The beautiful man turned toward the newcomer and smiled in a welcome manner that seemed completely unoffended. Indeed, he had known he was not alone. He simply didn't pay him any heed. Not because he believed the facade, but because he saw no real threat in the man behind it.
"Ah, Enigma, I was wondering when you would come out of hiding," he greeted him as if he was an old friend. "Did you finally complete your preparations for presenting yourself before me? Truly, you did not expect me to be unable to see through such a simple mask?"
As he spoke, the man sent out his senses over the area, a simple precaution, but it would alert him to much ...

The gentleman's face didn't deter as the Demon spoke, yet his body composition changed to that of a lean; unimpressed by the smile it seemed.
Hand was raised to push the glasses back upon the bridge as they drooped with each passing second. Fingers remained upon the middle of the metal frame, using the palm to conceal his pressing, one sided grin.
"Kali," he'd begin, voice deeper and more ominous than before, "I was wondering if you could see through such. You continue to impress.
Thumb crept forward to pinch the frame and soon just toss the spectacles to the side, same hand coming back to move horizontal across his face, a single pass that would cause his facial structure to shift. Hair flashed and was becoming silver and side swooped. Eyes had also shifted; the right to a deep emerald while left sunk into a mink-mauve. Shell shed.
"I think it's time we settled things here and now," He'd say, eyes lowering into hard beams. "Don't you agree?" He'd ask. No need to attack just yet, he had -some- honor.

The Man-Demon's chuckle was initially Enigma's only reply as he walked down off of the ruins to the grassy forest floor as if stepping down stairs, his cream robes fluttering about him in the breeze as he kept his hands clasped behind him. It wasn't until he reached the bottom that he gave a verbal reply, turning as he did so to face the half-phantom.
"I'm afraid I can't say I do, dear boy. Forgive me, but I'm not aware of any outstanding issues we have between us, at least from my perspective, and as for here and now, I've never particularly agreed with such a phrase in general." He motioned with his hands to either side as he explained. "What special significance does this very spot or this very moment have over any other? How would it matter if an event took place an hour prior or after, or if it took place thirty feet to the left or right?"
Still, he folded his hands back again as he finished and gave Enigma an apologetic, understanding smile. "But I ramble, yes? You are not overly interested in extract philosophy at the moment. And, if I understand you adequately, the matters you believe need settled are entirely personal: You believe the universe has unjustly put you in an inferior position in relation to myself, and wish to elevate yourself by proving yourself my martial superior."
The beautiful Nephilim's smile quirked up as he finished with, "Do I have the gist of the matter, dear boy?"

The Phantom didn't seem to share the same interest in talking as the Demon did. In turn to the rambling he would start to show a good sign of confusion, but not to the words themselves.
"No such thing as outstanding issues. I simply desire more power, and this is the easiest route." He'd say with a quick chuckle. "Although, I can't say that this sacred area will remain with what we can do." A compliment?
"Let us begin, then." he'd announce. With this being said, the Phantom's left hand would thrust forward, and with that thrust a wave of pure vacuum would unleash itself from his knuckles; aimed at Kali's mid-section. Good as any to start things off.

But the wave crashed over itself before it even could close the last foot to the Man-Demon, and Kali, himself, seemed completely unperturbed. He must have spent the time running his mouth preparing personal defenses. Clever, and likely to make one wonder what else he had prepared while seemingly rambling.
"As you wish, dear boy," he replied to the Half-Phantom as if the attack hadn't occurred at all. "Would you like to go first or shall I?"

He didn't seem all that distressed that his opening simply crashed into a shield of some sort. He was still smiling of course.
"Well, I'll let you start." A hand was flourished to him, a gentleman way of sort.
Of course he was ready for the Demon to close the distance or blast a telekinetic wave off. This Phantom had changed from his usual brash and hot-headed attitude.

Civilly, politely, the Man-Demon bowed in reply, so very proper, so very controlled. "So be it," he replied, his tone perhaps even kind. "Engarde, boy."
Enigma was expecting the man to rush in, or to blast him from the front. Heck, maybe he was even prepared to be struck from behind. All were within Kali's capabilities. However, none of that was the case. When he first arrived, Kali had thought to simply bind him to the spot, but the boy would simply try to phase out, and his ego would lend an unfortunately quick end to this fight. No, Enigma trying to phase to the spirit plane was the last thing Kali wanted to see happen. Dead men couldn't learn, and it would be an undoubtedly one-way trip for him. Surprise was the key here. The direction he would be least likely to expect would give the greatest amount of surprise, making it least likely that Enigma would attempt to phase.
Instead, there was only the barest instant to their senses of time where a brief spike of energy could be detected ... immediately below him. The next, the ground exploded in a geyser of offensive energy potent enough to obliterate a mighty mountain instantly, all without a gesture or change of expression from the Nephilim.

