Name: Roslin
Age: Appearance 23, Actual Unknown (see race)
Gender: N/A but Appears Female (see race)
Race: Artificial Being (Plant-like) – As clarification, plant-like only applies to the altered characteristics, they still look humanlike but share functions which only plants would normally have; this aspect mainly applies to their food/energy in that they need sunlight (or some light source similar), water and carbon dioxide (in other words air that isn’t too heavily laced with heavy air-borne pollution) to properly function. In short, due to the lack of gender with plants Roslin has no gender; she also has no “age” due to her artificial creation.
Alignment: Neutral Good
Power Level: Low-Tier Medium (4)
Timeline: Applicable to almost any timeline with artificially created beings (ie: clones, homunculus, robots, genetically altered humans, etc.)
Appearance: A relatively short (5’2”) and meek looking individual at a distance but has an air that suggests something as fragile as a flower. She has light green hair that is well kept and frames her face like an upturned flower bud. She usually has an expression of worry (as in her eyebrows are drawn together), but it is always coupled with a small smile. Her eyes are black in color, with a ring of white in the middle radius, and are slightly large for her stature; they make her face appear more childlike. She also has a set of two blue-colored markings under her eyes. Her build is lithe and typically well hidden by her conservative clothing. What she wears (if she has a choice) is simplistic, light in color and a dress or skirt in some form or another (clothing cuts below the knee and sleeves usually extend to the wrists).
Personality: Despite Roslin’s appearance as an introvert, she has no problem speaking her mind; however she is very picky and thorough about what she says. She finds all life to be beautiful but sometimes has trouble understanding why anyone would want to destroy it. She has an affinity for plants and watching life grow and does not condone ending life but understands that some sacrifice is necessary (in other words, she will not protest what butchers and farmers do). Roslin is very patient and can be reasoned with, however some concepts such as religious and political conflicts confuse her, so as a result she avoids them as much as possible (she keeps up with main events, but the gravity of them do not necessarily always mean anything to her). Outside of religion and politics, Roslin is deeply fascinated by the things around her, especially artisan crafts. She usually acts as a quiet observer, and has been warned not to interfere with affairs outside of her jurisdiction, however when necessary she can act (but it is usually pacifistic in nature due to her physical limitations). In regards to her interactions with other people, she’ll act as a courteous hostess and maintain this distant politeness until she becomes better acquainted with them, at which point she’ll be much more open and honest as personal relations strengthen.
History: Roslin is employed at a humble café and tends the small flower nursery at the side. She worked under the care of the owner who wanted her for the job due to his ripe age. With his recent passing she is now the sole caretaker of the establishment.
As such she has taken up more direct methods of dealing with those who would otherwise try to take advantage of her while still remaining relatively non-violent towards these aggressive visitors (such as unruly, usually drunk customers or passerby). From her practice and personal sense of routine, she maintains a proficient ability to evade and boasts quick enough reflexes that can outstrip normal humans.
She knows vague details of her origins but doesn’t seek to know much more beyond that. Part of it is due to a lack of interest and the other because of the visitors that seem to stumble in through the café’s doors…
Powers/Abilities: Roslin has the ability to heat things through her hands by using the energy she has stored up, using significant amounts of this will obviously have a noticeable toll on her functions (the outwardly expended energy comes from a hyperactive form of photosynthesis and other metabolic processes on her part). At the highest output she can cause flesh to bubble and leave painful boil-marks, at lower outputs it can thaw or warm things. Her hands are unaffected because of the one-way direction it goes.
She has the ability to store energy for long periods of time, normally this would not seem like a very important power but she can last roughly two weeks without water. She also possesses the ability to draw oxygen from water (it also needs to be some degree clean), but only for up to half an hour (and only when calm).
She possesses the ability to regenerate, however it will take an excessive amount of extra energy and time proportional to whatever was lost. The rate of regeneration is not any quicker than that of a normal human.
Due to the fact that she is not entirely human, and most of her attributes draw from plants, she has a small degree of immunity to air-borne toxins. This immunity also applies to most common natural diseases/sicknesses that afflict humans (this is due to a difference in physiology).
In terms of skills she has come to possess (out of curiosity and growing necessity from her independence), she has acquired a decent mastery of self-defense that employs throwing opponent’s force and weight against them. Despite not knowing what the formal term of it is, she studies and practices it because in her mind it is an elegant form of practical dancing as well as the most peaceful means of using force. Travelers or those who have studied the world that have seen her using this art of fighting often comment on it being much like Tai Chi. Her informal use of the style involves more dodging when necessary, but if left with no other options can incapacitate a foe through light contact.
Equipment: Although not intended for battle, her (personal) clothing is made out of a special durable material that allows for sunlight to filter through at the same rate as on her unclothed skin, this may seem unimportant at a casual glance, but it is necessary for her sense of “decency” and living functions.
Dousing reeds – Though not a weapon, they can be used to find and cleanse water sources. Like their name implies they resemble river reeds and appear to be made of a silver-colored metal.
Weakness: Roslin is weak to fire just as like any other living thing, she is deathly afraid of working near fire as well.
She becomes sluggish in chilling temperatures and if left unchecked, can fall into a deep sleep.
Physically speaking she is not the strongest in terms of head-on/power-based attacks, the only way she can compensate for this is with her agility and quick-thinking, but these aren’t always successful (this of course applies to the opponent in question’s own strengths).
Notes: My first RP profile! Please share any comments you have, I'm always looking for ways to improve. I'll be updating this in the near future with a picture. Thank you in advance!
EDIT: Added more details to her first power to clarify what it could do exactly.
EDIT2: Tweaked powers due to suggestion and after further thought. It wouldn’t make sense why a person who looks so fragile would be able to last very long in any world that still contained crime. Basically it’s the ability to self-defend at a reasonable rate, such as against the not so well-meaning citizens of the surrounding area. I also edited some wording so she wouldn’t come off being so fragile, which was an error on my part.
