I hope this is the correct place to post this. If it is not, then please let me know. The actual role-play thread will be created once I get sufficient entries.
From an orbital station, the man only known as the Strategist looks down at the ruined planet underneath. The surface had seen a great deal of damage not so long ago, when the great nations of this world destroyed one another using both technology and magic. There was no time to react before his ground forces got eradicated as a terrible large-scale magic weapon struck their locations. He gave the order to activate the cloning vats for rapid soldier creation, but he could not, for all his strategy, condition them to have strategic intelligence.
Which is why the portal in the summoning chamber has been activated, and word has been sent to all otherworlds to call on anyone willing to join him as a commander to reclaim the torn world and restore the peace.
It wouldn't be easy, but it has to be done.
He waited.
------------------------------------------
Rules:
1-Setup: Participants will be "deployed" to different locations in the world, and each will have to confront enemy forces of sorts. As the story proceeds, new elements will be introduced depending on the overall actions of the participants.
2-Death: Whoever dies (or is captured) in battle will be brought back into the cloning vat (with full memories up to their time of death) aboard the mothership and given a new assignment before redeployed.
3-Taking Sides: There will be several factions with different agendas and goals, and players can choose to take on them or join them. This will affect the overall direction of the story, and, depending on the circumstances, two or more players may face one another in battle. Those who choose a side against the goals of the Mothership forces will be targeted for annihilation. If dead, they won't be brought back in the mothership, with possible exceptions that may include memory modification or special conditioning. Most likely, they will be brought back by the technology or magic of their chosen faction, with varied modifications and degrees of effectiveness.
------------------------------------------
Factions (and what they claim their goals are):
The Mages: Fierce in their magic, they have mastered the arts to support them in battle as well as a way of life. Their goal is to infuse the world with magic and destroy all opposition on the surface.
The Ninjas: Stealthy, silent, and use shadow magic and espionage to end a battle before it even begins. They exist to make sure nobody grows too powerful, and their network appears to spread across the globe. Their central location has never been found, and their leader has never been seen. This faction has turned into a myth among the factions of the world.
The Global Forces: The primary remaining technological-driven faction. They strive to reunite the people of the world and promote peace, even if it means using brute force to destroy all opposition.
The Chosen Ones: A religious faction which believes that the end of days has arrived, and all nonbelievers have to be destroyed before the world meets its final fate.
The Corrupted: Those bystanders who were mutated and transformed by the other factions, or suffered from their relentless destruction. Their goal is to extract vengeance on those who twisted their lives beyond recognition.
The Merchants: This faction provides a neutral area for commerce between members of different factions. Merchandise from all over the world can be found in this area. Any battles or confrontations in the Merchants' area will trigger the defense systems, which will eradicate the individuals engaged in open confrontation.
The Space Command: The starting point of the story. Lead by the Strategist, this faction's presence on the surface has been eradicated by an unforseeable turn of events, it has turned to another world for voulenteers to join their ranks and fight on the surface to subdue the other factions. This faction's ultimate goal has yet to be revealed.
There will be other factions, but so far this is what I am willing to introduce. Watch this space for updates as the story moves forward.