The Phantom stood there, staring at the Demon as he spoke, but those omni-colored hues were watching his movements, mind open to the surroundings. It was almost as if a tingle in the back of his mind alerted him to the surge from below, and muscles reacted solely on instinct.
A super accelerated diagonal strafe caused the Hybrid to blur in rapid movements, right hand quickly jerking forward to signal something from below.
At Kali's feet, a decayed and bony hand would erupt; looking to wrap those fingers around his ankles, but it wasn't just one hand, as many more would erupt if he continued to move or try to shake them off. They would have a draining effect to them, as if Death was calling to the Demon and wished for his strength.
The Phantom would have appeared off to the side of the Demon, but sliding ever so efficiently over what seemed to be a slope of ice being manifested as he moved. He was planning to use the dead as a distraction inside that shield he had, but the Phantom was coming at him fast, looking to shove his right hand forward and hoping to collide with that shield if it came up just as before.
If he happened to puncture it just enough, Kali would be in big trouble, as from the tips of his fingers, a plethora of fire would erupt; looking to engulf the Demon and use his shield to keep the flames within so he'd burn even more quickly. These flames would easily be enough to melt iron in a matter of seconds, as well.

The hands of the dead slapped futilely against the barrier that had not ceased to protect the Nephilim, though given his parentage, it was fully likely that the attack would have been useless, anyway. However, Enigma had made a crucial mistake. He assumed Kali's attack had been only one, a mistake the Man-Demon had fully expected of the narrow-sighted young man.
The bursts hadn't stopped. Instead, another one erupted when he dared slow down again. No matter how "efficiently" one slides on ice, they are still sliding, slave to their own momentum. Specifically, one erupted as he was attempting to do so. The attempt at flare over efficiency would leave him right in the way of the blast. If Enigma still managed to avoid that and continued the rush for Kali directly, he would see the Man-Demon turn to smile pleasantly at him even as he rushed in ... and then the blast would occur right next to Kali, making that one absolutely impossible for Enigma to avoid, having already dedicated himself to the strike.

The ice was still manifesting at the Hybrid's feet, his body soon starting to lower as he skated across it, but there was another blast of Energy; oh how Kali irritated him with this nonsense.
Feet would quickly turn to the side, hands coming forward to unleash a brutal stream of flames, this force causing some inertia to send him back, and off the current stream and away from the pillar.
He would soon land upon the ground, quickly freezing over in another slide of ice for him to quickly move upon. Same tactic as before, it seemed. He was headed to come face to face with the Demon. Right hand was coming forward in a powerful haymaker, but that same tingle in his mind again, only ignored this time.
The hand was likely to hit the shield hard, and with great impact. It was sure to break it, but the blast that Kali had prepared was much too close to avoid as before, thus he took it.
The way it impacted was different and likely unplanned. Carried upon the top of it, but more interestingly kept at bay with what seemed to be a magnetic force grinding against the top of the energy, mostly -trying- to deflect it but giving way a short amount of time after. This is where the blast took him over, incinerating most of his clothing except pants and shoes.
After a few seconds, the Hybrid would land upon the ruins that Kali had been standing on previously, in the exact spot. He had landed in a crouch, head low.
"You play dirty, don't you?" He'd say in a raised tone, obviously a little ticked.

As Kali turned to face him, still smiling that friendly smile, his shield had already corrected the damage the Giga Impact style attack had caused. Perhaps not pushing that instead of pausing to talk was a bad idea. Nevertheless, Kali seemed content to give the boy a breather and didn't immediately launch another blast.
"My dear boy," he replied, holding his hands out to either side as if the answer were evident, "you really should consider who you are speaking of. One might scold you for asking a stupid question. Fortunately, I believe such a thing does not exist." And he motioned toward the Half-Phantom Emperor with one hand as he held the other behind his back. "Would you perhaps like to have a go at it this time?"
Have a go at it ... did the Man-Demon truly see the threat of an assault from Enigma as an idle way to pass the time? As a game?
