Name: Don…Donald Newman
Age: 20 or so.
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Alignment: Neutral Good
Power Level: 5
Timeline: Modern, though given the correct circumstances, he can be used in other timelines as well.
Appearance
This is Don. At 5’11” and 145 pounds, he’s athletically built. His face is still sunken and he looks perpetually fatigued, but his eyes…they hold life again, a certain shine that wasn’t there during his possession. What people can’t normally see is the fact that his entire chest is covered in one extensive burn scar, and a similar looking scar running along the length of his spine.
Personality
He’s…quiet. He just doesn’t have much to say about anything. He’s an observer, someone keen at holding his tongue and opinions, at least until he fully understands a situation; he’ll wait to act for the same reason. He’s the type of person who prefers quiet, and would sooner admit he was wrong, even if he’s undoubtedly right, just to avoid an argument.
Abilities
Don still wields the chaotic black lightning, a chaotic energy that has a penchant for bypassing non-organic material armors (magical fields and natural armor still blunt/stop it). Being more in his own mind, he is able to wield it to its full potential, wielding it to the limits of his imagination. Unfortunately, his imagination is fairly, well, small. Despite this, he is still able to manipulate it to a goodly extent. For example, while in melee he often cloaks his hands with the black bolts of energy, making them capable of punching through material armors with ease. He’s able to throw the bolts “a la Zeus” (though they lose power the farther they travel), he can arc the lighting to distances up to 300 feet, command it in a short range spread “Force Lightning” style…among a couple other things.
He still has enhanced strength and speed, but without the aid of the demonic possession, it’s not as extensive as it used to be, just beyond the limits of human ability.
Weapons
Still has none.
Biography
Don was born possessed by the Gatekeeper of the Abyss Avadon, his purpose to kill any rogue demon among men, thus sending it back to the Abyss where it belonged. For most of his life, he walked around possessed, following Avadon’s suggestions. Until one day, he got the urge to take a drive to a certain apartment complex. On the way there he spotted a McDonalds. Despite all the thoughts telling him it was a bad idea, he went ahead and pulled through the “drive-thru”, picked up some lunch, and headed on to where he was going.
He arrived too late to save Lily. However, he did arrive in time to find the demon that had killed her, and killed him in kind. However, the incident told the possessing demon one thing: he was losing his control over the man. Thus, he left the man in search of another more suitable body. Though his main power was now cut off, Don’s body was forever corrupted by the lengthy possession, leaving him sickly-looking, but with the ability to still use his black lightning.
(Bleh, short, but I’m not feeling inspired…)
Strengths
Don is a versatile fighter, able to fight both at long, short, and melee range with near equal effect. His observant nature makes him a dangerous fighter in any terrain or setting, as well as forcing his opponents to come at him with everything they have in the beginning of a fight to end him quickly before he figures them out.
Weaknesses
Now that he’s no longer possessed by demonic powers, he’s no longer so annoyingly hard to kill: mortal wounds (such as a whole in the chest) will kill him, and serious wounds will cripple and slow him down. After all, he is only human.
Due to the exorcism that released him from his possession, he also lost most of his power, including his increased regeneration, flight, and teleportation, as well as much of his speed and strength. Ever since he was released from his possession, Don has had a severe allergy to Latex.
One last thing: he’s a street brawler. He’s had no formal combat training whatsoever, putting him at a disadvantage in melee against most fighters with formal martial training.
