Appearance: John wears a mustard colored T-shirt with black jeans most of the time, sometimes he's just in his white muscle shirt and pajamas he likes to be comfortable. He is black, sporting a large afro that is almost a blast from the past.
Personality: John is a rather blunt person, if there is something wrong with you he's going to tell it to your face no matter who you are. He is not a hothead, anger comes to him relatively slowly but, many times he will pretend to be angry just to prove a point. He likes rap and Jazz music but surprisingly enjoys rock also.
History: John grew up in southern Louisiana way down in the boondocks but this was not because it was where his mom lived, he lived there because his mother had been missing for the past couple of years so, his grandmothers took him into their household. Life was good for a long time John went to school and learned the proper way to speak just so he wouldn't be another hoodlum. He had A's and B's up until about the fifth grade, that's when his mom took him from the loving care of his grandmother . Really this move was not a bad thing, John's mother was nice and got him into good schools but, unfortunately this little thing had caused a small rift in their family, the grandmother now hated the mother for stealing him from them and the mom had to return the hate while John was caught up in the middle. Years later, after John had moved out and was in college he began to notice strange things that happened around him, he noticed that as he walked through a field all the grass stood up and pointed in his direction as he walked, he noticed that people who were once depressed over the phone were almost histerically happy when near him, he noticed that Even when they were off streetlights would flicker on as he walked by them. He had no clue why this happened. After awhile he wondered if he could control it, whatever it was and sure enough, he could turn it off at any time. He began to research his little ability and found out that there was a certain genetic defect that was known to give people certain powers. After some genetic testing he tested positive for that gene.
One year after getting his bachelor's degree in Law John was thrown into jail, he was convicted of a crime he did not commit, he would have gotten off scott free if the case was not denied DNA evidence. He spent five years in jail, constantly getting harassed by other inmates. Eventually the case was appealed and John escaped from that hell called prison.
It was because of this that he decided to grow an afro, the afro was a promise he made to himself simply saying that he would never go back to prison.
About three years later his afro grew to a pretty good size, eventually he hid things in there, such as money, important documents and his combs. But the Afro had a much greater use than that.
John discovered (after remembering how to use his abilities) that his Afro acts as an amplifier of his abilities. Now John travels all over the world, helping heroes out when they need it, after all, with someone like him on your team, how can you lose?

Powers: John is a catalyst, those who are near him feel a sense of happiness when he decides to exude it. That is not all however, people near him get an energy boot, those who can manipulate energy can cut their energy consumption by 75% meaning that for 25% of the origional required power it took to form one beam or something to that effect, it's output is equal to 100% energy input
Those that use magic are also enhanced, concentration can be achieved much more easily, making even (some of) the most powerful spells only take a split second to cast. The potency of their magic is also increased greatly.
Physical attackers get a muscular boost of about 15% making them hit harder and run much faster than normal, John himself recieves a muscular boost of about 300% which isin't much considering he is only as strong as an athletic person.
Although, he can also become an Inhibitor.
If he does this, he reverses the effect of his aure causing other people's and lifeforms energy to drain to him.
As an Inhibitor John Drains energy from everything near him, adding to his own strengths.
Those near him in this stage get an energy outptu reduction of about 50%, meaning that you need 1.5 times the effort to produce the same result.
Magic cast time is reduced greatly because the inhibiting aura makes it harder for the enemy to concentrate and makes them much more fatuiged. Spells have reduced effects at this time also.
Thanks to the fatuige, physical attackers strength is lessened by a slight amount, not too big but big enough to really make a difference.
Energy manipulation: John can manipulate the energy of himself. he can make weapons, enhance his speed, fire blasts and suppress it (to hide from others)
Equipment: A long black bo-staff made of a combbination of alloys found of a wayward comet that crashed into the earth. It's nearly impossible to break, but it can be bent with about as much effort as someone would need to pull 100 tons up a 70 degree incline which is alot.
Weakness: His ability has no friendly fire feature so, whoever is in it, is in it, whether they be enemies or allies.
