"Science is with me," the young woman answered, "but if it is with everyone else, I cannot say." She turned back to the old man. "Do you know where the inn is?"

"With you. . . what?" Zionix's face held an emotion called confusion. She rarely had experienced it before being thrown astray but ever since then she had time to get to know it better. "Are your trying to say your a . . .scientist? "

"I am," the blonde confirmed as she awaited an answer from the old man.

The old man simply stared at the newcomer with the dumbest of dumb-drunk expressions before gazing down at the bottle in his hands. Either ignoring the odd question of science or magic, or simply thinking it an alcohol-induced dilusion, he tossed the nearly-empty rum bottle away, teetering dangerously as he did so.
"Th' tav'rn...'s thaddaway," he indicated down one of the side-streets with a limply hoisted arm before succumbing to the toddling; he fell on his side, drooling and asleep.

"Well, everywhere, really. Harvest festival, you see." the orcish one responded with a scratch of his chin, though he grinned when he tacked on, "Though ours be the best. I hear this year we're fortunate enough to have a Yale roast, even. Then there's the usual dancin' and merriment..."
The barkeep trailed off as he picked up the four ales and moved off to deliver them to their destined table, leaving Constance alone.
(Igashu's still "cavorting" with GB's character, if you feel like pulling him along by the ear.)

"Thank you," the blonde told the unconscious man before motioning to the woman with purple hair. "Shall we proceed? Perhaps we can compare theories."
*Kegan*
Constance glanced over at Igashu and came over, rapping him on the shoulder. "Igashu, tell me of this Harvest Festival. If it's going to be crowded, perhaps we should leave before it gets into full swing."

" . . . sure. But, how do we know he was correct when pointing us in the direction? Really he was highly intoxicated. . ." She said, walking over and past the blonde woman, heading in the direction the old man had pointed.

"Do you have a better idea?" the blonde asked. "It is the direction I was originally told to go, and if nothing else, we can ask another."

" Well if you needed to ask a drunk then I can only come to believe that you really didn't trust those direction in the first place, yet I do believe that since this is the only other lead we have, we should follow it. Now, about science. What level are you at? Are you still fiddling with stones to start fires or have you already contained a liquid or gas to create it?" She asked, that being the most basic level of science she could thin of. She planned to work her way up.

The blonde glared flatly at her for several moments, as if trying to decide if she were serious. Finally, she reached into a satchel and pulled out what looked like a shock stick, but was actually the interdimensional travel device that she had worked on to try to find Constance. She handed it to the purple-haired woman. "I think mine is more impressive than yours. At the very least, it makes a far less embarrassing entrance."

" Ah! I see! Your not some mindless peasants that squabble in mud. " She said stopping, taking the shock stick and examining it up in the air with an expert eye. " I had to enter that way, my belt alone is not powerful enough to transport me through dimensions and worlds, only across a considerable distance, and sometimes time considering how far forward and back I want to travel. I had to work with a reckless wizard and combine magic with science and that horrendous entrance was the product of the primitive combination."
She suddenly frowned. " Nope, won't help me at the moment." She handed it back to the blonde. " Though the combination of magic and science is something I really wish not to do, sadly it is the only way to get back. I need the combination of high science and magic to break through the barrier of my dimension. You see, I've tried high magic and science by themselves but sadly they have both failed. " She rubbed her forehead in thought, remembering what she needed to say, thinking of a way to exit this world, multitasking her thoughts. " I have searched for a world of magic and science yet every time I find one, I cannot find one as advanced in either field, so if you have high mages here, please point the way and follow me. Also, very nice design, I would not have chosen it myself though. I designed these belts for combat purposes, before you start about it being bigger than yours. It holds up your pants and so much more." A grin was plastered on her face, one of great pride. It was a small invention of hers but she still marveled at her own genius.

The blonde returned the rod to her satchel. "Perhaps you misunderstood. Like you, I am not from this world. I come searching for my brother. That is why I cannot tell you the depth of this world's technology or science. I, myself, am a Rentisian. While I have had little experience with magic, I do believe that science, study and logical thought can accomplish anything. It is simply a matter of discovering how. To ever utter the word, cannot, is to place a limit on what you can accomplish. A failed experiment is not the fault of the science, nor even that of the scientist. It simply means that, out of the plethora of options and possibilities, you have eliminated one and have come that much closer to finding the right one."

Completely ignoring the other information about the belief of hard working drive to accomplish one's goal, which she knew to be true in most cases, she directed he comment at the beginning part of the woman's response " Why did you not say that from the beginning? Really, you had me thinking you were like that drunk back there. So, by the looks of it, this place has no science, so maybe magic? and about your brother, if I help you would you help me?" Her black eyes gleaming at the possible opportunity to go home.

"I didn't mention it back there," the blonde answered, "because people without the capacity for transdimensional travel seem to look poorly on those that can, ranging anywhere from believing they are insane to that they are monsters, demons or aliens. Not the kind of attention one would want."
At the request for aid, the blonde nodded. "Of course. Whether you help me or not, I've nothing against doing what I can to aid you. It should be a simple matter of finding out exactly where your world is in relation to this one and programming those as the next coordinates. Unfortunately, either way, I can't do that until after I find my brother, as it is currently set to track his jumping signature, and if I change that, I could lose his trail for good."

'Did she not listen to the whole ' I need to find a world with magic and science/technology' thing?' Zionix thought to herself. She also shuddered at the thought of the witch trails again. "We'll get to helping me after we find your brother. So, cant it pinpoint his location perfectly?"

"Clearly, you've never met my brother," the blonde answered calmly, despite the rudeness the violet continued to present through her tone. "He doesn't stay still. The device tracks the entry point, but in addition to my brother's own movements, the planet also rotates, so that the place the gate opened up at isn't at the same location a few hours later. It pinpoints his point of entrance perfectly, yes, but my brother wears no tracer to track."
