"You're damn right they're lousy!" Karen sobbed. "I want a hug..." She murmured, only particularily to herself.
*Park*
"I could do that..." Ixion said. "Or I could tell you something else I want. Your ass on a plate."

Instead of a hug, she was dumped roughly onto a moss bed. "Is there a reason Jesse dumped you on me, or did he just feel like giving me a headache?"
*Park*
"Ha!" she scoffed, turning away as she flicked her hair behind her. "Join the club. Next left, take the stairs six feet down."

"Ow!" Karen yelped as she hit the moss. "Well, I'm sorry for trying to get some sympathy!" She pointed up. "Your friends tried to kill and mentaly scar me... you should have a word with them."
*Park*
"Aw, but I hate clubs so much, you see." Ixion said lightly. "I prefer to set myself out from the crowd."

The monstrous visage took on an air of disbelief. "Mentally scar?"
*Park*
"That's nice," Melody answered, mockingly nice. "Might I recommend the middle of nowhere, then?"

"Yes." Karen said. "You don't believe me? It felt like this..." Karen whinched her eye shut, trying to send the mental image of how much fear she felt into the dragon's mind.
*Park*
"Nah." Ixion said. "Been there, done that. Pretty boring stuff, too. Hey, I got an idea." The demon brought his sword down. "Hows about you and I dance a bit, huh? I've got nothing better to do, Heihachi's stuffin' his face at some downtown buffet. Come dressed as a samurai and eat for free. I keep telling him that stuff's bad for him, but since when has he listened to me, huh?" Ixion gripped his sword harder. "So? You in?"

But nothing went through. It was like she was just thinking the thoughts to herself. The supernatural defenses of the dragon didn't even blink in response. "I know what happened, Mortal. I am bound to the rangers and to the other dragons. You attempted to force a Ranger to turn on one of his own. The retaliation you received from Mellifus as a result was your own fault. You will find no sympathy from me."
*Park*
She turned back to him, smirking as she crossed her hands under her chest. "You intend to fight me? The general of the demon empire?" Her eyes flashed green for just a moment. "What's wrong, don't remember how it ended last time?"

"Are you trying to scare me, you oversized newt?" Karen said.
It's working.... She thought to herself uneasily.
*Park*
"Of course I remember!" Ixion said. Sort of... "You said that exact same thing. Except you also had your giant, hairless pet rat. If I didn't think I could handle you now, would I have said anything? No, I don't think so. I AM smarter than that reeking salamander that follows you around, you know."
*Other part of Park*
"Ugh..." The cloaked man from before groaned as he fell out of a tree. "I'm getting too old for this...." He groaned.
He shuffled to his feet, rubbing his back gingerly. "Oh, boy..."
Epsilon lifted himself out of the small crater he made. "Where is Mistress Karen?"
"I dunno..." The man said, dusting himself off now. He then saw the Rangers. "Alright, kids... what'd you do to her?"

In a moment, his fangs were inches from her face and his breath, smelling of deep loam, clay and rough-hewn stone, filled her senses. "If I desired to frighten you, mortal, I'd not have to try, but worry yourself not. You are not worth the trouble.
*Park*
Melody's smirk remained. "I don't believe Crocigator, whom I agree is an idiot, interfered with our fight. He only dealt with your tin can, which isn't here with you, either. And there were still three of you then, one of which was significantly better with a sword than you are. But if you truly wish a fight, it would be dishonorable of me to refuse.
*Other part of the Park*
"She went -" the red ranger started, but the black one raised one hand to motion for him to be quiet while he held the other to his ear, as if listening to something.
"She's fine," Jesse answered. "She's with a friend."

Karen upturned her nose when the dragon leaned in. "Uh... you know, you should really consider mouthwash..."
*Park*
"The tin can ain't here because I scrapped him. He's probably melted down into some cheap lawn ornament now." Ixion growled. "That is, after he killed the girl. And since I've figured out that I can't count on Heihachi for anything, I've decided to pull everyone else's weight on my own. So, you gonna keep yakking on about honour, or are we gonna scrap?"
*Other Part of Park*
"Heh, your friend or our friend?" The man asked. "There's an obvious difference."

