... the army recruiter was talking to me yesterday (and two weeks ago) about me joining the army.
I was fully qualified for the army AND any position I wanted because of how high the score was I took on the practice test. I suggested that I could try Computer Programming or the Band.
Well, blah, now they're not gonna let me in because I have asthma. Boo!
So, who here has asthma?

I laugh.
The Army says they're hurting for recruits, yet, they turn you down for asthma. It's hilarious; they can't spend a few extra dollars for an inhaler...
Anywho, I don't but my mom does. A little bit. I barely see her use the inhaler.

They're not turning me down for not buying me an inhaler. See, to join the army, I have to do this test, which involves running four miles. My asthma won't let me run 100 meters on the track before I get winded... the recruiter said the army doesn't want me to sustain an injury during the physical test. *sighs* All that college money...

The marines accepted me with my asthama...... Wow, thats odd. I know a fool who wanted to join the army and the day he got shipped off to boot camp, they shippped him back home because of soemthing to do with the large holes in his ear lobes. Yet, the Marines accepted him and now he's been training with them... and constantly bitching about it on Myspace ever time he gets on the sight. I will admit he has gotten alot bigger. Before he left he was 120lb light weight you could toss around easily. Now he's alot bigger, but still the lazy SOB he was in high school. Constantly bitches about blue balls, lack of music, lack of his interest in guns, and his blue balls.

I'm surprised he's made it that long in the marines and not had his laziness and whatnot beaten out of him. And how can you join the Marines and not like guns? The Army even? He should have gone with the other guys with blue balls and joined the Navy. Maybe even the Air Force, though their guns are just bigger and really, really loud... Wow, thread necromancy much? Wow, Fail to contribute a single relevant thought to the discussion much?

I have asthma which I believe I started to outgrow considering the fact I have been REALLY physically active and haven't needed an inhaler for a year and a half. I wanted to join the Marines at one point, but they said because I USED to have asthma I couldn't join. I was hoping the Army wasn't the same way, but after reading this I guess they are. Talk about shitty luck, I'll have to find something else to do now.

Someone I knew used to have asthma his freshman year, and then he did track for his years of highschool... and by his junior year, he almost completely outgrew it. By the time the recruiter got him his senior year, he hadn't used his inhaler in over two years.
As for me, running simply 100 meters is enough to get me winded for about an hour or so... as yesterday proved (though my asthma is worsened by that heat index of, like 105).
