes across as annoying to the others, particualarily Alakazam.
Name: Yuri
Species: Alakazam
Type: Psychic
Gender: Male
Bio: Yuri epitomizes the intellectual psychic. He's quite taken to reading, and when his services are not required, he can be found browsing local libraries, much to the shock and sometimes fear of human librarians. He always gives an intellectual and logical opinion, and is frequently perturbed by the various eccentricities of his teammates.
Weapons: None
Weakness: His team is horribly unbalanced. Every member save Osiris has a disadvantage to Dark type pokemon and Dark type attacks. Furthermore, if Yuri is in some way incapacitated beyond the point where he can use telepathy, Steven has no way to communicate with living people.
(Still working out a few kinks.)