The dragon seemed to scoff, but the wind from it stirred up her hair like a small tornado before he leaned back, seeming to wait for her to say something else.
*Park*
"Funny," the girl answered, "I just saw them both not five minutes ago. But you are right, let's get this over with. Since I won last time, it's only fair if I let you open."
*Other side of the park*
"Our friend," the black ranger answered, shifting his hammer, "and you're right, there is a difference, and you'd better remember it."

Karen grasped a hand over her nose, her brow wrinkled in disgust. "Ugh.... When I get home I am having a really long bath...." The scientist whimpered. "I smell like a dried up mudball the dog buried in the back yard...."
*Park*
"What, are you trying to psyche me out?" Ixion said. "Epsilon and Karen are DEAD, Morphy. I saw to destruction of one of them personally, and I remember burying the other like it was an hour ago."
"But that doesn't matter." Ixion said. "Delusional or not... this time..." Ixion's sword emanated more negative energy. "You are going to hell!"
The demon disappeared, the negative enrgy was still there, though, now spreading outwards like an invisible mist. Ixion reappeared soon after, somehow above and behind Morphaeus, bringing his sword down to slice the demon down the middle.
*Other side of the Park*
The man sighed, lifting up his hood and running a hand through his wild, blonde hair. "Now don't tell me you're threatening me, young man... Or my student. You see, I don't like being pushed around by the younger generation."

Alluvius scowled. "I thought you were supposed to be a genius?"
*Park*
But Melody spun about, and as Ixion's cleave came down on her, her form hazed out, Morphaeus' green arm resolidifying as a sharp blade that the demon was inches away from impaling his neck on.
*Other Side of the Park*
"And I don't like old nutjobs coming in with their student nutjobs and trying to mess up my hometown," the ranger answered, but the red one put his hand on his shoulder to calm him, stepping forward.
"Don't worry, no harm will come to her," the red ranger reassured them. "We don't believe in hostages. What my teammate meant was that she will be in ... protective custody until this little conflict resolves. Now, what do you want with this place?"

"I am." Karen countered. "But I never had the need to resolve such terrible breath. All I had to do was brush my teeth.... I'm a scientist, not an oral hygene expert."
*Park*
However, Ixion somehow paused in mid-air, stopping just on the tip of the blade. For some reason, he actually gripped it with his free hand. "Nice try." He said. Energy erupted from his hand and traveled down the blade, far more intense than anything the demon could have mustered before.
*Other Side of Park*
"I want nothing with this place." The man said. "I am merely here for the girl's safety. She's more than just my star pupil, she's like a daughter to me."
"My directive is to merely follow Master Wattson and Mistress Karen's orders." Epsilon said dryly. "My personal agenda is secondary in priority. Though it follows Mistress Karen's clearly."

(Um, loam, clay and rough-hewn stone doesn't have much of a smell, and certainly not a terrible one. It just smells like dirt and rocks.)
*Park*
The moment the demon stopped falling, however, instead of waiting for him to chat, Morphaeus willed the blade to shoot upward further without warning.
*Other Side of the Park*
"Alright, fair enough," the red ranger answered. "So what does Mistress Karen want with this place?"

(Dirt's still not a very good smell, and it could be easy to assume that she's exaggerating.)
*Park*
Ixion had barely brushed his neck over fast enough. The blade pierced his neck, and the demon gripped it in mocked agony, slipping off the blade and falling to the ground. "Woe! A plague on both your houses! I have been slain!" He said, sounding as if he was unable to heal the strike in the throat. "I'm dying! I can't die! I'm too pretty to die!" The demon let go of his weapon.
*Other Side of Park*
Wattson frowned at the rangers. "I don't exactly feel the need to tell you." He said dryly.
"Mistress Karen's agenda is simple enough. After paying our respects to a dear and departed friend, we would then come in contact with one who had caused us some grievances in the past... and eliminate him. He will be the first to go. An example for the others to follow. Non-compliance will not be tolerated. The dream will be realized, and none shall halt it. Subject Morphaeus will be an example of that." Epsilon said. his monotonous voice turned dark, and he raised a powerful hand in a threatening gesture.
